Guest Reviews
- Edward (3/5): Avoid. Poor value for the money. Does the property meet Fire safety regulations? - Not much The fire safety was lacking. No smoke alarms in the property. No carbon monoxide detector in the bathroom with the gas boiler. Dirty rooms, towels and sheets. Toilet seat fixing broken. Bathroom door did not close. No door between the kitchen and the hall leading to the bedrooms, just a curtain. Freezer needed to be defrosted and cleaned. Dirty dishes in the dish washer. The entrance to the property is up steep steps which are in darkness at night. No lamp to illuminate them and pose a fall hazard. The keys were in a lock-box situated a road a long way from the rooms and required a car journey to get them and the use of the Sat Nav. Altogether a disappointing experience. I would not recommend this accommodation.
- Monique (4/5): A Mixed Stay in Tunbridge Wells: Comfort Clashes with Convenience Issues - **Positive Aspects:**
The location of the apartment is notable, being just a 9-53 minute walk to the train station. Netflix service worked well throughout our stay, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep. **Negative Aspects:**
No toilet papers were provided for our one-week stay, along with no toiletries including body wash, hand soap, and no hand towels. The absence of bath mats was also disappointing. There were no trash bags for either the bathroom or kitchen bins. The absence of essential kitchen items such as dish towels, sponges, or dish soap was noticeable, and a small gesture like a bottle of cooking oil was missing. Additionally, the lack of coffee preparation amenities such as filter papers, a coffee machine, or a french press was inconvenient. Furthermore, the Wi-Fi was non-functional, and importantly, a hair dryer was not provided, which proved to be an oversight. A particularly unsettling discovery was dirty laundry left inside the washing machine, which was a stark reminder of the need for better housekeeping prior to guest arrival. Additionally, the process of key collection was highly inconvenient, as the keys had to be picked up from a location entirely different and in the opposite direction to the apartment. This posed a significant inconvenience, especially since we arrived by train and were not driving.
It's crucial that accommodations consider the logistics and convenience of key collection, especially for travelers who rely on public transport. Such inconveniences can greatly impact the overall experience and start the stay on a less positive note.
Future guests should be aware of these challenges, and it's imperative that the property managers address these issues to improve the overall guest experience. Attention to detail and minor adjustments can significantly enhance the comfort and satisfaction of stays in such properties.
- James (10/5): A homely place to stay. - The property feels very homely and is only a short 10 minute walk into town. Was a great a base for us. Be aware there are a short flight of stairs as its on the first floor.
- Shuk (8/5): Very good - close to the town centre
- Jacqueline (3/5): unexceptable and requires major improvement with housekeeping and quality of bedding and fittings - location had to book hotel for our 1st night as apartment not cleaned, bedding old and dirty, shower unusable, badly equipped kitchen, no wardrobe/hanging space (rectified on day 2). parking almost impossible.
- Aman (10/5): Exceptional -
