• Kevin (7/5): Nice unit, great location, communication from the host almost non existent - I want to be fair with this review, despite the major communication issues with the host. The location is great. You need to walk or ride to local restaurant, but that is very easy to do. The unit is very nice 20E (problems mentioned below) with a fantastic view of the ocean and inland. The cleanliness of the common areas of the condo were impeccable. Once I got the phone number for the local person, Ana, communication was very good, even on a Sunday evening when the elevator stopped working and we couldn't get up to our room on the 20th floor. She answered at 8pm and had several people trying to help the situation in just a few minutes. Cudos to her and the others there. We stayed at this condo building 3 other times in the last 5 years, so we were familiar with the building and the typical process. We never dealt with this host before. Communication with the host, Alejandro, was DISMAL. I tried several times to call and msg him, no response. I called Booking.com for help. They tried to contact him as well with no response. They said if he didn't respond by check in time, I could contact them, and they would try to find me a similar unit somewhere in the area. Fortunately, I knew the host had listed the same unit on Airbnb, so I messaged him on that platform. His wife responded right away and told me she would send over the info immediately. 2 1/2 hours later I had received nothing. I contacted them again on Airbnb and he responded he couldn't send me the info because of security reasons. WHAT? I reminded him his wife was going to send the info right away. He then sent me the unit number and the name Ana to meet there. We arrived at the security gate the next afternoon and told the guard the info. He had no information about us. I messaged and called the host, no response. After about 20 minutes, the guard let us in. We went to the admin office and spoke to a very helpful woman Shu. Eventually, a woman, not Ana, who did not speak any English, met us and presented me with the contract and said I must pay her/host $500Pesos/day for electricity. This was not mentioned in the booking and just vaguely in the contract. After some discussion I agreed to pay for the electricity as needed, but not the $500/day they were asking for. The woman agreed. We checked in OK. The fridge didn't work, no coffee maker. They corrected that right away. Some of the lines were torn and stained. Nuts were in the couch. The washer was caked full of powdered detergent and not usable until we cleaned it out. Upon leaving 11 days later, the host msg me that I owed him $500Pesos/day. BTW.
