- Stewart (8/5): Vari Beach apartment, one hour bus/train to Athens. - Very spacious apartment with large balcony. Washing machine and laundry line. Easy walk to bus stop to Athens (1 bus then switch to Metro train). Easy walk to, pay for, beach access, or use of a tiny free beach to the right side of esplanade area. Windsurf rentals/lessons. 15 minutes bus ride to a beautiful coastal lake (€18 per person for the day, including chair/umbrella). Cross the road from the lake to access nice area for snorkling/swimming/restaurant. Plenty of restaurants and several super markets. The showers' water was either too hot or not hot at all. Hopefully this will get fixed. Not much happening in the seaside area of Vari, but the easy access to public transport made it worth it.
