Guest Reviews
- simon (10/5): - Easy access

- Mark (6/5): - The house was ok good shower comfy beds and clean There was no parking except on the street which was busy when I got home from work which meant parking on double yellows every night which puts some amount of worry in your mind weather you was going to get a parking ticket or not
- Viki (8/5): Pleasant, good value for money, great communication. A great stay. - Great location, close to shops, comfortable, clean, everything you would need appliance wise. Good communication from host. The only small issue was some rubbish left from a previous guest in the back garden. Didn’t effect our stay and was dealt with efficiently by staff.
- Hillary (8/5): Great - Quiet location It’s okay
- Nia (6/5): Cheap but not cheerfull - Kitchen size ok but not well equipped.
Towels provided Did not feel as if a deep clean had taken place. Bedding was all bobbly and door in bathroom and bedroom we not secure.
Outside needs attention we don’t smoke so don’t want to see smoke buts on floor and in container by bk door. Outdoor bins over flowing, no sitting out area.
- Emma (7/5): - It was a nice property only a 10 minute drive to the centre. The owner was very Helpful and responsive. The on street parking was good as long as you could get a spot. We had parking each day but never in the same spot.
- Maxine (4/5): Well equipped, but needs a good clean and revamp, great location for us - Location Very scruffy, not very well kept, doors with hinges that were loose, front garden full of weeds, pipe work outside not connected, electrics iffy
- Magdalena (9/5): Nice Time. - House was good and clean. Everything was how at photo including bedding Problem with parking.

- Elizabeth (10/5): Absolutely fantastic home - decorated beautifully, lovely appliances, great location. Very affordable for such a beautif - Decoration and appliances were lovely. Plenty of space considering it’s a small terraced house. Beds were lovely and even the little sofa bed was perfect for my youngest child (2 years old).
It’s right next to Newland Avenue which is a lively, lovely and bustling street with plenty of shops and many bus stops for easy access to the city centre. A 5 minute walk to the university and a 5 minute drive from the city centre. A few minor items needed repair (which is common in an Airbnb), but they didn’t impact our stay. The host was wonderful—they communicated promptly and effectively when I arrived and notified them about the issues.
The street parking was difficult, if you returned after 6pm then it was difficult to find parking near the home. However we could easily find some along nearby street with just a minute or two walking distance to the home.
A washing line in the garden would be useful, or a foldable clothes airer somewhere in the house so that clothes could be easily dried after being washed.

- Kylynn (1/5): Disappointing - Nothing - it was horrible we left immediately and booked somewhere else Upon arrival, it was immediately evident that the apartment was in an unacceptably poor state. The cleanliness was well below standard, with visible stains on the walls, broken skirting boards, and a damaged bath—which was particularly concerning as I had a baby with me. The condition of the bath was not only unacceptable but also potentially dangerous.
Furthermore, the gardens were poorly maintained and there were spider webs inside the property, indicating a serious lack of upkeep. These conditions made the apartment entirely unsuitable, and we had no choice but to leave just one hour after checking in.
- Margareta (10/5): The house was comfortable and we felt there like at home. - The house was clean and comfortable and met our needs. N/A
- Leanne (7/5): Great location, property is really good but could benefit from a little tlc - The property is in a great location for the purpose of our trip, modern decoration and just what we needed in terms of 2 beds, our own living space, kitchen and bathroom The beds could be comfier. I could feel the springs in the mattress but my son was fine with his bed. There were a few things missing for example oven gloves and a hair dryer and could benefit from some garden furniture to be able to sit outside and enjoy the weather
- Mourad (3/5): Mixed Experience: Areas for Improvement for a Pleasant Stay - I particularly appreciated the apartment's proximity to shops, restaurants, and supermarkets, which greatly facilitated our stay. The Wi-Fi was also very reliable, and the kitchen facilities were practical and well-equipped. However, several aspects of our stay were disappointing. First of all, the difficulty in finding the apartment made our arrival stressful. It would have been helpful to receive a message containing the location of the apartment along with the access code for the keys.
Moreover, the beds are not large enough for a couple or two people, contrary to what was indicated. With dimensions of 1.90 m long by 1.40 m wide, these beds are suitable for one person, limiting the occupancy to 3 people in the apartment if we include the sofa bed, which is uncomfortable and can cause back pain. The owner should consider renewing the blankets and pillows, which seem to be several decades old.
We also noticed that the trash had not been emptied upon our arrival. Additionally, it would have been good to be informed that both bedrooms are located on the upper floor, accessible only by narrow stairs, making it difficult to move luggage.
Another significant issue was the unbearable noise coming from the water heater in the upstairs bedroom. Although we reported this problem to the host, no action was taken to resolve it. This ultimately led to our decision to leave the apartment before the end of our stay, as nothing had been repaired despite our repeated reminders.
Finally, the check-in time was set for 4 PM, and the arrival of the cleaners at 5 PM to prepare the apartment was also a source of inconvenience. It seems they use the same blankets between different guests, and we had to wait for them to come back from the laundry after each guest's departure.
In summary, while the location and certain amenities are appreciated, several aspects related to welcome, comfort, and hygiene need to be improved to provide a better experience. We hope that the amount of our stay, which we paid in advance without staying until the end, can be used by the host to address these issues and enhance the quality of the apartment in the future.
- Stephanie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Happy (7/5): good - I was clean and tidy, it suited our requirements. The lack of car parking space. The road is a dead end and you cant turn round. we were lucky we got a space.
- Chavan (7/5): my stay was good - the host was very straight forward no hassle to gain access to the property not enough towels
- Carl (8/5): Nice place - Great location close to all shops and amenities good stay
- Dorsett (9/5): Superb -
- Hanna (10/5): Cozy - It feels very cosy as if it were grandma's house
near the house many shops the address is a little confusing but the house is very cute inside

- Charlie (1/5): Wouldn't recommend. - The house is well decorated and the rooms are nice. The windows were filthy, the fence was broken, the lawns were overgrown, there were full bin bags left in the yard, the pipe was broken outside so when the shower was on, water would pour all over the yard. The entire property stank of cigarettes and when I raised this concern with the company I was told that there was no smell (it was a very strong smell so this was a lie). The company has since refused to provide me with a refund and has essentially told me that I'm lying about the smell. I wouldn't recommend this house to anyone for the reasons mentioned above.
- Becki (1/5): Awful, by far worst place I’ve ever stayed. - nothing everything it was awful, we turned up and there were still people inside that had been staying there for around a month, spent almost an hour waiting for them to leave, it was filthy, we bought cleaning products and spent 2 hours gutting the place, we had to buy new bedding because what was provided was bobbly, old and stank! The beds were the most uncomfortable ones I’ve ever slept on, you could feel every spring, the neighbors were partying all through the night as well as dogs left in the gardens barking all night, awful area, do not stay here if you want a relaxing comfortable place to stay, because this isn’t it, it was disgusting and nothing like the photos, booking.com have been awful in dealing with my complaint about this place I’ve just been ignored, so I would avoid booking through this site also!
- Echekwube (1/5): I did not get value for my money - Location Attitude of staff was very poor
- Margaret (8/5): Very good - Good communication with regards to key pick up...stayed here for our sons graduation, Great location for visiting University and awalk away from Newland avenue were plenty of places to eat and shops.
- Nigel (5/5): Passable - Pleasant decoration (nice colours on the bedroom walls), comfortable sofas. Very convenient location, ie close to Newland Avenue (shops, cafés, restaurants, bus stops, etc) and the university. The neighbourhood was rather dirty. The house itself could have been cleaner and the garden better kept. The facilities could have been better, eg a coffee machine, wardrobes for clothes, a mirror in the bathroom. The two double beds were narrow and the mattresses were very soft, while the single bed was much too hard.
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (7/5): Good - The location was excellent. The broadband was FREE and very fast. Netflix was available. The house had good water pressure and everything that we needed. The on street parking was a worry at first as it didn't seem that secure. But, there were no issues. The house is accessed behind some garages (odd that lots of parking area is locked off here?). Nightime was quiet. There were a few piles of rubbish at the side of road near the hosue, old mattresses etc.
- Haley (6/5): Comfortable but could be cleaner - decorated well, great wifi, had al the utensils and appliances you would need and the bed was comfortable. The floor and sink areas were not very clean, the front door doesn't seem very secure, the bath plug doesn't work nor does the standard lamp in the living room.
- Edward (6/5): Cheap and convenient - Pleasant house near Newland Av and University . Tea coffee and olive oil provided . Sunny garden in pm No soap in bathroom ( I don’t count a single squirt of watered down liquid soap )
Scruffy street and surrounding houses
Could have been cleaner eg fag butts outside back door
Some seats outside would have been nice
Wi-fi kept dropping
Outside Bins hadn’t been emptied in weeks
- Neia (5/5): If you need a night away and you're not there for the scenery, this will do. - Jess was very responsive over text.
Tina, who came to clean, was chatty and very friendly and I enjoyed talking to her.
Being close to Newland Avenue, we had easy access to shops and restaurants.
I could take a run around Pearson Park which was not far away.
Once we had got it going, the TV/internet worked fine.
Very quiet at night. There was a pervasive smell that was either stale smoke or maybe paint. I wouldn't agree with the term 'cosy' as the floor in the front room felt like stone.
There were no instructions for the WiFi so my husband spent ages trying to work it through with Jess as he needed to do some work.
The 'garden' had been strimmed and just left as an ugly area that looked like waste ground to be honest. Weeds growing all around the edges and a general air of noone caring. Whilst this mirrors the surrounding streets, it just wasn't pleasant.
When we arrived, there had been a miscommunication with staff between themselves so the rooms had not been cleaned and bedding was as left by the previous people. It was sorted out as soon as it could be, though.
- Rob (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (8/5): A lovely little house in a quiet street close to vibrant Newland Avenue. -
