- Amanda (3/5): This property was extremely disappointing. My family and I arrived in London late at night, exhausted from travel, only - This property was extremely disappointing. My family and I arrived in London late at night, exhausted from travel, only to find hairs and an insect in the bedsheets and stains on the duvet covers. I immediately contacted House of Kip who then contacted the cleaners. The cleaners arrived the following night and dumped the sheets on the sofa without changing the beds. They didn’t return until the next morning to change the sheets, about 34 hours after I alerted House of Kip to the hygiene issue. In the meantime, my three children spent two nights sleeping on top of the duvets because they didn’t want to sleep in dirty bedsheets.
Also, there were sticky stains on the walls and the cutlery was dirty (we had to clean it). On its website, House of Kip says it cares passionately about the quality of the guest experience. Unfortunately, we were left truly disappointed.
Contact with House of Kip staff through Booking . com was prompt, however I didn’t receive any correspondence or apology from House of Kip management. I’ve also written two emails to House of Kip about my experience. I still haven’t received a reply.
I spent a lot of time trying to fix this problem rather than enjoying the sights of London. This was a complete inconvenience to what should’ve been an enjoyable time in London.
In addition to this, House of Kip charged a massive security deposit through a third-party. While security deposits are normal for rental properties, paying an extra non-refundable fee to a third party is not.
This property could be amazing, but unfortunately my experience was overwhelmingly disappointing. Hygiene must be the first priority in a rental property.
