Guest Reviews
- Louise (9/5): Enjoyable stay with family. - This is right in the centre of Chester. Very comfortable beds. Great having a parking spot. If you can’t climb stairs, don’t book it. There are quite a few.
- Geraldine (7/5): - Central location Too hot, but this was mainly due to the weather. Should ne fans in all bedrooms
- Ivan (10/5): Night away to celebrate birthdays and the location couldn’t have been better - Fab location, really clean and comfy beds Not really a lounge or sofa to sit on
- Richard (8/5): - Great place to stay in a very central location and parking is a huge bonus. Good communication from the host. We will definitely return and recommend.
- Mason (9/5): -
- Dean (10/5): -
- Vikki (9/5): Characterful accomadation, amazing location. What a gem. - The location is amazing! Directly on the rows. The flat is spacious with amazing character. We stayed as a family and it was perfect for a short break. There wasn't anything we didnt like. Be aware though, as so near to the centre (a huge benefit for us) there is some noise at night. There isn't a lounge, though the rooms and kitchen are spacious. Potential to add some comfy chairs in the kitchen/dining area.
- Erica (8/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Fabulous place , fabulous location. Will definitely stay again Clean and v comfortable - Loved the quirkiness about it We didn’t like the fact there was no lounge. The bedroom next to the kitchen would be better with a sofa in , or a smaller table in the kitchen with a small sofa in the kitchen??
- Jamie-Alexander (3/5): Cold, cold, cold and cold - The design and period of the property Heating doesn’t work
WiFi doesn’t work
TVs have no signal
Freezing cold
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect location to experience Chester - You cannot get a better location. We were so impressed with how accessible everything was. The property itself has been done beautifully and it was so clean and tidy. There wasn’t anything we needed additional to our stay and we can’t believe how spacious it was. We stayed a Saturday and Sunday night and the noise on the Saturday is obviously a lot more than the Sunday. We did expect this though so it wasn’t a problem to us. It was also a bit dark so maybe some additional lights are needed.
- Chloe (10/5): Wonderful place to stay in the heart of Chester - The space was amazing, very clean and tidy and fantastic location! A couple of the lights could do with a brighter bulb as it was alittle dark in the hallway on the night
- Katie (10/5): - We loved staying here. The building was gorgeous and quirky! Spotlessly clean and in an excellent location in the heart of historic Chester. Also great communication from the host. Thank you The only down side is that there are afew bars around so some noise at night but this didnt bother us. Despite this it felt safe and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
- Jasmine (5/5): was very lovely but would have been amazing if the heating was working - great location , very clean, lovely size and gorgeous interior we had no heating or hot water and the property was 10 degrees throughout our stay. we assumed we had set a temperature before going out for the night but when we came back the temperature had not changed
- Rachel (10/5): Short and sweet - Location size Nothing
- Hannah (7/5): Good value city centre location - Great city centre location. Parking space. Spacious. Very clean. Very well stocked kitchen utensils etc. No black out blinds in bedrooms. TV signals would not work.
- Rachel (8/5): -
- Rhianna (10/5): Perfect staycation weekend. - Lovely spacious property, all great bedrooms and facilities. Staff were so helpful and accommodating to any requests especially Ellie. Great location and good for parking in the centre. Couple of bulbs may need replacing in corridor.
- Mike (10/5): - This is a fabulous property right in the heart of bustling Chester. We loved the quirky ceilings and exposed beams. There we everything there you needed for a comfortable stay, including 3 huge super comfy beds. We loved the welcome treat and found the single parking space a gift. We would highly recommend this property and have added it to our favourite list so we can return 😀
We had great interaction with the hosts
10/10 There were no complaints from us.
- Katy (9/5): - Facilities were all amazing! Super comfortable bed and the general decor of the apartment was soo lovely! At times was quite noisy during the night (bedroom next to the main street)
- Jai (10/5): -
- Angie (8/5): Great space - Rooms were a bit dark and some of lights didn't work properly.
- Angela (9/5): - Right in the heart of Chester,
Huge bedroom, comfortable beds .
Very clean , this apartment did not have a living room but we used the large bedroom that had a large settee in as there was 4 of us.
We read it was cold in there but we was so warm . Heating worked great. Top level was not as warm but still fine.
A little noise but did not keep us awake.
Would definitely recommend and would stay here again. Kitchen roll would of been nice but would just take it with us next time,
Smoke alarm was a pain while cooking breakfast or that could if been my cooking!!
Bit of confusion when looking for the door to get in as you can not enter though the front door so use the backdoor to enter where you can park your car .
Once we worked this out you just go up a little entry to main shopping area .
Few flights of stairs to gi to apartment but was not a problem for us
- Paul (8/5): Great location - Excellent location and plenty of room in the property. The parking space was also very handy.
- winelady (8/5): Lovely place, great location, bring earplugs if a light sleeper - Massive apartment as there were only 3 of us. Fantastic location and very quirky layout. Great shower. No lounge area, would have been nice to have a sofa in the kitchen area.
You need to find a way to soundproof the bedroom with windows directly on watergate road. Impossible to sleep till 4am due to very loud people on the row, celebrating graduation on Friday, and just having a loud Saturday night...
- Simon (8/5): Really enjoyed our stay, great location and facilities but one small complaint would be the late night bar directly belo - Location, facilities and ease of finding. Located directly above a late night bar which got very busy and loud.
- David (10/5): -
- Marina (9/5): Excellent location, very comfortable, some facilities needed fixing, but all in all a very enjoyable stay. - Great location. Quirky layout. Clean. TV’s not working.
Front of the oven broken.
Some of the blinds not working.
- Clapton (9/5): -
- Chris (9/5): Would definitely use again if going to the races. - Great location, 5 minute walk to the racecourse and loads of bars and restaurants on the doorstep
- Sarah (9/5): A short stay with family - Close to shops town centre, parking, spacious
Very clean house
Lovely bedding Old windows
- Bates (10/5): -
- Pauline (6/5): Prima verblijf voor meerdere mensen - Grootte van het appartement en de moderne faciliteiten
- Daniel Robb (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - Great location with parking right outside the door. The apartment was clean and modern with everything we needed. Lovely bathroom
- Adam (8/5): Very good - No breakfast N/A
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kath (9/5): Superb -
- Fiona (10/5): Brilliant accommodation, highly recommended - Excellent accommodation, great rooms, comfortable large beds, tvs, coffee machine and lovely soaps, shampoos etc all make a difference. Great location. Easy to find and instructions
- Olga (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abbie (7/5): Good Location - - Excellent Location
- Comfy Beds
- Parking - The property was nicely done, however there were a few things damaged
- The heating was hard to use and we struggled to get it working the first night so it was very cold
- We also stayed on a weekend, so unfortunately, the Saturday night was very noisy as there are lots of bars/clubs very close
- Katie (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - Beautiful property, excellent facilities and very helpful host Our only minor issue was the heating. Lovely and warm when we arrived at 1pm but on our return after an evening out (around 8pm) it was freezing and then very, very cold in the morning. Other than that, highly recommend
- Charlie (8/5): Very good - The parking space for the place is not good and way too cramped as I couldn’t hardly fit my small car in there
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good - Excellent location Heating didn’t work until morning so it was a very cold night sleep
- Sphoorthi (9/5): Superb -
- Kwok (9/5): Perfect for a short stay. Great facilities and very clean. - Right in the center of Chester with a private parking space. Plenty of space for our group of 6, very clean and tidy. Perfect for a a few nights. Due to the nature of the building there was quite a bit of street noise, Especially the bedrooms facing out to high street.
- Alice (8/5): Very good -
- Amy (10/5): Fabulous - Loves every min The quirky stack
- Wendy (9/5): Superb -
- Jonathan (10/5): By far THE coolest place I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in a lot... - Let me preface this by saying I travel. A LOT. I spend 40% + of my year overseas doing photo and video work and have been to many many cool spots all over the world. This was by far my favorite! The location cannot be beat, the mix of history of the building and modern amenities (they renovation on the property was both rustic and beautifully completed) was second to none and the hosts are just lovely. If you are on the fence about renting this property, don't be - simply do yourself a favor and book it - you will not regret it!!!!
- Jason (10/5): Captures the feel of Chester perfectly. - A fantastic period property right in the heart of Chester, warm and comfortable with plenty of space. Modern amenities inside while maintaining the original vibe of the place. Lovely shower and really comfortable large beds. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would highly reccomend. Absolutely nothing I didn't like about the place, only thing I would say is because it is centrally located in the City centre if you are a light sleeper be aware there could be noise from the night life outside, for me though this just added to the overall ambience of the place, so technically loved it too!
- Val (9/5): Superb - The property is in the perfect location. Very spacious and warm and beautifully restored in keeping with the building. Super comfy huge beds! Very clean with everything we needed with digital TV and speaker. Lots of shops, restaurants and bars right on the doorstep . Would definitely recommend and also stay there again if we return to Chester. We had an issue with the front door lock but it was resolved very quickly. Unfortunately storm Darragh visited whilst we were there which meant the windows were draughty. I assume that double glazed windows would not be an option in this beautiful listed building but might be good if some secondary glazing were possible. Also, not a huge problem but there is some noise from the surrounding bars at night time.
- Kirsty (2/5): Very poor - Heating didn't work - the apartment was freezing!!
Windows were leaking and water in and dripping all over the bed.
Lights in the property didn't work so was very dark which caused a big issue with a disabled party member.
Table looked like my 2 year old had put together. I put my bag on it and thought it was going to collapse.
I have contacted the owner to put my complaint through and sent photos but no reply.
- Sharon (10/5): Comfortable - Lovely and clean
Perfect location
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Best part and the icing on the cake was a parking space at the property
Location is excellent right in the middle of the city
- Rosie (8/5): Very good - Everthing
- Bill (8/5): Great location and value for money - Its location Some lights didn’t work and the door didn’t lock
- Jenine (8/5): Clean location excellent - Clean and fresh Noise in the front bedroom with high street starting work at 4am morning however didn’t spoil our stay
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Liis (10/5): We had a lovely time at the property, slept well, cooked a meal, showered and enjoyed the history - Location, the interior, kitchen, shower. An amazing place to stay The tv didn't work. No signal
- Katie (10/5): Totally recommend - Fantastic correspondence with hosts throughout, absolutely stunning accommodation & brilliant location. Coming home!!!!!
- Nigel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anthony (5/5): At half the price I would have been 🙂 but instead I felt taken for a ride 😠 - Location. The property was an historic building that had be expertly renovated. Unfortunately, the use and assignment of spaces was chaotic. The was no real lounge room and there were wired large TV screens I all bedrooms. One bedroom had a TV screen in the middle of the room….very weird. The cleaning fee was outrageous. There were also no instructions how to work anything…. Too much discovery needed.
- Daniel (9/5): Amazing property in the heart of Chester - Lovely old property, very comfortable and couldn’t get a better location Difficult to find entrance with the directions provided
- Sara (10/5): Fantastic location and accommodation - So unusual but stunning in its decor and keeping the traditional features If I had to pick something then a lounge area would be the only thing missing
- Moira (7/5): Good - The location was fantastic. The beds comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Large apartment in a beautiful old-fashioned building which has been nicely renovated. Parking was great, but not for a large car. Lighting very poor, why have dimmer switches everywhere when the highest setting is only dim?
The only relaxing communal area for a 3 double bed property is a 4 seater sofa in one of the bedrooms, or a dining table in the kitchen area, which has no tv.
Better use of the kichen/dining area and hall space could, if rearranged, could accommodate a comfortable communal area.
As mentioned in previous reviews, which have obviously been ignored, there are still no terrestrial tv channels, only subscription tv/YouTube available. The host did arrange for a portable aerial to be installed but unfortunately did not solve the problem.
The tv in each bedroom, when switched on, showed "weak or no signal." No instructions of how, on the remote, to access the available channels. Also, there are no instructions on how to amend the heating settings.
- Julia (6/5): Although the location was great the accommodation was way below what was expected. - Location was good, it was clean and beds were comfortable. The lighting was very poor. The cooker didn’t work properly, there were no dials for the temperature on the oven and the rings didn’t heat up properly. It would have been helpful to have a welcome package in the accommodation rather than having to download it. The information for using the TV was wrong and when asked for the correct email and password it as also wrong.
There was no oat milk or coffee in the accommodation and had to be requested along with a request for toilet rolls and tea towels.
The seating in the bedroom was inadequate. The blinds in most of the rooms were broken.
- Donal (10/5): pleasantly very suprised - If staying in Chester and marvelling at the wooden beam buildings, do one better and actually stay in one. Huge appartment, well fitted, and unique interior. parking for 1 car in yard at back. slap bang in the middle of shops, pubs etc nothing
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (9/5): Awesome - The space and location No living area to lounge
- Samantha (10/5): Lovely and would stay again. - Liked that it had its own parking. Not too far to drive to Chester zoo either. Rooms very spacious could have easily put up a couple of double air beds in 2 of the rooms as well as the beds in there. Tv in every bedroom. The light on the landing kept turning itself off. With it being over the fire escape staircase, I wanted to keep it on for my kids to see thier way to the bathroom in the night.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good - It was rather noisy at night especially at the front bedroom
- Lee (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (9/5): Gorgeous apartment and excellent service - Gorgeous furnishings in a superb location, really felt like a luxury apartment and was perfect for a group of ladies in our late 30s. Owner was so helpful and responded quickly to any messages, went out of their way to help. Would 100% rebook and we’re already planning on coming back here for our next stay in Chester. Location on the Main Street meant that there was some noise from the club downstairs until about 2am, not overly loud from the bedrooms but was there in the background. Also be mindful that the main entrance is down a quiet back street which js dark at night
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (10/5): Lovely apartment, spotless and was allowed to store our cases before check in time. - Perfect spot for shopping and drinks in chester.
Really big bedrooms.
Well equipped.
Spotlessly clean. Just a bit noisy outside till late, and having to walk round the back for entry.
- Emily (10/5): We are booking again for October!!!! Fantastic place - We had the best staying here, the layout of the apartment is fantastic and the beds are so comfortable. It’s in a fantastic location. There’s nothing we didn’t like about the property it was fantastic
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional apartment in the Rows - Extremely well-appointed apartment within the eaves of a historic Rows Building in central Chester. The quirky interior ouzing charm and character, with 3 large bedrooms with comfortable double beds. The kitchen has everything needed for self-catering, including a large cooking range, fridge, freezer, and washing machine. The dining area overlooks the city centre below.
- Michael (7/5): Great location and brilliant host - The property was a great location, very big inside with loads of sleeping, Danielle the owner was a god send sorting out the cleaning and when the fire alarms went off that out very quickly at 4am and also just in general a beautiful apartment! When we first arrived the property wasn’t cleaned but Danielle sorted this very quickly and also sorted our group a few drinks for the troubles! The fire alarm randomly went off at 4am which was annoying but again this was sorted very quickly by Danielle at a very inconvenient time which we appreciated a lot!
- Amanda (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (10/5): Highly recommend.Would definitely book again. - A little rabbit warren in the heart of Chester.Rustic decor to suit the age of the building.Beautiful and tasteful.Super comfy and spotlessly clean.A large screen smart tv in every bedroom which I didn’t expect. The owner messages immediately to any queries I had before arrival. My only tiny gripe is the tv,s were all smart so no ariel connection. Not an issue for young pups just us oldies. Not really an issue though but I do like a bit of Gmtv in the morning.
- Nigel (1/5): Very noisy nightclub till past 1am. - Very loud noise from nightclub opposite till past 1am. Car park space was locked and unusable. The promised vegetable milk was not provided.
- Kate (8/5): Great for 1 night with a family group. - Location and size Felt quite dark.
- Ibukunoluwa (9/5): Superb -
- Pringle (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful apartment in a fantastic location. Spotlessly clean and fully equipped with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Great communication and an easy check-in. We ate at the Olive Tree downstairs which was amazing and were given a 25% off code in the apartments information book. Despite being in such a central location the apartment was really quiet.
- Joanne (8/5): Family stay - Very comfortable beds, right in the city, staff responsive quickly to queries. Clean and atmospheric. The location is both a plus and a bit of a problem if you're a light sleeper-lot of noise especially front bedroom on the weekend. The TVs weren't fully functional, we couldn't access much past iplayer and netflix. The parking space is very tight, our family car just fitted in as the security bar just cleared the bonnet by about an inch.
- Ellbrown07 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danuta (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamsin (7/5): Good - The property had lots of character but also modern facilities. The rooms were huge! The lack of a lounge area meant there was no communal area to relax. The excellent location meant there was fair bit of noise heard from the front room when the street sweeper came round at 5am. Our van did not fit in the parking space.
- Irwin (10/5): Enjoyable - Location outstading A seat in the bedrooms
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jacob (9/5): Perfect stay - Brilliant location, captured the town's feel perfectly and very spacious! Nothing
- Alton (5/5): Visual aesthetic more important than comfort . - Location within the town , apartment with a difference. Main bedroom on the front - so much noise from bar below , went on until gone 1am and then dust lorry/ street sweeper at 5:30am ! Single glazed window , needed secondary glazing . There was not one chair in any bedroom or an area with a sofa to sit and relax with family apart from the table and bench , basic wood ! Lighting designed to match their theme but that meant it was half dark in all areas . Would warn that weekends are likely to be very noisy.
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Niamh (7/5): Would have been better if we didn’t waste time trying to find the property, could have easily been explained. Cannot fau - Central location Poor directions listed - does not explain well where the property is and how to find the parking.
Host did not answer when ringing contact number
- Kristene (9/5): Excellent stay. Really enjoyed it and will stay again - The location was great. Right in the centre of Chester with a private parking space at the rear of the property. Very close to shops, bars and restaurants. Tastefully decorated, very clean and a well equipped kitchen. The apartment was much bigger than we were expecting. The photos don't do it justice. There wasn't really anything we didn't like. For us, it would have been nice to have a lounge area and it was a little noisy on Saturday and Sunday night, because it is so close to the bars and restaurants.
- Andrena (10/5): Exceptional - Wow ....
The facilities and location were amazing, but the building itself was beautiful.
Great communication regarding keys , checkin, and out times .
Wish we could have stayed longer. I definitely recommend this wonderful place . Nothing everything was great
- Sandra (9/5): Had a fantastic time - Lovely apartment , very comfy beds Very noisey but due to location understandable would be a good idea to have earplugs left in the room to lessen the noise especially the front room the others were not too bad
Would be a good idea to
put the apartment number on the address
