Guest Reviews
- Sandeep (6/5): - Stayed 4 nights with family n friends . Quite and peaceful resort. Food even the breakfast buffet with very minimal choices and even no taste which was biggest upset . Other than that some washroom needs renovation.
- Daiana (10/5): - My experience was simply amazing. All the staffs were excellent, helpfull, and attentive. I strongly recomend Payogan
- Clarissa (7/5): - I love the ‘temple vibes’ of this villas. Very nice swimming pool and spacious villa. Their spa & gym is closed too early. (4PM) We wished it was open at night.

- Cassandra (9/5): Lovely stay and would recommend - Our pool villa was so spacious and beautiful. Whole restore was beautiful Took too long to get to town with the traffic
- Melanie (7/5): takes 30-40 mins drive into the main shopping/ding/Palace area of Ubud (not 15 mins quoted) due to extremely hea - gorgeous grounds and views, huge villas - this should be a 4.5 star resort, but felt like a 3-star unfortunately restaurant was not good at all / the worst in all of our Bali travels. Awful food (breakfast and dinner), overstaffed with virtually no one dining there, no music or ambience. Utterly empty in high season. We regretted not sending our meals back, which we’ve never had to do in years of world travels.
- Nadiya (8/5): Great location and staff were very helpful -

- Viktoriya (1/5): -
- McHenry (8/5): - Beautiful location
- Marie (6/5): Travel to and from Denpasar airport to Ubud is very painful - Liked having the private pool Overall ambiance
- Ali (9/5): Great 👍🏻 resort - All was nice and good No thing
- Yzaguirre (10/5): - The view, the friendly staff, our villa was beautiful Construction is still on going but hardly noticeable
- Miriam (10/5): -
- srinivas (9/5): -
- Eva (10/5): - A természet, dzsungel érzés.
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keval (2/5): Very poor -
- Khushal (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing was very best Wifi signal connectivity need to be improved
- Mandy (10/5): We had a wonderful, relaxing time. Everything was picture perfect. - The room was beautiful, the pool was perfection, you can’t beat the view. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food was great.
- Amanda (7/5): Lovely place but probably wouldn’t go back. Location a bit inconvenient and the rooms didn’t feel inviting. - Lovely resort area. Everything was clean. Outdoor pool was nice. Disappointed in how empty and uninviting the rooms felt. Some rugs or couches would have been a nice touch.
- Ana (6/5): Just the garden was ok - The garden If I come to Ubud again I would definitely not come here. I had the 2 bedroom villa and the pool, the garden and the pool were very beautiful and well maintained but the rooms... every day they put the AC on the lowest temperature because otherwise it smelled so bad you couldn't stay. When I wanted to put the lid on the bathtub, a frog jumped out of it, which is why I didn't take a bath in the bathtub anymore, only a shower, anyway everything seemed questionable and superficially cleaned. I didn't sleep with the AC on and in the morning everything smelled even though I kept the bathroom door closed. We had breakfast on the water in the pool which was a joke: an omelette, a juice from a box, 2 slices of bread with butter and jam and 1 plain old croissant, (for vegans they took out the omelette but didn't put anything in return, meaning we couldn't eat anything) everything wrapped in plastic without flowers or any other arrangement beside it and obviously after many phone calls they came 25 minutes late when the guide was already waiting for us at the reception.
- Sagar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dhinakaran (10/5): excellent stay :) -
- Paul (10/5): Gorgeous place. Breathtaking views with beautiful facilities. We would definitely stay here again ❤️ - It was so picturesque. Our room was beautiful and we really enjoyed the peace and quiet after staying in Legian for 10 days. The staff were so helpful and very friendly. Would have loved to stay for a few more days ❤️ The only thing we could suggest for improvement was a bigger TV. It was a little hard to see it from our bed but In saying that, we were not there to watch TV.
- Goswami (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sabrina (7/5): Family trip - beautiful hotel, food was good and staff were OK as well. The hotel felt very impersonal due to it being a large resort. Other hotels were more homely and true Balinese style
- Harshith (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (9/5): Refreshing, peaceful, awesome views - We liked being out of town, no noise, peaceful, in nature. The breakfast was great and so was dinner and very reasonably priced too. The Villa was perfect for our family get away and was very private too. Having our own pool was just amazing The beds were a bit like sleeping on a rock.
The steps to the pool need a bit of maintenance as some were a bit broken and wobbly. The top floor did get a bit warm despite the aircon being on.
- James (5/5): Passable - Quiet, large room, fantastic location, great views. Hotel staff did their very best. The reception staff were excellent The property is looking jaded and tired with lots of maintenance issues which is a shame as its not so old. Dinner in the hotel was ‘ok’ at best.
- Susan (8/5): Nice place - Lovely villa, own pool, clean Service very slow, took 30 mins to get our drinks
- Gaurav (6/5): It’s an okay property about 15 mins from Ubud central and is poorly maintained. Won’t stay here again. - It’s a massive property set amidst a forest with a small river flowing inside the properly but is poorly maintained. We booked a Garden villa which has a bathroom outside the room and it gave us an haunted house feeling in the night. Later the room was changed and upgraded to a pool villa as water wasn’t coming in the earlier one. The upgraded one was a huge one room studio but again the furniture was too old, creaking from everywhere. Overall it wasn’t a pleasant stay though the property has so much potential to be the best one. Management has to spend some dollars for its upkeep which sadly isn’t taken care of. Covered above.
- E. (10/5): The Payogan offers an unbeatable ambiance and service. The facility has the atmosphere of a temple hidden in the jungle. -
- Hanna (6/5): Lovely place. Bit overpriced. - The location was amazing , right in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful views! 30 mins by car to Ubud
Lovely pool, the service from the staff was really good ( especially from the girls )
Restaurant was good, food was good , drinks were good. Pool on the villa was really nice and bathroom was great Furniture was outdated , could be better quality. Tv was working not perfectly .
WiFi was pretty bad, kept kicking us out and very slowly. Restaurant food very pricey , the same massages, extra services and activities overpriced a bit . When we checked out I was asked for a water ( literally just after paying the bill) and they told me I had to buy it and charged us 60k for 2 bottles!! Which should be for free ! The shuttle was a good idea but very inconsistent, sometimes didn’t come at all, sometimes half an hour delay. Also when we ordered a grab from hotel there was a grab driver already there and trying to do things outside of the app and pushing us to go to different places. How he passed the security??also when asked for help to get tickets for boat to Gili they sold us them for 1M ( including pick up) and the boat was the cheapest one, overcrowded and unsafe! When I specifically asked for a good boat . They clearly made lots of money for buying those tickets- at least they could give us tickets for good boat
- Iceman8888 (6/5): Comfortable stay at a reasonable price, property has a lot of potential though. - Room: Room was big and nice, A/C was comfortable and always worked. The bed was big and super comfortable.
Food: Breakfast spread was decent.
Property: The property is quite huge. The ambience was also good throughout our 3 nights stay. The staff was courteous and always helpful. Pool is also very good. Bike rental facility was also quite reasonable at the hotel. Rooms: The rooms need a refresh. E.g. TV was quite small, was somehow facing the wrong direction from the bed, was also not a smart TV. The shower in the tub was broken.
Food: Apart from the included breakfast, we only ate one meal at the property and we as vegetarian family found it was just OK.
Facilities: Fish ponds all over the property are not clean; esp. the one in the restaurant. The spa - which was our main reason for booking a spa hotel, was fully booked over the weekend, we were quite surprised that the it closes at 4pm despite of high demand. Nevertheless, there are many spas in Ubud that are always welcoming and open till 10 pm.
Location: The property is farther from the main Ubud market and the traffic makes it very difficult to use the hotel provided shuttle. Best to rent a bike from the hotel and dash to places as needed.
- Sabnis (5/5): Lots of room for improvement! Not up to mark ! - The room ( Pool Villa) was spacious and nice ..the location is awesome with a nice forest view from Balcony ..the pool is nice with a infinity kind of view ..but the service is absolutely not up to the mark ...the pool and other amenities in the Villa were good ..The food at the restaurant was nice but won't take orders beyond 10 AC wasn't working in the room ..one day the water went off in the washroom which wasn't even informed to us ..the staff isn't capable enough to handle all this and at times seem rude ..there's no option of dining even in the room beyond 10 ..in case you reach late you won't get any food ! Even no room service beyond 10 ! So didn't feel worth the price at all !!
- Ramy (7/5): Good -
- Pam (8/5): Great stay thank you - The private pool with the villa was great
- Bilal (10/5): Very nice quiet area - Location More food options
- Jenni (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful location and professional staff
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deepak (8/5): Awesome - Over all ambience of the property, villa was great, it is in the heart of nature. Some furniture was quite old and need replacement.
- Read (9/5): Superb -
- Clare (7/5): Amazing location for a relaxing, peaceful holiday - the location is beautiful, staff very helpful, rooms were huge, great selection of food at the restaurant no information or help to discuss tours or what to see in the area with children from the staff or in our room, the fee shuttle to Ubud was only every 3 hours - too long with children in the heat, an early bus at say 7.30 or 8am would be great so we could have walked early in the morning before it got too hot, would be helpful with kids if dinner could start at 6pm rather than 7pm.
- Andreas (9/5): Superb - Located inside the jungle, next to a small river, 15-20 min from ubud central depending on the traffic. Great view, and the hotel was harmonic blended into the jungle environment. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Restaurant's food was decent but since ubud central is nearby that is not a big problem.
- Sadeeka (10/5): Excellent - Breakfast was awesome Nothing
- Jacob (8/5): Some of the best value for money in Ubud in the $110-150 price range. - Beautiful grounds with a deep jungle feel. This is a resort that is great value for money when you are seeking space, privacy, and pool with a view. The staff is exceptional and assisted with moving our room to an improved view upon request. We are comfortable with a little nature coming into the room and the bug nets around the bed worked just fine.
- Kareem (7/5): Good -
- Camilla (9/5): Wonderful stay in a quiet location - Beautiful property, we stayed in a villa with private pool, it was so private, peaceful and relaxing. The villa itself was spacious and comfortable. All staff were so friendly and welcoming and the main pool area was also lovely. Breakfast was lovely, a nice choice and very fresh. We ate in the restaurant the first night we arrived and the food was also very good. Free shuttle to Ubud market was great too.
- Dr.reem (8/5): Very good - Villas with greens
- Arijit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sonja (9/5): We based ourselves at Ubud on recommendation of our daughter and weren't disappointed. - Spacious and air conditioned rooms, very comfortable bed, pool was a welcome addition to cope with humidity. All good
- Brock (9/5): Amazing views, fantastic services, luxurious villas and will definitely be coming back here. - Floating breakfast was excellent, breakfast buffet was comprehensive and good quality food.
The location was amazing with unbeatable views out over the valley.
The infinity pool really added to the view.
Shuttle bus to Ubud station is a fantastic service provided by the hotel.
Staff are super friendly and willing to go the extra mile for visitors.
The villas are super luxurious and the value for money is unbeatable. Some bed sheets had a few small stains.
One staff member provided conflicting information about organising the shuttle bus. I assume this was down to a miscommunication and didn't affect my perception of the hotel or rest of the staff.
- Anas (8/5): Very good - It's clean and comfortable It's scary at night especially with the photos on the room wall
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. Best place I have stayed in my life. The villa was absolutely gorgeous with an amazing private pool. The complex in itself is great as well with good food and a big common pool. Loved everything
- Sue (9/5): Very private villas. - Very quiet and private villas, we felt very secluded. Our private pool looked over lush green jungle. Bed was large and comfy. Staff were very attentive and helpful. Location was a bit remote from centre of Ubud, but there was a free shuttle every two hours.
- Vijay (9/5): Terrific stay for families - Beautiful property, villas, wonderful staff Can't think of anything.
- Gabriel (8/5): Very good - Beautiful views and gardens. Relaxing. Nice ambient. Nice staff always ready to asist . Big resort on 7 hectars you can do relaxing walks inside tropical gardens. Suitable for couples and families . Phone don't work safety box don't work doors not closing right light mising . All small things . The staff come fast and fix everything . Wonderful balinese people.
- Til (7/5): Good - A visit to Payogan was enjoyable. Beautiful spaces and resort. The food was average, and overall, it seems a bit worn out (you can notice it's not new). Unpleasant odor in the bathroom of the top villa, and the air conditioning was quite loud. Its ok.
- Gaurav (5/5): Passable -
- Ahmed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sameh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - The grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained, the villa was great, very spacious and comfortable with a great, clean and perfect temperature controlled pool. The food was excellent, staff gave us a very personalised experience from beginning to end and the manager cam to meet us on checkout. Any small issue we faced or any request was processed so quickly and we were updated. I've travelled all over the world and live in Dubai with many world class hotels, but never had such exceptional guest experiences like we did here and never had a send-off from the team like this. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Simply amazing! That we couldn't stay even longer :)

- Amrit (7/5): Good -
- Manan (7/5): Good -
- Lucy (1/5): Very disappointing, expensive and run down, we left early - Nice main pool and private pool. Free shuttle into Ubud centre. Really expensive. Very run down. Wifi did not work and TV broken in room. Food from Balinese BBQ made me sick, the chef was cooking raw chicken and fish on the same hot plate. Plinth under bed very dangerous, I slipped off it twice and I’m pregnant so this was very scary. The staff ask you 10 times a day what your room number is, even when just walking about the resort. I was pressured into signing a form excluding me from claiming a refund when we chose to leave 3-days early as this hotel was nothing like it was advertised. Stay elsewhere in Ubud, this hotel cost us £450 per night and basic services did not work.
- Pragyan (8/5): Very good -
- Yunshang (9/5): Superb - Nice hotel and room set up
- Susan (6/5): Little deflated. - Location, very near to Ubud centre. Shuttle great. Staff pleasant, polite & friendly. LOTS of steps, but hotel buggy will drive you to your room Reported that my daughter’s room had a terrible sewage smell - she often slept in our room on the sofa. We reported the issues several times, lots of promises to sort the issue out but nothing happened 🥲 Resort needs an update/lots of maintenance issues😱
- Mohammed (8/5): Very good -
- Malek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ally (10/5): Slice of heaven in Ubud - Such a beautiful resort. The rooms are huge and we immediately felt relaxed. The staff are so wonderful and welcoming they felt like family. They loved our little girl and she was so excited to see them every day. It was really really hard to leave! We spent 6 nights there. Its about a 10
Minute drive to ubud main center which was perfect for us. The only thing I didn’t like and it is not the hotels fault at all is the mosquitoes! They provide a citronella candle outside but maybe some mosquito spray too would help.
- Ahmed (8/5): Overall very good experience - The hotel is very nice especially for couples and families. very good view. Also the staff is very friendly and you should ask for Wayan when you come here he is very helpful man
- Daniel (9/5): A beautiful place to stay! - The room was clean and spacious. We loved the outdoor spa and shower. The buffet breakfasts were great and all the staff were very lovely and helpful. We appreciated the free shuttle bus into the centre of town. The property is beautiful and peaceful. We loved sitting by the pool and admiring the tropical forest views!
- Shobhit (6/5): Pleasant -
