Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was blissful. I loved the location that was away from town but close enough to get to… and the property itself was beautiful. Highly recommend. n/a

The place is beautifully designed with a lot of taste, peaceful, quiet, and perfect for relaxing. Ideal for anyone who values comfort, nature, and a calm atmosphere. I would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

• Dominic (10/5): Fantastic place for people with an urge for chilling out - The place is wonderful, like the hosts. Go there, if you want to stay in a very relaxed place where you see nothing but beautiful nature and the people staying there with you.
• Zhou (8/5): Very good - I enjoyed the accommodation, beach access, the eco gym. My family and I enjoyed using the kayak (included in the accommodation). Finger crossed that the road will be repaired annually and more people can use this accommodation.
• Tracey (8/5): Peaceful spot, wonderful hosts but it’s pretty basic - Wonderful hosts, tranquil and peaceful location Biggest complaint but nothing the hosts can do … the road (7.5km) from Mahahual is awful !! This place is very basic, but has everything you need - if you are fussy, don’t go It’s an eco resort so don’t expect hot water

• Jacqueline (9/5): Superb - We had a lovely stay at this eco-friendly and self-sustainable beachfront hotel in Mahahual. The concept of the property is fantastic, and we really appreciated the peaceful location directly on the beach with breathtaking ocean views. The atmosphere was serene and quiet, offering a perfect escape from the busy areas of town. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay, and we also loved having access to kayaks and snorkeling gear, which added a lot of fun to our time there. That said, there were a few challenges we encountered. The hotel is located about 7 km from the center of Mahahual, and while we enjoyed being away from the crowds, the access road to the property was in very poor condition. It’s unpaved and full of large potholes, and after rainfall, it becomes even harder to navigate due to water-filled holes. Many taxi drivers refused to take us there, and even getting a ride back to town was difficult. Thankfully, the owner was kind enough to offer us rides for 200 pesos. Another downside was the condition of the surrounding beaches. While the area directly in front of the hotel was clean, the beaches to the left and right were sadly covered in seagrass and plastic trash. We understand this isn’t something the owners can control, but it was disheartening to see.

• Joost (4/5): Disappointing - Please be aware that the beachfront of the accomodation can be full of seagrass (Sargassum). This made us decide to cancel our stay. The whole beach was covered and smelling. Even the sea water was brownish and unclear. If you do not want to get surprised and your stay being ruined upon arival, call the owner in advance to check the situation! The owner did not informed us in advance on the very bad Sargassum situation.

• Caleb (8/5): Highly recommended. Great staff, great view, great experience and excellent room with seaview. - The location was awesome!! We enjoyed the sea front room, which was very cool in the night time. The wonderful view in the morning and night time was a plus. We also had the chance to walk the beach early in the morning which was beautiful and satisfying. Finally, the ability to swim a few feet away from the room at any given time of the day was the topping on the cake. The only thing that was a bit frustrating was the quality of the road. Although not something within the control of the location, it still affected the travelling to and from the location. We could have made to the center and back in little time but due to the road quality, we had to spend quite sometime travelling to not negatively impact the vehicle.

• William (9/5): Superb - Spent 10 wonderful days here living right next to the beach. The place is isolated and depends on solar for electricity and is approx 8 km from town so is very quiet save for the birds and lapping waves. It helps if you have a car. Closest restaurant is a 20 minute walk, though breakfast is provided at the hotel. Excellent wifi. Much thanks to Debbie, Anika and the 3 dogs for creating an excellent atmosphere. Loved our relaxing time there
• Verena (10/5): Exceptional - This place is so relaxing! It's very simple and off grid and remote which makes you feel like you are away from all the stress of the world. The staff was the best and felt like family after just one day. My nervous system was completely reset here...
• Eric (10/5): Unique experience in the wilderness, a beach and the sun! - I would go there again for the fantastic location on the beach. It is a minimalist experience, close to nature and to things which are important in life. Don't go there if you look for a cheap alternative to a 5-star hotels - that won't work.

• Constanza (10/5): Peaceful, sustainable and friendly place to stay! - Beautiful and peaceful place. Love the food, customer service was excellent, the staff and the owner was so friendly, always with a smile, explaining us about their sustainable place, using water from the rain and solar energy . My dogs loved the place, also myself and my husband. The main idea was to relax, and even though the weather was super cold and rainy 1 day, everything was amazing, exceeded our expectations. For sure we will come back with family, with friends or just the 2 of us for a romantic trip again.

• Jacek (9/5): Piece of paradise at the end of the World - It's a long and bumpy road to get here, the amenities are rather basic, and there's nothing in the area. However, the location makes this place unique and it is worth visiting. If you like nature, good people, and a calm space for relaxation – it is a place for you. You will live directly on the beach, in the nice hut under the palm trees, a few steps from the ocean. Sunrises and night sky are amazing here. You can relax on the beach, use chairs, beds, outdoor gym, hammocks, or take the kayak and swim to the nearby reef. The Internet connection is excellent. Gemma and Ricardo run the place and are lovely people and great hosts. They take good care of their guests. Gemma is very kind, and helpful and can teach you some yoga if you like. They also offer a large selection of food and drinks, so you do not need to ride anywhere and can just lay on the beach, enjoy and relax.
• Deborah (10/5): We really enjoyed out time at Lunazul, we felt very “at home “ and would love to return again. - Very peaceful. Owners were lovely, gracious, welcoming. Great spot with lots of outdoor hammocks, chairs etc to be by the water. Food was delicious. It is a rustic location, if that is understood, it is a great place to spend a few days……or MORE!! The road out of Mahahual is pretty rough, not easy to get there!

Access to kayaks & snorkelling. Diving opportunities. We loved it all. Jungle location so we recommend bringing insect repellent. Just to be aware A couple of friendly dogs in residence.
