• Kevin (10/5): We had a fantastic long weekend in York, and the apartment certainly enhanced the experience. Its comfort, location, and - The apartment is in a fantastic location and is both modern and exceptionally well equipped. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and communication with the management company was prompt, efficient, and helpful throughout. The key collection process via the lockbox was straightforward and convenient, while the dedicated parking space was a valuable added bonus that made our stay even more enjoyable. The only minor downside was that the weather was unusually warm during our stay. Only one of the bedrooms had windows that could be opened, although portable fans were provided in the other rooms to help keep them comfortable.

The shower next to the second bedroom lacked power and looked ‘cheap’ in comparison with the rest of the beautiful apartment

• Karen (9/5): Lovely large apartment ideal for 4 people in a great loaction - location of the apartment meant we could walk to most places easily and plenty of space for 2 couples. Good Hanging space/drawers in the bedrooms Comfortable beds. Well equipped, but watch out; not all glasses are in one cupboard Dishwasher (only 2 tablets, so take some if going for more than 2 nights) washing machine came with 2 pods ; though we didn't use it, Good quality appliances (though we ate out) so never used them . York Stays who manage the property, made contact ahead of our arrival date. No lift in the building. (especially when travelling by train; so plenty of luggage. No option to pay a little extra to access the apartment before 4pm . Check out is a little early at 10am
• Andrew (8/5): We had a lovely stay. The apartment was perfect in so many ways. Location was brilliant. - Lack of ventilation. Luckily our friend with breathing difficulties chose the bedroom where he could open the window especially at night. It became very hot and stuffy at night. A couple of original sash windows were painted shut??? A coffee table and another comfortable easy chair would have been nice. The place mats need cleaning.

Will definitely book again if I return to York. - This is a massive modern apartment in a historic building only steps from the centre of York. It is beautifully appointed and I could have stayed here much longer the the three days we had. Highly recommended. Nothing

Great view of the museum gardens and city wall. Excellent parking. Hard to think of anything! Would rather of had a liquid soap in the dispenser rather than bars of soap but that is being really picky!
• Diane (10/5): Comfortable apartment in a great location - Great location with lovely outlook. The apartment is clean and spacious. We found the sofa a little uncomfortable so perhaps add some more cushions and maybe a couple of comfy chairs.

Very uncomfortable sofa, only one opening window in the apartment, boiler was noisy and had to be turned off so we could sleep. OK for one or two nights but would not recommend for a week.

• Peter (10/5): Our stay was wonderful. - The location of Marygate is perfect; having everything for a city break within a few minutes walk. The apartment has parking for 2 cars but cars are not necessary for a week's stay. River walk just 5 minutes away starting from the Museum Gardens which are just a couple of minutes walk from the apartment. If you continue through the gardens you are in the heart of the city in another minute or two. The Shambles shopping can occupy each day following visits to many attractions (The Minster, Jorvik Centre, York Castle Museum, The York Dungeon, Clifford's Tower, The Railway Museum). The eateries are simply too many to list, and though a bit pricey we never had cause for complaint wherever we ate and so the price was never begrudged. Street Entertainment along with very good buskers add to the charm of walking through the city. All in all even though the weather was not particularly brilliant we had a fantastic stay in 26a Marygate. The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The welcome pack was amazingly generous. We arrived a good hour and a half early and the cleaner was very accommodating and cleaned the fridge freezer first so we could drop off our chilled food before going for a familiarisation walk for the remaining time. I could not really fault the apartment other than the sofa that has no head support, and so when you start to drop off after a whole day walking, your head does the sleep jerk lol. We would definitely book Marygate with StaysYork again if we ever decide to go to York again, no question about it. The only thing that I would change in the apartment is a higher backed sofa, but this in no way detracts but just a modification that would make it even more comfortable.
• Balwinder (7/5): Great location, but level of street noise impacted our stay negatively. - A great location apartment furnished to a really high standard There is a lot of street noise and noise from the adjacent restaurant and bar. If you are a light sleeper make sure you bring your earplugs with you.

• Dr (9/5): An excellent, well proportioned property to make a lovely long weekend close to the city centre. - Very clean and spacious property, beautifully decorated. Excellent amenities inside the property. Lovely welcome present left by the property owners. The ensuite to one of the bedrooms was large. The other bedroom was able to use the bathroom adjacent to the bedroom. Beautiful views from the property as on top floor. Very close to the city centre, making easy to walk in. Found a lovely pub that did special homemade pizzas just a few yards away. We stayed on the top floor, which can be difficult to take large suitcases up, as there is only a staircase and no lift. However, the views mitigated it for me, but for others in the party they struggled a little.

• Michelle (10/5): A really lovely place to stay! - The location was perfect - easy access to the centre, yet a quiet location. The apartment was stunning and would highly recommend it. If ever we were in York again, we would definitely rebook!! Nothing at all. The welcome gift on arrival was lovely and very much appreciated. The kids loved the apartment so much they wanted to move in permanently!
