Guest Reviews
- Stuart (10/5): - The farm is located in beautiful countryside close to Monmouth which is a very convenient base to explore the area. The house had everything we needed with plenty of space for storage. The ponds in front of the house are a haven for wildlife and we could have spent hours watching. Nothing to mention
- VeryBerry (10/5): - The cottage was exceptionally clean and well-equipped. The beds were comfortable, and the living room was cosy, featuring a lovely wood fireplace. Peter and Jane were wonderful hosts, ensuring we had everything necessary for a relaxing stay in this beautiful rural setting. We would certainly love to return.
- Janet (10/5): A very relaxing stay in peaceful surroundings - Second visit here. Really lovely peaceful location but not too far from Monmouth for pubs and restaurants. Very comfy big bed and pillows. The bread, milk, butter and eggs very much appreciated.
- Jessica (10/5): - Lovely hosts and beautiful area. Easy to get to while still feeling remote.
- Steven (10/5): Great value - Clean and cosy Nothing
- PAUL (10/5): Very rural stay , excellent /first class property and hosts that care about the property and guests - This place is amazing and every think catered for and fully furnished to a very high level , the host like the property could not be more lovely. - Helen (9/5): - The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The bed was big and comfortable with lovely linen.
Log burner was cosy, and the bread and eggs, butter, and milk on arrival were a great addition.
- Claire (10/5): Outstanding accommodation in idyllic location - Loved the location and the accommodation. So very homely, spotlessly clean and quiet!
- Nicki (10/5): We cannot recommend this property enough. Great property, helpful hosts, dog friendly. Just book it! - Lovely property, well equipped and spacious, thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property far exceed our expectations, comfortable, everything you need and so much more. We chose here as it was close to family, but oh wow, what a beautiful location. We had a great dog walk in Buckholt woods, a terrific meal in the Old Ferry Inn, a great lunch in Monmouth, and Symonds Yat was breathtaking. Why had we never been here before? We didn’t like leaving. Wish we could have stayed longer… Seriously, there was simply nothing that didn’t exceed our expectations.
- Nico (9/5): Heerlijk. Geweldige gastheer en -dame. - Rustig en schoon verblijf. Mooie wandellocatie. Goede voorzieningen en een perfect bed. Er waren wat weinig pannen en ander keukengerei in de keuken. De pannen waren ook niet van geweldige kwaliteit.

- Michael (10/5): - The quietness and specious cottage, so nice we have rebooked. Absolutely nothing
- Frederique (10/5): - It was our second stay there but this time we went for the smaller house. We were nicely surprised as it was actually bigger than we expected.
Jane and Peter were both there to meet us when we arrived. They are both super friendly and helpful. They make sure everything is in order, are easily reachable if needed.
The house itself is delightful and very comfy, nothing is lacking, it truly was home from home.
The bedroom is big and the bed is sooooo comfortable.
The area is beautiful and very quiet yet within easy reaching distance of most placed we needed/wanted to get to.
We'll be back soon, thank you Jane and Peter. Nothing at all.

The hosts were warm and friendly and willing to help with anything - bread, eggs and milk on arrival were an added bonus, and the wood-burner was great.
- Lucas (10/5): Wonderful few days in a beautiful rural cottage - The hosts were really friendly but left you to enjoy there home and surrounding farm
The cottage was very clean and had everything you need for a short or long stay the cottage was pet friendly and our two poodles loved just laying in there bed in front of the log burner and while it was lovely and sunny during the day. We still lit the fire in the evening. Just personal choice. There are also storage heaters that give off plenty of heat we will defo be going back loved the cottage Nothing to moan about and after speaking ti the hosts it would seem they are always thinking of ways to improve what for us was a lovely place to stay
Well done Peter and Jane it’s lovely to meet people that take pride in there business and the future of it
- Sam (10/5): Relaxing perfect stay - It was perfect. Nothing not to like about it. The cottage is well equipped for all our needs. Huge comfy bed. The views are outstanding, lots of wildlife, ducks, swans, geese, chickens, tortoises, sheep, horses. Wonderful walks. Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. They were very thoughtful leaving us bread, eggs and milk. It’s a wonderful place to relax or even a great base to travel around and see the sites near by. We will definitely recommend and hopefully will be back in the near future. Miss it already!
We used Waze (Sat nav) which took us door to door. Nothing
- Janet (10/5): Great place to recharge and relax. - Beautiful accommodation in peaceful surroundings. Big bed and pillows VERY comfortable in fact the whole cottage was comfortable and had everything we needed. Butter, bread, milk and great eggs were much appreciated. Monmouth only a few miles away with pubs, shops and restaurants.
- Jamie (10/5): Perfect little property with attention to detail a priority! - Very comfortable, peaceful, spotless and a beautiful view out of the property Bit hard to find!! Highly recommend downloading What3words app, will take you straight to the front door!!
More comfortable outside furniture might be nice for summer stays!
- Debbie (10/5): Tranquil, cosy and comfy retreat. - Comfortable, well equipped and lovely comfy bed. Loved the complimentary eggs, bread and butter, so thoughtful. Beautiful surroundings and we were fortunate enough to see lots of baby ducklings! Nothing
- Georgina (10/5): Fabulous cottage on a working farm - This cottage was perfect for 2 people and dog. Lots of space and nicely decorated. It had everything we needed for a short break. We loved being close to the duck pond with entertainment from the zoomy ducklings and over protective swan (no goose was allowed into the water on his watch!) . It was lovely and close to the Forest of Dean and Brecons. The A40 is close but the cottage faces the other way so we didnt hear the road much. The patio area was secure enough for our dog but one of a different size with a bit of persistence could probably have escaped. The hosts were really friendly and helpful too and the welcome of bread, milk, eggs and butter was perfect. Got to give a shout out for the neighbouring farmer too - the local footpaths are not regularly walked and we couldnt work out where the stile was to get back to the cottage. Just as we thought we'd have to turn back, he came over from tree cutting to point out the way. What a star! If I was being really picky Id say the cleanliness of the pots and pans, but that ones on the previous guests rather than the hosts.
- Shelley (10/5): Beautiful cottage - Everything!! Amazing place to stay, everyone is very friendly and the cottage is so comfortable and very modern i could live there permanently 😀 Was a little cold downstairs when we arrived and didn't get warm to well into the next day with both the log burner and electric heater on .
- Kevan (10/5): Perfect place to stay, immaculately clean and tidy, well equipped. - Beautiful location in tranquil countryside It couldn't have been better
- Nigel (10/5): Very relaxing and cosy cottage. We’ll be back! - Very comfortable, high quality and attention to detail. Peter and Jane were excellent, friendly hosts.
- Olena (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage and very welcoming hosts.
- Simon (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay . - Everything . We had a really great stay everything was comfortable and clean and we loved the location. We would come back again. I would have liked the price paid online to inc the extra fee for the dog . I paid that on arrival, which is v unusual in pet friendly accommodation. The owner explained that it works like that with booking.com. This is a minor point as the stay was great .
- Aleks (10/5): Excellent rural getaway - Great location, very clean, very homely.
Peter and Jane are excellent hosts, will be back! Nothing
- Alex (10/5): Perfect place for a nice break, can’t fault anything at all. Hosts were perfect! Would definitely stay again. - Everything! Nothing to not like
- Margaret (10/5): The best cottage we have stayed in - We have just come back from a 3 night break at this amazing cottage. This was a last minute booking, only booked the day before and the best cottage we have ever stayed in. It was exceptionally clean, beautifully furnished and decorated. It had a lovely log burner and my only disappointment was that it was nice weather so we didn’t get to light the fire! The rooms were very spacious, the bedroom having an extra large, extra comfortable bed. The setting was idyllic on what had once seemingly been a farm, swans, ducks, chickens, horses and sheep all around. So peaceful and tranquil. The hosts Jane and Peter made every effort to make sure everything was perfect for our stay with treats of eggs, bread etc. Many thanks to them. This is a real gem and one we definitely intend to visit again.
- Pauline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely quiet location but with easy access to major routes and to all the local towns and tourist attractions. The property is located along a farm driveway, is very well equipped with a full kitchen, living area, washing machine, and outside seating area. The bedroom upstairs is a good size, and the bathroom facilities are excellent. Communication throughout the process was excellent with a personalised webpage to give you all the welcome information that you could need. Definitely worth reading the arrival information beforehand as you may miss the turning into the farm track from the road otherwise! Would definitely stay again when in the area. Thankyou! Nothing, it was a lovely property.
- Gary (10/5): Amazing! - A quiet, rural location yet not a million miles away from civilisation. Local to many attractions. Very friendly and helpful hosts. Very comfortable and well appointed accommodation. Easy parking. Lots of open space for exercising dogs. There was nothing not to like.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Very quiet, great location
- Chris (10/5): Very comfortable - It was such a pleasure to meet with the owners & have the opportunity to stay at such amazing place. I felt at home immediately. Would definitely recommend The peace and tranquility
- Jess (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): A lovely short stay, very friendly welcoming hosts. Would definitely recommend - Lovely peaceful, rural location. Beautifully renovated and maintained Nothing
- Paul (9/5): Great location, Jane and Peter very welcoming, property well furnished nice welcome pack on arriva. -
- Roger (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Highly recommended cottage in a beautiful location - Very peaceful location with beautiful views. Loved the cosy cottage with a wood burner. Fully equipped with everything I needed with the most comfortable bed! Was very clean with a lovely hamper from Jane & Peter on arrival. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended and I shall be back. Loved everything!
- Alison (10/5): Relaxing - Great peaceful location Nothing
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (9/5): Exceptional cottage , tucked away on a farm, couldn’t be more idyllic! Would definitely book to stay there again 😊 -
- Zoe (10/5): Cosy - Very clean, lovely and quiet, perfect short break A sign ,on entrance to the farm, would have been helpful.
- Lisa (10/5): Absolutely wonderful stay - This really was a lovely short break that was better than a Home from Home. Fully equipped, warm and comfortable with hosts that are genuinely lovely people. \
Definitely worthy of a second, third or more visits. Location is peaceful and ideal for sightseeing or just taking it easy. There was nothing to complain about! If I really had to note anything, it would be that the kitchen tap could do with better fitment so that the faucet can be better controlled.
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional - A well-appointed lovely space with high-quality furnishings, a well equipped kitchen, and a lovely log burner. Only a short drive to Monmouth and a lovely countryside location. The host was very welcoming and attentive to messages and any questions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
