Guest Reviews
- Jaz (10/5): - The host was very friendly and welcoming, the location was in a nice and quiet rural area which felt very peaceful
- Pen1969 (9/5): - Excellent breakfast and really friendly proprietor Nothing
- John (8/5): - Good location, excellent breakfast, friendly host Poor shower pressure
- Ben (10/5): - Lovely lady
- sarah (8/5): -
- Bailey (10/5): - Margaret was a lovely host. Did a lovely breakfast. She was friendly and helpful. I think the only thing was the pressure of the shower however, Margaret did warn us about it.
- Sylviane (2/5): - We expected accommodation with one double bed and two singles for four people (a couple with two children) at £240 per night. Cleanliness was below standard and comfort was unacceptable. The place was smelly and this caused us to leave in the morning like we were running away from a didsster.Charging £240 for one night with a single small double bed for four guests is unreasonable.
- Lynda (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Margaret was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend staying here. - Perfect location for our visit.
- Marius (7/5): Good -
- Louis (8/5): Great host and Accomodation - The peace and quiet Nothing
- Catherine (10/5): Friendly, warm welcome at this lovely guest house - The host was very friendly and we had some great conversation. The breakfast was the best I’ve tasted in ages! Nothing
- Dave (10/5): Ideal for a quiet business trip. - It was so peaceful there. No electric buizzing all you could hear were the birds singing. My breakfast was perfectly made by the host. N/A
- Todorov (7/5): Good - Friendly staff Small bathroom and low water pressure
- Stephen (6/5): Quite happy with the stay - Location great, breakfast lovely, bedding clean, place ready fora renovation. Smell of cats as you enter building. Clendliness
- Henley (9/5): Perfect place for a short stay - Very friendly host. Lovely property and great breakfast
- Ades (8/5): Very good - Good communication, good breakfast, friendly host
- Stavri (8/5): Very good - The host was very friendly and welcoming. Made us feel at home and cooked a delicious breakfast for us in the morning. Hard to find in the dark as it’s not sign posted. Also bedding had an odd smell. Not necessarily unclean, maybe a bit on the old side.
- Kiran (10/5): Exceptional -
- Baker (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ken (10/5): Enjoyable stay and convenient for visiting the area. Helpful and friendly owner. - Comfortable and clean bedroom and shower room. Good breakfast and friendly and helpful owner. No issues
- Sue (6/5): Just what I needed - Very helpful proprietor, good breakfast, I had to stay out late and had a key to the front door Very old fashioned. No privacy at breakfast
- Liberty (3/5): An interesting experience with a cheerful host - Overall the cooked breakfast good, with plenty of beans, sausage, mushrooms and bacon on the plate. coffee served in cafetiere was good. very friendly welcome and the host was very helpful. Bed was very comfortable and everything was clean.
It was more of a private house with rooms than a purpose built b&b which made a change and the host is cheery and seems to work extremely hard to cook, clean and make it comfortable, as well as offering tips on where to eat in the local area. There is a garden centre nearby and a pub called the Curious Cat is walking distance down a nearby footpath that skirts fields. About ten minutes walk but you would need a torch if coming back along the path after dark.
Lovely walks round about. Dogs welcome (£15 a day) and countryside flat so can walk them without strain. Breakfast sausages seemed a bit tough skinned, wondered if they were precooked. Toast cold.
Room layout quite awkward, maybe bed head could have been under window. Tv was also quite difficult to view.
I had a rather awkward trip to the ensuite which was very compact. I did not use the shower as it has a big step up to it. Taps had round plastic tops which I found difficult to turn.
The room was in need of redecoration and the sofa had a ripped cushion. We had to move a lot of cushions to sit on it.
The landing stairs are steep for anyone with arthritis or frailty. Furnishings and carpets, ensuite and furniture could do with a change. I would recommend painting, redecoration and refitting, but it was certainly not lacking in character.
Kent does not seem to have dog litter bins so we had to bag it up and find a black bin to put it in.
It was quite difficult to find as it is out in the countryside away from the centre of Herne Bay. It was only a short drive away from there once you got used to it but that didn't happen until day 2
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Elliott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (3/5): Disappointing and poor value for money. - Room was a good size. Bathroom very poor. Mould around base of shower and on the ceiling as well. Shower head was broken and could not be adjusted so sprayed water at waist height only.
Breakfast choice was very poor with only cooked breakfast being offered. After discussion weetabix was offered but no museli, fruit or yogurt available.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Felton (8/5): A short but pleasant stay. Would definitely recommend the area overall to others to visit. - Friendly and welcoming host. Very accommodating. There was a cat inside the house which I wasn’t too excited about, given that I am allergic. Having said that, the host did make the effort to keep it in a separate area.
- Debbie (9/5): I would recommend and I would stay again - Margaret is a lovely host. Bed was very comfy and breakfast was lovely. Was very happy No hair dryer in room
- Ralph (7/5): family business with experienced host, helpful with local knowledge. - The host made us feel welcome no background music at breakfast, narrow lanes with blind corners.
- Icdmg (10/5): Short but sweet - Friendly, engaging and helpful owner Nothing noted
- Luis (8/5): Very good -
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (6/5): Adequate but nothing special… - Clean and comfortable…
My host was welcoming and helpful. Very dated decor and facilities. Shower just about adequate. No nice touches, all feels 10 years behind the curve…
- Irmina (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (7/5): Lovely little place in the country! - Pleasant. comfortable one night stay. Full English cooked breakfast was made to order so came hot and was very nice, toast and tea included. Room was comfortable and clean and the whole premises was based within a family, welcoming home. Margaret, the owner, was very friendly and had great local knowledge of Canterbury and surrounding area. Out of town and a little difficult to find in the dark by satnav.
- David (10/5): A nice place to explore Canterbury from very relaxing very comfortable. - Are very accommodating, hostess, Margaret. Such a joy to talk with. Very clean large room out in the country.
- Neil (10/5): Lovely - Very friendly staff and a warm and welcoming environment. Good bus links to Canterbury as well. Excellent shower and comfy beds and peaceful and quiet as well. Nice full english breakfast.
- Karim (7/5): Good - Nice and friendly atmosphere Not applicable
- Carrianne (9/5): Lovely, friendly and a delight to visit. - My room was comfortable and the proprietor was a delight. She was very friendly and nothing was too much for her. Breakfast was lovely and could be served at what what time I want 🤗 The only thing I would say is it’s not very well signposted so I drove passed it.
- Maria (1/5): Bad - Owner nice Rooms has issues
- Jekaterina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vera (9/5): In overall, it was nice stay. - Breakfast was excellent! We chose full english. Child had cereals on her choice.
The location of hotes is absolutely fantastic, very quiet area. We slept with the opened windows and didn't hear any noises.
Staff (she is probably owner) is a great person, nice and friendly. She really did our stay so positive. We wish all the best! The bed for child was very small. We must push two beds together to create one big space for all of us.
- Ruth (10/5): Great stay all round . - Margaret was the perfect host. Beautiful house and a lovely location . Nothing to dislike
- Derek (3/5): Very tired accommodation - The host and the location Facilities, decor, general cleanliness
- Johann (8/5): Good facilities and the best full english breakfast ever - The room was spacious with everything needed for a short stay. Everything has cleaned to a high standard and the shower had decent warm water. The full english breakfast option was superb with quality food supplied and a portion size which would probably see you through the whole day. One of the best we've ever had. The host was delightful and provided information about sightseeing options in the area. Situated close to Herne Bay in quiet, rural setting. The bed could be more comfortable, but because both of us suffer from sports injuries we could comment that on most B&Bs and medium budget hotels, so not seen as a negative for this establishment.
- Kelly&vic (7/5): Good - The host Margaret was extremely attentive. The breakfast amazing.
- Alexander (5/5): Passable -
- Anthony (9/5): Really helpful in time of need :) - Lovely owner, very attentive and really welcoming. Nothing
- Bangqiong (8/5): Very good - Margaret is a wonderful host. We enjoy the breakfast.
- Robert (10/5): Highly recommended, excellent service, excellent location. - The location was perfect, in a quiet setting with lovely views. The management were really accommodating to our needs as it was not a planned visit but a necessity due to a family emergency. Highly recommended.
- Ivo (7/5): Good , worth of money - Private parking, breakfast Music from bar which is open can be heard in the room
- Ian (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was great, and Margaret a lovely host.
- Mohammed (5/5): Passable -
- Elaine (4/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was fine House was very run down. Thought it was empty as weeds were growing everywhere including gutters. Took 10mins to boil kettle. Bed was hard like sleeping on the floor. Stayed only 1 night instead of 2.
- Olga (9/5): Superb - The lovely hostess, the breakfast.
- Karakan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martine (8/5): Very good - Friendly landlady and tidy clean room but so hot and double bed not so comfortable when used to king-size at home .Did not check distance of place from Herne bay itself either.mistakrs.
Good room and breakfast. Bed too small
- Ann (10/5): Superb getaway with plenty of space for a bigger group if required. - Our host was great. Breakfast was great and the countryside location was very peaceful. Wonderful to wander through and explore.Highly recommended.
- Sian (9/5): Lovely short stay - Extremely friendly and helpful owner. Makes you feel at home there. Breakfast was fantastic and prepared at a time that suited me. Bathroom could do with some updates in the room I stayed in, but otherwise a lovely room
- Valentina (8/5): perfect Holiday! - The lady was very kind and supportive for any request [kids requests most of the time :))] she also offered coco pops for the little one for breakfast! Perfect location for Canterbury and Margate! All perfectly clean, very comfy beds and pillows! Lovely breakfast ! Nothing was missing! Thank you!
- Simon (10/5): Margaret was lovely, house was lovely and bedroom comfortable, what else could you ask for - friendly owner , very clean , made to feel at home n/a

- Soni (8/5): Very good - There should be board or something to find location. It was difficult to find the place in dark
- Lawrance (9/5): Superb -
- Nadine (7/5): Good -
- Caroline (8/5): Very good -
- Elevate (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Good experience - Lovely hostess and clean beddings Shower head too small, so is the bathroom a bit tight
- Denizel (9/5): Superb -
- Amy (8/5): Good place to stay if looking for a quiet lodging with a great breakfast. - Our vegetarian full english breakfast was made to order, it was delicious! It made the stay a much better value. The host was super friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again if in that area. We thought the price was a bit high. The mattress was thin with solid wood underneath...though we slept well. It was also a bit of a drive to get to Canterbury. Prices were high everywhere in that area though.
- Hilary (7/5): Good - Margaret was a great host, cooking us a late breakfast after we had returned from Whitstable parkrun. Seemed quite expensive though and an extra £15 for our dog.
- Hilary (7/5): Good - Great breakfast and lovely host
- Tara (10/5): Everything was perfect. - Fantastic B&B 👍 the room was very spacious, which suited for us as we stopped here for 6 nights.
location was great, not to far away from everything,
Even a bus stop at the end of the road.
Breakfast was excellent 😁 full up everyday.
Margaret the owner, lovely lovely lady,
Very chatty and very friendly 😁
Definitely would come back 😁
- Emanuele (8/5): A quick lovely stay in the Kent fresh nature and countryside - The place is very quiet, lovely and it has an average cool privacy feeling about it. The owner is a lovely gentle and helpful and very kind lady. Breakfast was served with very delicious food and fresh drinks. Room was big and clean , just what you need It might be a bit difficult to find as it is located on a very narrow and sided country street
Sometimes you can hear too much noise from other rooms
- Rob (9/5): Superb - Nice and quiet location down a country lane. I asked about the local pub, which was a 7 minute walk away and had a good meal and tried some local beers.
Agreed a time for breakfast and it was there ready for me, nice and fresh. All good.
- Jessica (10/5): A lovely relaxing stay - It was lovely. The room was well fitted out, comfortable and airy. Margaret, the hostess, was very welcoming. I was spending the weekend with our family dog, going to Kent dog beaches, and this location was central. Whitstable, Reculver and Margate West - dog and I had a great time. We walked through the fields on the public footpage to the Red Lion for supper (he had a plain burger) and sat outside, watching the world go by. A great weekend. Everything was fine.
