Guest Reviews
- Christie (10/5): Fabulous spot. Very clean and well appointed. Excellent host. - Fabulous. Clean and comfortable! The host went out of their way to create a thoughtful space. Kitchen and bathrooms were exceptionally clean and well appointed. Bedrooms clean and bright. Very close to town and the Hockhocking Adena Bikeway. Top notch and exceeded expectations!
- Sterling (9/5): After getting in, the property was quiet, super clean, pleasantly decorated and close to our meeting. - There was no breakfast but we appreciated the well stocked coffee/tea choices. We just had trouble getting in possibly because I didn't get the message for the code.
- Johnson (10/5): - The place was reasonably priced, the communication was clear and detailed. The place was friendly with plenty of windows and space n/a
- Nancy (10/5): -
- Zwyer (7/5): -
- Parson (3/5): - The property appeared newly renovated. We had a very disappointing experience at this property, especially after driving over 9 hours to get there.
Upon arrival, one of the bedrooms did not have blankets, and the extra linens were locked in a closet. We had to contact the host to get access, which is something that should have been checked and resolved before guest arrival.
There was also animal waste left on the back deck, which made the outdoor space unusable and raised concerns about cleanliness overall. Additionally, there was an unidentified black substance left in the ice tray, which was off-putting and further contributed to concerns about sanitation.
The stairs leading upstairs were fairly steep, and the stair pads were loose and not properly secured, which felt like a safety hazard, especially for families with children.
The most serious issue was a raw sewage odor throughout the home. The smell was persistent and made the space uncomfortable to stay in. It appeared to be coming from the plumbing, though we were never given a clear explanation or resolution during our stay.
While the host did apologize and offered a $50 refund, it did not adequately reflect the level of inconvenience or the condition of the property.
Future guests should be aware of these issues and confirm that they have been fully resolved before booking.

- Anne (10/5): This Hidden Gem dazzled us with its immaculate and well-stocked accommodations. - What a perfect setup. Our group of four had plenty of space. Loved the outdoor deck. Could have used a lamp in the bunk bed room.
- Marv&Deb (9/5): Perfect central location for Windy 9. - Very nice apartment with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths was very group friendly. Within a mile or so to several very good resturants. A bit of a walk to town but not to
difficult.

- Pamela (9/5): We enjoyed having "room to move" and being so close to Athens, Ohio. We will definitely return. - The front door had a coded key lock. The code was sent to me in an Email from the host. We really enjoyed being close to Athens, Ohio, and having extra room(s). It rained most of Saturday so our hiking plans changed. It was great to have a kitchen table to play dominoes and Rails to Sails (we brought the games with us as a "just in case," as we knew there was the potential for bad weather). We were quite full after dinner so we got our dessert "to go." It was relaxing watching a movie in the living room while having coffee and dessert. We arrived around 11:00 pm. The road up to the apartment is pretty dark. We just had one car, so it wasn't a problem, but I think it would be "tight" if you wanted to park two cars right at the unit. There is extra parking at the end of the street. There wasn't anything about the apartment that we didn't like -- it was great. We were disappointed that so many of the shops in Nelsonville were not open on Saturday (despite all of their websites saying they would be). Maybe it was just off-season (early February), but call before you go. We had a fantastic dinner at Rhapsody in town, and took a drive to Lake Hope State Park, which we hope to return to in the fall.
- Salisbury (9/5): Clean and cute inside Worth it! - The property was updated and clean inside It is close to the Hocking hills scenic railroad. The neighborhood was a little ran down,
- Ron (9/5): Hidden gem found to be a great place to stay!!! - Nice and quiet.....train in the morning reminded me of staying at my grandparents house in Kentucky...brought back fond memories....easy to find and on a dead end street.....100 times better than a hotel room Maybe some darkening curtains in the bedroom and ability to have light on in bathroom without the fan running
- Dakota (4/5): Would be a nice place for the price if the heat worked and some minor cleaning was done. - Nicely renovated. Cozy and comfy. Couch and loveseat were very comfortable as were the beds. Very clean for the most part. The heat didn’t work so it was kind of chilly. Called and messaged the host with no reply until after we had left the next day. 3 very well used plugin bug traps in the kitchen cooking utensil drawer. No towels in the half bath downstairs, luckily they were in the drier located in the half bath. Shower head is very low. Awkward to use for an average height man and really inconvenient for a rather tall man. Neighborhood looks rather sketchy, but no noises or concerns throughout the night.
- Lindsey (9/5): Superb - It was very clean and decorated cutely. Check in was easy. We got there late at night so was not able to fully enjoy the apartment but would definitely stay there again if we are in the area! Stairs going up to the bedrooms were a little steep and railing at the top moved a little. Mattress in the master bedroom was uncomfortable but that could just be a preference thing.
- Amy (9/5): A cute updated townhouse that provides easy access to locations of interest at a value. - The house was perfect for size, style and cleanliness. It was also 15min drive to campus which was ideal. It was convenient to get to state route 33 as well. The furnishings are all new inside and had ample parking. The neighborhood is not up to date. The porch did not have seating options so glad we had sport chairs in our car to enjoy the outside deck.
- Maryanne (8/5): I would definitely recommend for a clean, affordable overnight in hocking hills. - Modest exterior, clean and comfortable interior. All the conveniences including tea bags, a happy surprise!
- William (10/5): Excellent stay we found lots to do. - Easily fit 5 persons and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay While the location was fine, we found Nelsonville alittle small
- Patricia (9/5): Fantastic place. Would stay again!! - I loved how the exterior was very plain and didnt grab attention but when you went inside it was gorgoeous. Great little quite get away.
- Duane (8/5): Very good -
- Svagerko (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tara (10/5): Comfortable and clean I will be staying here again on my next trip back! - It was well put together. Made me feel like I was home. Had everything I needed, and was really clean. The parking lol have a big truck so it was kind of hard turning around and pulling out of the parking spot.
- Valerie (10/5): Excellent value and very comfortable - Quiet, very nice, clean, pretty decor. Had all the comforts of home.. much better than a hotel! Nothing
- Dennis (10/5): Will be back- perfect visit. - Friendly and helpful neighbors. Very convenient to downtown. Easy in, easy our, great parking. No problems at all.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Valarie (10/5): Exceptional - The home was very clean and welcoming. N/A
