- Grace_lab (10/5): - Fra i tanti posti che ho girato, non mi aspettavo di trovare un posto così affascinante come il Relais Histo: è un’oasi di pace assoluta, immersa tra ulivi secolari e affacciata sul Mar Piccolo, ideale per staccare dal caos. Le camere sono spaziose, pulitissime e con splendide volte in pietra. La piscina esterna è incantevole e la SPA offre un'esperienza di benessere davvero suggestiva e rigenerante. Una menzione speciale va all'eccellente proposta gastronomica e a tutto lo staff: accogliente, professionale e di una gentilezza d'altri tempi.

- sufi (2/5): Disappointing - We checked in on 17 May - 19 May for our honeymoon. The hotel was absolutely overflowing with American guests for a wedding. When we arrived after 10 hours of travel for our dinner on the first night, we suddenly found ourselves in the middle of a wedding party dinner. It was so loud that we could not enjoy the meal so we asked staff if there was somewhere private we could eat. The staff were unhelpful and unaccommodating - they suggested a restaurant in the town 20 mins away for us to drive to. Reluctantly after a full day of travel and given how exhausted we were; we went to the restaurant out of desperation. It was closed, so the recommendation was not helpful. We were surprised and shocked that nowhere on the entire grounds could the staff have accommodated us for a meal. The next morning we went to the gym, and we were in the middle of a bachelorette party for a large group of girls. It was so loud and we were so out of place that we had to leave the gym. We did not visit the spa once, as the hotel was overflowing with no privacy or element of luxury service at all. We complained to management and informed him that this was the opposite of the romantic honeymoon experience we had hoped for. The manager did nothing to help, and said that because we had made the booking through booking.com he would do nothing for us. His suggestions of a hotel meal were useless as the first day had been an awful experience and we had therefore booked to be out of the hotel that day to avoid spending time with the wedding party. We were extremely upset that we were never informed by the hotel that the entire hotel would be invaded by a huge wedding. I would have cancelled even up until the day before and chosen to lose the money for the stay - solely to ensure we had a wonderful honeymoon and stay somewhere else. It was the opposite of a romantic experience -it felt like we were in the middle of spring break in the USA.

- Leita (6/5): - Lovely historic building and gardens. Spa is in a beautiful building but felt unclean, lots of mould on the tiles. Bathroom in our room did not have a proper shower but a large, high bath tub to climb in and out of with a hand held shower. Found it very awkward and not practical to use and would not recommend if you have mobility issues. Some staff were pompous and cold, particularly the wait staff in the restaurant. Disliked that the air conditioning was centrally and not individually controlled. It is not a five star hotel nor worth the price tag in my opinion.

- Nicola (7/5): Una bellissima scoperta con un alto potenziale. - Struttura veramente bella, ancor più che in foto. (Si può migliorare pagina instagam e sito...). Molto grande ma per nulla dispersiva e trasmette un senso di pace e tranquillità. Restauro conservativo, fatto molto bene, curato nei dettagli e design minimalista. Il punto forte sono gli spazi aperti ma soprattutto la zona piscina e la spa, di livello molto alto, adeguate o sopra le aspettative. Camere ampie e curate. Ahimè la struttura meriterebbe uno staff numericamente più adeguato ed una direzione manageriale più attenta. Devo dire che tutti sono stati molto accoglienti e cordiali, nulla da dire, ma una struttura di queste dimensioni e con l'ambizione o meglio la dichiarazione di posizionarsi come 5 stelle (visto il prezzo coerente con un 5 stelle), deve avere una gestione adeguata. A parte qualche problema con le tariffe ed i conti finali, le altre problematiche sono relative a rifacimento stanze, ristorante non qualitativamente adeguato al posizionamento, poche variazioni, servizi lenti e mancanza di preparazione ed organizzazione per accogliere esigenze particolari. A fronte di ciò devo dire che lo staff si è prodigato e ha cercato di migliorare, ma l'organizzazione e gestione a monte non è coerente (o almeno non lo è ancora) con il livello della struttura magnifica e le cinque stelle. Sono sicuro che miglioreranno perché il potenziale è alto.

- Vittorio (8/5): Struttura andata al relax e riposo - Struttura molto bella, le camere sono molto accoglienti. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Bella la piscina. Una sottolineatura: il nostro cagnolino non aveva restrizioni cosa molto apprezzata, abbiamo trovato una cuccia e le ciotole per acqua e cibo in camera. TOP Più che critiche alcune osservazioni in strutture come queste i dettagli fanno la differenza. Il check in ci è stato comunicato essere alle 15. Siamo arrivati dopo un lungo viaggio alle 15, ma abbiamo aspettato mezz’ora, la camera non era pronta. Abbiamo preso due cocktail in piscina abbiamo atteso 20 minuti per averli. La colazione potrebbe avere più scelta. Tutto buono ma con poca varietà.

- Dimphy (9/5): Geweldige locatie, topservice en comfort: een 9 waard. - Een werkelijk prachtige locatie met geweldige kamers en heerlijk comfortabele bedden. Het ontbijt is fantastisch en ook diners en lunches zijn van goed niveau. Het zwembad en de spa-faciliteiten zijn erg mooi en sfeervol. Daarnaast zijn de medewerkers ongelooflijk vriendelijk en behulpzaam, wat het verblijf extra prettig maakte. Jammer dat kinderen hier toegestaan zijn; vooral rond het zwembad zorgt dit niet voor de rust die je in een dergelijke accommodatie verwacht. Daarnaast vonden wij het gebruik van de spa-faciliteiten aan de prijzige kant. Voor €95 krijg je minder dan twee uur toegang en word je eigenlijk vrij gehaast langs de baden, sauna en stoombad geleid.

The food and wine at the restaurant is fantastic and the service there great. Service and some basic amenities were left wanting. The room was very hot in September and we asked the air conditioning to be checked, which did not happen. I had to seek someone out several times at the pool to get towels. We had no kettle for tea. And some of the service was surly, which you don’t expect at a high end price point.
- Aisling (4/5): So So, I would not recommend for the money. - Rooms and the decor of the hotel was beautiful! Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the overall service and vibe. There were very little guests staying; it was a ghost town during the day. Despite this, it took 50+ minutes to serve us lunch each day, even with being the only people to order food. We tried to get the waiters attention each time but they rush past ( despite having very little or no guests). This didn’t even give us an opportunity to discuss the poor service. They moved us into the restaurant due to rain one day and forgot to turn on the lights in there for 30 minutes 😅. I felt they had much younger day staff in attendance and they were more preoccupied with cleaning or doing tasks, than serving guests. The only good experience we received was when we ate in the restaurant one night. The service was superb. Booking.com does not make it clear that the spa is an additional charge. 95€ to sit in an array of pools is London prices so I was very shocked to find out the price, whilst already paying alot for the hotel room per night. This poor advertising is not the hotels fault but it started us off on a bad footing which unfortunately got worse. I would avoid this hotel. There is not much else to do in the area so if you’re not enjoying the hotel, there is nowhere to go…
- Mike (9/5): A peaceful oasis combined with pleasant hospitality! - A tranquil and thoughtful facility. Design and landscaping inspired. Spa and pool area was hard to leave. The central location made it easy to explore Taranto and surrounding areas of interest. Highly recommended.
- Christine (9/5): Wonderful hotel for a relaxing time - The location and the ambience of the hotel is very beautiful and calm. The rooms are very big, clean and the isolated very well. There were weddings at the time we stayed and we didn’t hear anything in the room. Also the pool area was very relaxing and you can always find a sunbed. The staff was also very friendly and helpful. To be honest, we expected a lot more regarding the food. The breakfast selection is very poor and some variety would be nice. The food at the pool/ lunch was also not very delicious and you would expect some more effort from a 5 start hotel. The fries we ordered were just tasteless and soggy and the sandwich we ordered was very bad. Unfortunately, my husband and I left more than half of it, because it was not enjoyable at all. The only delicious thing would have been the pizza we had on pizza night. The pizza was very delicious.
- Shahed (7/5): I recommend the hotel - The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location, the road is awful and damaged our car. The breakfast was very mediocre and often everything was missing. The range and variety and service for the breakfast has to be better for the price and the overall hotel.

The pool area was lovely & there were day beds which were great for a bit of shade. It was really peaceful and great for re energising. Breakfast was good Spa facilities. The animals - nesting Swallows, gecko's, cats etc If you venture to Taranto we recommend Barone Tiny things..... No Fresh orange juice at Breakfast Food menu by the pool a bit limited for us as vegetarians. No hotel bar for a drink in the evenings if you didn't want to venture in to Taranto or have a dinner at the hotel. Gym equipment a little dated.

Also, while accomodation is on the very expensive side, the prices at the restaurant and bar were very reasonable and excellent for the quality and service

- Ruben (6/5): Beautiful but disappointing - Big, beautiful with a lot of potential Staff could be friendlier and more detailed. They didn’t present the hotel to us and rushed us to the room. They were also annoyed to have to remove all items from car. Feels like an abandoned property without proper management. Spa was okay. Breakfast wasn’t great and not so fresh. The restaurant for dinner was also so so. Its missing a touch of love and care and that is transferred to the guests.

- Nick (9/5): Wonderful hotel highly reccomend couple from the UK. - How clean the property was, how welcoming the staff were, the layout, our room, the gym, the pools, the scenery, the peacefulness, FLIPPING EVERYTHING!!!!! Just a shame the meat was overdone on the evening meal and my girlfriends fish was too. But they didn’t charge us for the meat.

- Nitzan (10/5): romantic and peaceful - a very special hotel. beautifuly decorated and styled. we also had spa treatment, very enjoying. we stayed in a 30m room. the hotel is 10 minutes drive from the city. There are also bicycles for the hotel’s guests to cycle in the area. very generous breakfast. for us The best in Italy so far.
- Kristina (8/5): Nice gem in the middle nowhere easy access to Taranto - Beautiful surroundings. The staff were helpful and flexible with the gym opening though 10am is quite late to open. But it was appreciated. Breakfast, the omelette I ordered was exceptional A bit soulless the rooms. Lighting lack of carpeting made it feel cold. The pillows were not great.

- Philip (9/5): We very much enjoyed our stay in this hotel. - Lovely pool and spa, comfortable room, good bathroom. Excellent breakfasts and delicious dinners. Taranto itself, a few miles distant, although a city full of interest in a lovely position on the sea, with a great museum and cathedral, is an industrial and naval centre and not primarily geared to cater for tourists.

- Hubert (10/5): Peaceful place in the olive trees - We had a wonderful time at the Relais. Very kind staff and beautiful building and swimming pool. The spa was also great! A small negative point in our stay: the lunch was not good quality. But we will come back for the hotel, its staff and its amazing amenities!
