- Petra (4/5): Poorly managed - Great location, close to Broadbeach shops and beach. Nice view of the ocean Towels were left wet in the dryer and we had to dry them ourselves. There was only one toilet roll for a 4 night stay. There was no hand towel, tea towel, sponge for washing dishes or a cloth to clean the bench top. No complimentary coffee, tea or milk. The pillow cases appeared dirty and the sheets are old and stained.
The only way to contact Management is through Booking.com messages which appears to not be monitored. When I messaged to say there were no bath towels i was told to dry the ones in the dryer. The request for a hand towel was not responded to for 24 hrs. I had to follow up requesting a response. A tea towel and another bath towel was delivered to the apartment but no hand towel or toilet rolls.

Wifi wasn't working and was only advised to 'turn the router on and off' and no response for the remainder of the stay. Lack of kitchenware such as pots, tea towels and a sponge. Elevators either appear instantly or take ages to get to you. Photos are only somewhat accurate

I only had one key and one swipe card say that means we all had to go together if we wanted to go anywhere or you were locked in the building because they swipe key had access to the elevator, even asking for a second key in a second swipe card was not available to pick up this card and the key you had to go to the friendly groceries which is a long distance away from where we were staying and then you had to also return it back after leaving very inconvenient. There was no service for toilet paper or beds and sheets weren’t removed every day. House clean housekeeping was not done. You had to remove your own rubbish every day as well if you’re not a member of the Star you’re charged up to $35 a day for your vehicle to be parked under the carport price is even higher on public holidays and weekends I won’t be staying there again

Missing coffee /tea basics, several breakages not repaired Eg shower head, west facing window shade, bedside light globes missing, no ironing board and damp sheets and towels remained in the dryer on arrival. No ability to make ice cubes, safe was locked, no sponge to clean dishes.

Host was quick to tell me I was too early to check in but didn’t respond at all when asked for an hour extension.
Key pickup is not at the accommodation you have to go a grocer with a rude staff to pickup the keys and if the key is not there you have the pleasure of walking there again to pickup the keys and do another walk to the accommodation.
The bedroom with two twin beds should NOT be classified as a bedroom. It feels like a corridor with some sliding door for privacy without any windows. Too cramped dark and hot for two people. No wonder they didn’t share a photo of it!
The photo showed a large dining area and that was not there. In reality the place is much smaller
- Becky (3/5): Very Disappointing Stay - The good points - The location was perfect, the view was wonderful, facilities within the complex such as the pool, gym and spa were all very good. It was quiet and the size of the apartment was suitable for 2 couples. The room did NOT meet expectations. We are extremely disappointed and despite advising the host of some of the issues they did not bother to respond. Issues: Kitchen had almost no equipment so almost impossible to cook, no toaster, a saucepan lid but no saucepan, just 3 dinner plates, no cooking utensils, no dish clothes etc, Oven was not fixed in properly (very dangerous), no dining table, just a single outdoor chair (hardly outdoor furniture as expected), no hand towels, towels provided were stained, no new toilet paper (just left overs), lots of dirty stains on the carpet, showers were full of black mould, dust everywhere, dirty balcony, single key between 4 people, just 1 sofa - nowhere to sit if there are more than 2 or 3 people, filthy ironing board was found in cupboard. For the price paid we did not expect luxury but this property failed in basic provisions to make the room hospitable. Did not match description on booking.com

- Peter & Debra (4/5): So disappointing - The view is great. Great to stay if you are going to see a show at the casino. We stayed for one night and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The performance we were attending was postponed, and when we asked if our booking could be moved to the new date, we were told to contact a mobile number provided — but our message to owner went unanswered. If you don’t have a car you need to get a taxi or Uber to get the key from on off site location.
To make matters worse, both TVs in the property did not work, and neither did the WiFi. There were also no basic refreshments provided such as tea, coffee, or milk, which would have been appreciated.
Because we didn’t book directly, we were also unable to receive a refund related to the performance cancellation. Overall, it was a frustrating experience and, sadly, a lesson learned for the future.

- Lani (1/5): Horrible - The view The property manager was horrible, we had no hot for 5 days. I called and texted the whole time waiting for someone to fix it. I ended up contacting booking.com and they said that someone had come by to fix it and that was a lie. I’m still waiting on a reply for a partial refund. We have 2 young children and really struggled with no hot water. Will never stay there again.
The couches was dirty, shower was full of mould. Paid over $100 extra just in parking. I do not recommend one bit.

- Alexandra (10/5): Great view!!! - It has an amazing view of the ocean, the river and the city. The pool that we were able to use on Level 20, was good. The beds were very comfortable and the WiFi was perfect. Also there was only one toilet and that made it difficult for accommodating 4 adults. We were 2 couples and there was only one 3 seater couch and 3 bench chairs. The carpet and the couch needed to be steam cleaned. Also, we had no access to the other 2 pools at the Star(level 3 & ground floor).
Also, there were no pots. Only 2 frying pans. We couldn't cook much. The fridge needs to be looked at. The freezer was fine, but the actual fridge didn't hold the coldest temperature.

There were supposed to be two singles in one of the rooms and there wasnt so one person had to sleep on th couch but there was no extra blanket in any of the cupboards. There was so complimentary coffee sachets or little milks in the fridge. The hotel was difficult to find. The reception couldnt help us because we booked via Booking.com and therefore discounted parking at the casino wasnt included. We also had to pick up a key from a local supermarket. When we arrived the bathroom was dirty and the clothes dryer was on so the apartment was stinking hot on an already hot day and one of the windows was broken. It just wasnt a nice stay for the $800 a night that we paid.

For getting the room key, it was very confusing as we were told this:
'Your key is placed at Friendly Grocer Broadbeach Central, located directly opposite the Gold Coast Convention Centre.'
We were only told that parking was not available at the star residence the DAY before arrival which ruined plans.
When we got into the room. We saw dirty bathmat and towels stuffed in the corner of the outdoor balcony. There was mold in the bathroom. There were bandaids stuck on the bed frame. There were stains on the bed and pillowcases. There was also hair on the sheets. The dishes were dirty in the dishwasher, and 'clean dishes' in the cupboard had lipstick around the glass rim. The couches were also stained heavily and stunk.
Unfortunately after we had checked out, we realised we had left something behind in the room and tried to contact the property manager. The owner would not respond to messages about lost property or answer phone calls at all.
It seems like the room was never cleaned.

We had requested an early check in and were led to believe that would occur and then proceeded to ignore our attempts at communication until I said I would give them a review according to their service. They then told us we could get in at 11 and then had the keys dropped to a shop at 11.45. They could have just said no to start with and we could have made other arrangements.

- Holmes (9/5): Great little apartment - very clean and tidy - Extremely clean property with lovely bedding and furniture. Great little apartment with awesome views. Management was very accommodating when we requested an earlier check in if possible. Quite apartment, cannot hear any sounds from the road or neighbours. Amazing location and price. Free wifi and Netflix already in the room. No need to log in. It was a very enjoyable stay. Some feedback that may make your future guests stay even better would be:
- add to the apartment rules page you have in the property to advise where to put your rubbish, I had to google the building map to locate the refuse room. Also add what levels the pool is so guests don't have to ask or look up google.
- Explain how you have to exit, we were parked on level 3M but BC you have to leave the keys in the property, I couldn't scan the lift to stop at that level. In fact I didn't even know you could press level one without the key card, so a little more info on the property page inside the apartment would be really helpful.
-That there is a coffee shop in Dorset on the lower level - again google to the rescue.
- remove the wheels from the bed in the 2nd bedroom...my husband was surfing around the room whenever he turned in bed.
-Remove the white old stained couch that's in front of the balcony door. It's an eyesore and doesn't suit the rest of the modern furniture. I understand you most likely use it to accommodate more ppl but it makes the apartment look nasty.
-We only had one swipe and one key for a one bedroom apartment (the use of the media room is the 2nd bedroom) but you have bedding for up to 7 from what I can tell with all the couches.

Comfortable bed, small apartment but had everything we needed. heated pool/spa available on Level 20. $30+ per day for parking + extra if you come and go. The towels were old and smelt strange. No dish cloth supplied, no complementary tea or coffee, the place is in need of a good clean, the fans hanging off the ceiling are absolutely filthy, carpet in the main bedroom is disgusting.
