• Mukul (10/5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Stay at Castello di Vezio - Our stay at Castello di Vezio was one of the highlights of our Lake Como trip. The property offers several accommodation options, some located within the castle grounds and others nestled along the charming streets outside the castle gates. We were assigned one of the villas outside the gates, and while we were initially curious about the location, any hesitation disappeared the moment we stepped inside. The villa was absolutely beautiful—a spacious three-bedroom home spread across multiple levels, impeccably maintained and thoughtfully appointed. Everything was spotless, and the care taken in maintaining the property was evident in every detail. We appreciated it so much that we did our very best to leave it in the same pristine condition in which we found it. The breakfast each morning was excellent, and the gardens and grounds were simply stunning. The views over Lake Como are breathtaking and provide the kind of scenery that photographs struggle to capture. Whether enjoying breakfast, wandering through the gardens, or simply taking in the panorama, every moment felt special. The location is another major advantage. The property is conveniently close to the Varenna ferry terminal, making it an ideal base for exploring Bellagio, Menaggio, and the rest of Lake Como. What truly elevated our stay, however, was the warmth of the hosts and staff. Every member of the team was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely committed to ensuring we had a comfortable and memorable visit. Their hospitality made us feel less like guests and more like valued friends. Castello di Vezio combines history, character, spectacular views, comfort, and outstanding hospitality. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Como.

APparemment nous aurions du tilter car il y avait écrit "in the village" mais ce n'était franchement pas clair.

La distance avec Varrena permet de s'éloigner de la foule . La maison est dans le domaine mais cela reste une maison . Pas de rangement ou de nettoyage durant le séjour.

• Adriaan (10/5): An exceptional stay at a unique accommodation, with welcoming staff and amazing views. - The property is stunning with amazing views of Lake Como and itself beautifully maintained within the charming village. Our suite was well appointed, comfortable, clean, and fully stocked with all you would need for a self-catered stay. The staff, particularly the reception team and the drivers, were delightful and could not be more welcoming. We had many breakfast options at the restaurant and the relatively new restaurant on the property is well worth booking for dinner. There is very little not to like. The only gentle warning is that the walk up to the property takes some stamina (and that’s coming from two fit guests). Otherwise, enjoy!

• Dzmitry (10/5): VEZIO/VARENNA - Fantastic view from the grounds. It's definitely worth going around and exploring. Has sun heated pool and tennis court to use. We lived in small village Vezio next to the castle entrance. It was calm and quiet. Remember that it's very steep pathway to go down to Varenna and station. Taxi cost 10-15 euro, can be ordered from train station or by phone. From 19.00 p.m. to midnight there is free bus going to entrance. Very good connection links with Milan and near by places by ferry and train. Great restaurant on premises. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of routs for hiking and sightseeing around. All was good . Maybe remember that walk to the place is uphill and very steep. Get taxi at least while with bags.

Super thanks to Stefano as he was an angel and the kindest supporting staff ever:) Rooms are super tidy and clean. Sceneary and View THE BEST!!!! - View : Most people comment that the real Como starts from where the lake divides in 2 and you can see the breathtaking scenary from the hotel. I can guarantee this hotel has one of thr best view points. - Hotel Room : I was designated to a 1 bedroom, 1kitchen, bathroom house which was neat and clean when arrivied. Super cozy and everything you need to relax. Mostly you would find yourself in the main garden and other activites (swimming,tennis) - Location : please contact the hotel in advance and request for a taxi. Its not easy to grab a local cab in Varenna and for the 1st day with all you luggages please do as asked. Once you checked in, changr your shoes to nice comfy sneakers and go with foot. I suggest its a nice hike about 30min. Its literally a mountain hike trail but perfect amoun of workout to integrate in your vacation. Or just grab a cab but pleade be aware after 8pm it is not easy to grab a cab so please be aware! Besides, breakfast with outstanding view, amazing tennis court and swimming pool. My 2days here were one of the best expereiences in my life. Grazie mille! And hope to visit again soon!
• Juliette (10/5): Far from the madding crowd - The staff were very helpful, and once at the property, you are removed from the tourist crowds, with great views, facilities, local walks, and a small restaurant serving local specialities. We had a lovely stay. Need to be aware of the climb by foot to the accommodation (taxis are available)
• Kory (9/5): Super memorable stay, albeit a bit remote - Supplying cereal, milk, and coffee was a nice touch. Guests get 24/7 access of the entire Castello di Vezio grounds, including pool and amazing lake lookout spot. Host extremely responsive via WhatsApp, and can help you book taxis down to Varenna. Very friendly and helpful host. Very comfortable house, and unexpectedly well-stocked kitchen (all the way down to food processor!). You can also purchase bottles of wine directly from the host, which is nice. There's a free night van going to and from Varenna operating every night from 9pm to midnight (it can get crowded so don't wait for the last 11:30pm one). Warning: the walk uphill from the Varenna train station up to this house is not for the feint of heart, especially with luggage. It's basically a hike in the woods. Ask the host to book you a taxi (you won't be able to find one yourself). I wish the host informed us of this ahead of time. Also the mattresses could be more comfortable. And the WiFi is pretty intermittent (but strong when it does work).
• Bachicha (6/5): Pleasant - WARNING: IF YOU ARE TRAVELING BY TRAIN - DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WALK TO THIS PROPERTY, because you will have to walk a long and dangerous narrow road uphill with fast cars passing by and no sidewalk OR up a STEEP COBBLESTONE HIKING TRAIL. GOOGLE MAPS ERRONEOUSLY tells people to use this trail to walk to the property and will list it as an 18 minute walk from the train station. THIS IS MISLEADING. THE PROPERTY SHOULD CLEARLY STATE THAT YOU WILL NEED A CAR or A TAXI ($32 each way) TO ACCESS THE PROPERTY FROM VARENNA. WE TRIED ACCESSING THE PROPERTY ON THE TRAIL AND IT WAS A DANGEROUS NIGHTMARE IF YOU HAVE LUGGAGE

• Pater (10/5): Unmatched- overwhelming beautiful - Absolutely stunning. The pool was beautiful, and the gardens were absolutely breathtaking. Such an unmatched place to stay. The owner was so so lovely and really made the experience so much better. The place was very clean, there were stunning olive trees and jasmine- it smelt amazing! Only downside was the trek to varenna- the path was very steep and uneven, so we had to take a taxi every time to get into the main areas. But I do have a joint condition so others would be okay if you’re more stable on your feet.
