Guest Reviews
- Thomas (8/5): Hot but delightful, clean and friendly. - The staff were excellent, especially the breakfast staff. Superb service. The room was unbelievably hot. The weather was exceptionally warm, however the room was so much hotter and there didn’t seem to be any way of cooling the room down. Having the fan on and the window open wide only seemed to push hot air around the room. A pleasant stay nevertheless.

- shopaholic (9/5): Picture perfect hotel. - Everything , lovely grounds , staff and food.
Picture perfect The heat in the rooms, very hot and the fans weren't much use.
Not the hotels fault as scorching weather.
Maybe don't turn in the heating in rooms.
But only this minor issue xx

- Christine (10/5): A wonderful place to stay both inside & out. We would definitely stay again if we’re headingthat way - It was situated in a lovely area & maintained to a very good standard. The views from our room overlooking the golf course were delightful. What a lovely touch having two little milk bottles in our fridge for our cups of tea. Our room which was on the ground floor was very stuffy & unable to open any windows, otherwise I cant think of any other negative points.
- Chris (8/5): - Lovely Hotel, in great location, close to Whalley and Clithero
- Michael (10/5): One of the best short stays I have ever had. - Everything about the location and property was excellent. The staff went to a great deal of trouble, and were extremely efficient and pleasant. The views from the room were wonderful. It really couldn’t have been better! There was nothing at all that I would’ve wanted to be different!
- Michele (9/5): - Lovely setting. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.
- Sandra (10/5): Excellent. Would recommend to anyone - Beautiful location, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. The staff were friendly and very helpful. A mention to the lovely Australian lady in the restaurant who was so helpful when my granddaughter had cut her toe! Nothing
- Mona (9/5): Clean and very welcoming staff - It was calm and very clean, the staff were beyond amazing and welcoming
I travel a lot and never saw this type of welcoming in any hotel
The food was great at the resturant at dinner time
I was hoping to find more options for breakfast
Recommended Maybe more options for breakfast

Staff were friendly and room was nice and comfortable. Shower pressure and temperature was a bit hit and miss.

- Catherine (8/5): Good value for a pleasant and restful stayover with a very good breakfast! - The room had a really good sized and comfortable, king bed and the hotel was very pleasant and the noise level was fine given close to a main road and trainlines. The bathroom floor had really bad creaking noises and the catches to open the window were a bit rackety, so when we did need some fresh air and opened the window, again it was noise that became the issue, so we ended up closing it.

- Ball (8/5): Nice, rural retreat. - Great room and location. Lovely staff for the evening meal. Thank you for the birthday card and extra details for my partner and family. Much appreciated! I think breakfast mood/staff a bit miserable.
- Lisa (6/5): Great location. Expensive. Staff could be better - Good location. Expensive for what it is, no staff on the bar. Had to go and find people. Towel rail in bathroom not working. Hense wet towels in the morning.

- Sue (8/5): Great stay and will return - The room was good, clean, warm and had everything you need including toiletries and drinks tea, coffee etc. Plenty of space and good lighting with plenty of useful sockets too! Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and well cooked. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The sink in our room didnt drain well, but we forgot to mention it on departure. It was manageable for teeth cleaning but not great when my husband was trying to shave.
- khakan (9/5): One of the best location in lancashire - Excellent location Everything was good
- Anonymous 23 (10/5): A wonderful stay - The hotel was exceptionally clean and beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast on two days which was delicious. Our rooms wrre spacious and warm. Nothing
- Alasdair (10/5): - Newly refurbished, very smart and comfortable, super-friendly and efficient staff.
- Graham (9/5): -
- Katrina (3/5): - Our room was very nice, it was clean and comfortable. We were at the hotel the night before a wedding. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise for most of the night and then early in the morning again. Our room was in the middle of the bridle suite and make up and right near the outdoor area which lots of people were using at night until 12pm. There was then a party continuing on until at least 2am. I have made a complaint to the hotel about this and awaiting a response as I feel this could have been avoided by giving us a different room away from the bridal party.
- Neil (9/5): -
- Gemma (10/5): Enjoyed our stay - It’s a very beautiful hotel very clean and the staff was very polite and helpful 😘 There’s wasn’t nothing that I did not like about this hotel I would definitely recommend staying here.
- Alan (9/5): Staff were very helpful and attentive, a very pleasant few days stay - Room was excellent but pillows could have been better quality
Breakfast was good Information pack out of date
Breakfast was listed as £15 but it was being charged £16-50
Tried to order a newspaper as in the information pack
Was told that there were no newsagents locally to deliver
- Lesette (10/5): Lovely hotel, great breakfast -

- Wignall (10/5): Very well kept hotel we will be coming back! - I liked that the bar was open until 3am for those staying. This was not advertised however was a decent thing for us as we arrived later on.
I also liked the decor of the hotel itself and the Christmas trees e.c.t We did not get told that the bar was open until 3am for guests, we could have been told.... we also could only get one lot of beers until night time swap over which then took to card only payment. This we also was not aware of so is a good job we had card money.
- David (8/5): -
- Amanda (10/5): - It was very hot - bedroom and at breakfast
- Kevin (10/5): Great Staff and lovely hotel - It’s definitely an impressive looking hotel I was happy with everything
- Sarah (8/5): I was unlucky on this stay. Inconsiderate guest at night. - Clean room and comfy bed. I’ve stayed here a few times before. But this time there were a lot of guests moving through the hallways and banging doors at 2am. I even had a barking dog next door to me. So I did not have a great sleep. Next time I will request a specific room number to avoid the disturbance.
- Benjamin (6/5): Rude staff members - Breakfast took over an hour to arrive. I told the staff member and they just said they were busy. Everyone else in the room had already eaten. Even people arriving to breakfast after us!! They clearly just forgot about our order. Didn’t get an apology either
- Brian (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): -
- yutaka (8/5): くつろげる - 静かな環境。併設のレストランの料理も良かった。 なし
- Aaron (8/5): -
- Nigel (9/5): Very enjoyable - The hotel had been refurbished since my last stay to a very high standard, fantastic job.
Room was lovely and warm, bed was excellent.
Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Drinks were very expensive, got charged £10.50 for a glass of prosecco.
Thought the room price was slightly high but overall good value for money
- Mike (8/5): Very good - It was very welcoming, very clean and well kept. The restaurant was outstanding Our room was the furthest from reception and the shower water pressure was abysmal
No lifts
- Mandy (10/5): Lovely food friendly staff - Clean comfortable bed Shower curtain
- Benjamin (7/5): Lovely. The night porter was fantastic - Not enough breakfast options Improve the breakfast options
- Zeeshaan (10/5): Fantastic - The lovely Matt went above and beyond in assisting me to my room.
- Craig (8/5): -
- Nancy (9/5): -
- Maria (3/5): A good location but not a good stay - Location Noisy, rooms are not insulated properly , you can hear everything from hallways, to rooms upstairs and downstairs .
What’s a shame !
- Purdie (8/5): Enjoy! - Very comfortable warm room (cold room on previous visits)
Liked the new dining room too
Proper milk
Good sized kettle
Bed lovely and comfortable
Good chair and counter for writing No towel rail near basin in batgroom
Not much space to put toothbrush etc
The wee modern bedside lights dont shed light onto the book if reading on the bed
- Steven (8/5): All in all it was a nice place to stay, but doubt I would stay again. That would be my choice - The venue is a very comfortable place to be around . The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I thought that booking dinner bed and breakfast and paying for it would not incure an extra charge after my wife and I did not pick any thing exceptional and did not have a sweet, or coffee.
- Jane (6/5): Overpriced for what you get. - Good shower and bathroom Fire alarm went off briefly very early on Sunday morning which wasn't great. Was pouring with rain when we arrived and there was a huge deep puddle in front of the hotel which meant wet shoes for the rest of the day. Poor service and very long wait for food at breakfast and also very limited choice. I would have expected a much better offering given the price paid for the hotel. Electric car charger very expensive. We stayed here as we had a booking at Northcote, but we wished we had just paid a bit extra and stayed at Northcote instead.
- Janice (10/5): -
- Amanda (8/5): - Location No water in the room
- cindy (8/5): good - Beautiful Area! Bed was a bit hard could use a softer bed..
- Keith (10/5): -
- Brent (9/5): -
- David (7/5): -
- Claire (10/5): - Beautiful location, lovely welcome from the person on reception. Comfortable, spacious, clean room.
- Gareth (10/5): -
- Wei Leng (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): - Paying 25 pounds just to check in early
- Nadine (3/5): I checked out a day early due to noise, too many weddings and other parties taking place right outside my room. I had t - Grounds Bathrooms need to be refurbished - shower very poor, could not get the temperature right, either boiling hot or freezing cold. Tiniest movement of control resulted in extreme temperatures. Also shower needed cleaning, lots of black mould.
All rooms need sound proofing - extremely noisy. Floor above creaked with every movement from the guests in the room. Terrible.
- Bev (10/5): -
- Ross (7/5): Lovely stay, gorgeous grounds and modern rooms. - Beautiful property, rooms were really well appointed and the team were very friendly and welcoming. Flowers through the grounds were beautiful. The bathroom light was motion activated (I think to do with accessibility) but this meant the light was on and off with the fan in the night which woke us both up if nipping to the bathroom. We were on the second floor, there isn’t air conditioning in the rooms, and the window is restricted (safety), a fan was provided but it was stifling. Only a summer time problem I expect.
