• Jann (2/5): Dissatisfied, disappointing and dangerous - Not much Definitely over sold and under delivered We were very disappointed as the accommodation was not as described. How it passed building codes is a mystery, the steps up and down were very high and very difficult to step up and down, not up to code. The private bathroom, what a joke. Fence palings missing and a clear view into 3 backyards. What lake view? To see the lake you had to walk out onto the road, past a two storey house, and look down the street to get a glimpse. Negotiating the side walk was difficult as there was no lighting and the yard was very uneven, a sprained ankle waiting to happen. There was only one block out blind above the bed, the side window only had sheers and the double front door had no coverings Will not be staying there again and will not recommend. Also $650 for 2 nights was a rip off in comparison to other accommodation in the area
• Debbie (8/5): Comfortable and quiet, missing some ammenities - Close to beach Dogs were cute Over all cleanliness, misleading information on ad regarding water views, outdoor shower could offer a bit more privacy. Property could do with curtains on windows and a more private fence from main home. The feeling of Privacy was lacking.
• Jade (10/5): Stunning design, peaceful environment and hosts that have truly have thought of everything - Stunning design, the place is small enough to feel cosy and intimate but fully functional and very open. Both hosts are very approachable and welcoming with a gorgeous family making the trip feel very wholesome, but with the bungalow situated at the back with not a not of view into the house, there is a great deal of privacy so it is the best of both worlds. The outdoor bathroom was gorgeous, and such a treat. Keys get a little caught in the door which was a bit stressful at one point but eventually ease up if you give it a few good tugs.
• Parnaby (5/5): A clean, comfortable home-base if you don’t mind being metres from the main house. - Our stay felt very clean. The ‘Gentle Habits’ products were a warm touch from the owners. The outdoor shower & bath were what struck me when booking. Although we were tentative about privacy from the neighbours, the bathroom seemed to be adequately out of view. The location is great. If you’re looking to use this property as nothing more than a home-base for bathing and sleeping, it would be perfect (And the dogs are super cute!). My partner and I love cooking. We have become accustomed to using minimal kitchenettes to make whole meals. A little induction cooker, as advertised, is perfect. Unfortunately, the ANKO branded induction cook-top was seemingly permanently stuck on child-lock. Despite searching up the specific manual and following the very simple instructions, it would not budge. This was discovered after doing an entire shop for our meal. I was excited to not have to pack my portable bbq, as the advertised ‘Weber’ was available for our use. However, the stock-image of an open flame bbq was not reflected upon arrival, when we discovered it was electric. After a few hours of attempting to cook, McDonald’s was our only option. I was directed to contact the team at Ocean Stays if we had any issues, however, the communication was pretty poor from their end. Hours passed before we received a response, offering no resolution or alternative to our problem. I was told that as far as they were aware, the bbq functioned just fine. This did feel dismissive. It’s a shame the advertising was misleading, as I could have come more prepared if there was more attention to the facilities.
