Guest Reviews
- Claudia (10/5): - So schön.
- Mark (5/5): Nothing cosy about this cottage, it was very cold, the bath room needs a bath mate as it can be slippery. Parking was al - Cold, & very difficult to park.
- rippin (9/5): Lovely location and great cottage -
- Mary (9/5): Witching Country - Homely cottage, well furnished. Downstairs toilet.
- Ann (8/5): A lovely home would stay again - Had everything we needed for our stay , beds were comfy and kitchen was fab We all banged our heads on the way into the front door at some point , make sure you bend !! Haha the stairs are steep but wasn’t an issue for us . The parking was a bit difficult making it hard when loading and unloading the car !
- Nick (10/5): A lovely little well equipped cottage. - A lovely little, well equipped cottage. A smooth operation from booking to leaving. Plenty to do in the local area and a good dog walking area close by. Car parking a little hit or miss!
- Dawn (9/5): Nice little property - Everything we need for our stay clean comfortable and convenient for our Xmas near family Bath plug that didn't fit but I just went and brought one so I could bath
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect for our needs - clean and comfortable and all the facilities that we used worked well (we didn’t need to use the - Cosy cottage is the correct description - perfect for two of us who travelled to the area for a party. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen well-equipped and the shower was really powerful. Absolutely perfect for our short stay. The street was also super-quiet. These elements didn’t negatively affect our stay, but it’s worth warning folks about the narrow streets, if they are not familiar with Mistley, and the steep staircase in the property (with a good handrail on one side)
- Jonathan (7/5): Great for our needs - Using it as a bolt-hole whilst we were at a wedding nearby for the weekend. So all we needed was somewhere to sleep and shower. Perfect for this and the host made sure that getting in / getting out was easy. It's a tiny road and a great number of cars - so on street parking is not the easiest.

- Lindadam (8/5): - Loved staying at cosy cottage, we had a great week. Visiting family and friends. The grandson loved riding his bike through the woods at the end of the street. The stairs are very steep and open, with a 2yr old toddler and a 78yr old we had to be super careful coming down backwards and the other worry was there was no fire equipment or escape from the back of the house which made the mother in law super cautious to turn everything off before we left the cottage each time. But otherwise is a great little stay 😊
- Young (8/5): Overall, great place to stay near the river stour - The cottage had what was needed for my stay; comfortable, right amount of kitchen paraphernalia, lovely walks around the village and riverside. Condensation in the bathroom

- Tracey (9/5): Loved staying here, house is very comfortable. Unfortunat the . Unfortunately would probably not - The beds and pillows very comfortable and also black out curtains. Door going into kitchen too heavy so difficult to open.
No parking. Was very difficult.
- Marcus (9/5): -
- Ferruccio Gianni (7/5): - Coffee arrangement Kitchen door
Linen better white
- louise (8/5): - Easy to find, instructions for accessing property spot on. Good location to walk into Manningtree for evening event. Property was clean, well equipped and in good order. Road was lovely and quiet too, ideal overnight stay.
- Alice (10/5): Lovely stay in Mistley with great host - Lovely stay in Mistley for a wedding nearby. The host was very accommodating with letting us arrive earlier to get ready for our wedding. Everything in the property is as described and perfect for a night away. Thank you! Nothing- all great
- Edward (8/5): Very enjoyable stay in a lovely property. -

- cath (10/5): Loved staying here and would definitely come back again - Very clean and comfortable. Very peaceful area too. Lovely walks nearby.
- Lesleydawn (9/5): lovely cosy cottage - Great communication with owner and clear instructions. Lovely cottage in very good condition. nicely furnished. Comortable furniture and beds. lnside spotlessly clean. had all we needed. Nice to have tea/coffee welcome pack. friendly neighbours. Peaceful area within walking distance of Rail Station and Maningtree. Good pubs and restaurants in Maningtree. would return. Not really a dislike, but as in a lot of older cottages, the staircase was steep and narrow with a turn at the bottom so not easy to carry bags etc upstairs. though it would not stop us staying again! kitchen fire door very heavy....as needed...but awkward to hold open while carrying food...OK once we got used to it.
- Ana (10/5): Cosy small cotagge with lots of places to walk the dogs. - Near huge park to walk the dogs TV signal didn’t work but Amazon prime was available so we watched films instead.
- Robert (9/5): Great place to stay hidden away in Mistley! - Location excellent for walking both into Dedham Vale and the Essex Way to Harwich. Did miss a cafetiere... a real coffee so sets you up for a walking day. Also missed a bath mat... but that's being picky.
- John (3/5): Very cold. - The house was very cold most of the time. Never got above 18 degrees. When we got back into thhe house after a day out it was 12 degrees and took 4 hours to warm up.
No plug in the wash basin.
Kitchen sink does not drain well.
- Andy (8/5): Very good - Nice and cosy Lack of parking. We ended up parking down at the train station as the road was full of cars.
- Diane (9/5): Very lovely appointed accommodation. All the basics you need. - Comfortable bed Stairs a bit tricky at night but manageable
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adam (1/5): Poor. I’ll spend my money elsewhere thankyou. - The location. The property was absolutely freezing upon arrival, no heating was left on and the thermostat read 7 degrees! We turned the heating on in the hope that the house would warm but on return it was off again and freezing! Sat with coats on at 10pm is a poor experience. Contacted the owner 3 times and have had no reply.
- Cecilia (7/5): Just right for our short stay. Slept well in very comfy beds. Kitchen very well equipped. - Location great. Quiet and lots of character
House very clean and comfy Boiler instructions need to be crystal clear. Please put a door on kitchen to keep sitting/dining area warm.
- Oliver (10/5): From excellent communication before we arrived to them moment we left there wasn’t any negatives. A lovely property in a - Clean and modern. Everything we needed in a quiet location. Everything was perfect.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved staying here. Could have easily stayed longer. Have family around the corner and just found this property so definitely a retuning customer! Shower was hot, the cottage was cosy and homely. Quiet little street. Loved everything
- Janet (8/5): An enjoyable short stay for visiting this part of Stour Valley. . - Very cosy and warm with all our daily needs provided. Having 2 cars it was difficult finding parking when we arrived.
- Susan (10/5): Lovely, comfortable and enjoyable stay. - Very clean and comfortable. The Kitchen was well equipped . It was a lovely comfortable cottage and was really nice to actually have normal tv. Nice local amenities and fairly central to everything we wanted to do on our holiday. The only small issues we had were there was an unpleasant smell when you turned on the hot tap in the kitchen and there was no grass at the back for the dog to do her business on (unfortunately we have a fussy dog )
- Helga (3/5): Had I known how difficult it was to park in the street I would not have booked the property. -
- Judy (8/5): Good value and comfortable for a short stay. - Comfortable bed and sofas. Well equipped with thoughtful extras, especially the kitchen. Quiet location within easy reach of Manningtree, Constable Country and the coast. Bathroom was adequate for a short stay but would definitely benefit from an upgrade. Parking was quite difficult. We parked some distance away to avoid upsetting residents by parking directly outside their homes.
Stairs a bit scary! (Narrow and steep).
- Stephen (10/5): Would use this property again. - Nice compact 2 bedroom cottage, clean and fresh. On street parking and road is narrow, but was able to park near to the front of the cottage. The stairs are as expected narrow so care has to be taken on coming down. I walked backwards for the last 3 steps.
- Dale (7/5): We picked the property for its location & we were not disappointed in our choice. It served us well. - The property is very well situated. Whilst we didn’t take full advantage on our one night stay it appeared to be well kitted/thought out. We personally didn’t like the bathroom being through the kitchen however it was perfectly adequate for our purpose on this stay.
