Guest Reviews
- Allan (8/5): - Lovely cottage views to die for
Only complaint was the ice box in the fridge needed defrosted bit of a pickky complaint as every thing else was great would go back anytime. Nothing
- Stephen (10/5): Special place where special family memories were made. - We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The location was peaceful and quiet, making it very relaxing. The house itself felt like a real home from home, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It has been beautifully renovated to a high standard while still feeling warm and welcoming. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others. We all enjoyed watching the world go by from the lounge and every night was a spectacular sunset. Not applicable.

- Billy (9/5): Fabulous house and wonderful position - Terrific house, very well appointed with contemporary feel. Spacious. Well stocked kitchen. The view from the sitting room is fantastic and a wonderful window on the changing world. We will return for sure. Small fridge with tiny freezer shelf could be bigger / better for a 4 bedroom house. Towels in a couple of the bedrooms could do with upgrading.
- Sarah (10/5): - The location was great for us. It's a lovely property with a lovely view and clean, nicely decorated comfortable rooms. My dad would've really appreciated the downstairs bedroom and bathroom, had we been lucky enough to have him there.
- Kirsty (10/5): We had a relaxing stay and spent quite a bit of time in the property as it was more than comfortable - The location was just perfect. As a family we prefer bath sheets to bath towels - however appreciate costs to launder all items when properties are rented out.
- Michael (10/5): A wonderful week in Portknockie! - A beautifully refurbished and considerately equipped clifftop cottage - warm, cosy and comfortable and ideal for a family stay (3 children, parents and grandparents). A wonderful, peaceful location with incredible views - and ideal for exploring the local coastline. Darts and snooker in the garage was a welcome addition for the children too! Friendly and helpful support from Susan. Lots to love about this place!
- Heather (8/5): - Lovely cottage in great situation. Small fridge , no freezer. Downstairs shower very hot. Fridge dirty on arrival .
- Mark (10/5): Best Christmas ever! - Beautifully decorated cottage which was extremely warm and comfortable and well equipped. A perfect location for family Christmas get away. Great walks direct from the front door. The whole family agreed it has been our best Christmas ever!! Thank you. Nothing.

- Walker (9/5): Clifftop Cottage at Portknockie - The view was outstanding. A very quiet location but that was what our group wanted.
Ideal for anyone wanting short/long walks along cliffs. I can't find anything negative to say about Clifftop Cottage at Portknockie.
- Jacqueline (10/5): - This cottage is much bigger than the photos show
It's is finished in excellent taste and has the amazing view There is nothing to dislike
- Anna (10/5): - It was a beautiful cottage and exceptionally clean. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest. We didn't want to leave.
- Pavla (10/5): - Fantastic location, beautiful view and very comfortable house
- Amanda (10/5): Perfection - The location was perfect. Equipped with everything you could need and spotlessly clean. It's one of the best air b and bs I've ever stayed in.
- Jennifer (10/5): Outstanding! - Anyone considering this property..go for it! Just such a beautiful house. Absolutely gorgeous. The views...well.
I would love to come back here. Party of five and we all would! Loved the house, loved the views, loved the village. I wouldn't dream of marking you down. Loved your house and would love to come here again in the future. Please take this as intended as a wee bit of constructive feedback.
Couple of niggles/ things to ponder. The housing for the kitchen tap needs sorting. The whole unit swivels. Nearly had an accident with the hot water. I think that hot water is far too hot, in my opinion.
For a house that can sleep 7 the fridge is too small. No freezer was a bit of a surprise as well. Plenty of space for both.
And finally, towels. I think you could be a smidge more generous with the towels. Yes, we washed them, but a couple of spares rather than having to wait on towels drying would have been useful. I'd know to take some more with me next visit. No hand towels for the toilets, for example.
These were very little niggles and in no way would it put me off the house.
- Sarah (9/5): Purely Beautiful - Everything was just lovely 😍 good quality fixtures and fittings, very clean, and supplies enough to make a cuppa before getting a shop in... crisp bedding and towels, toiletriesto freshen up after a long journey... clear, concise, and no fuss instructions, expectations, and guides to ensure we were up to speed. The cottage has been beautifully and respectfully renovated and is obviously loved. Pure beauty on the doorstep, lovely local people in a stunning, clean, and welcoming hamlet. Gorgeous walks in any direction ✨️ and lovely little places in walking distance to eat and drink. Fun and wholesome and something new spotted on every outing, perfect for the family wanting to get away from hustle and bustle.. if you ever have the pleasure of staying here, don't spoil it for others and remember how lucky you are ❤️ There wasn't anything to dislike
- Ryan (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and any time were returning to the area this will be our first choice - Phenomenal location, impeccably clean and well maintained, spacious… would be very difficult to pick faults. Only thing i could nitpick is the double bed being a split mattress with a hard ridge in the middle. Although was still very comfortable.
- Andrew (10/5): Overall this is a beautiful well maintained property in a beautiful location. We would recommend it! - Property is finished to a high standard and in an idyllic spot right on the Moray coast with a view of the Moray firth and Caithness in the distance, everything is provided that you would need. The conservatory at the front is a beautiful spot to watch the sunset and peaceful views over the coast as it is all glass but is slightly spoiled by passers-by, this is quite a well used route and forms part of the coastal path and nearly everyone that passed looked in at us as we sat relaxing in the evening.
Another small niggle was the hot water which was scalding hot and we could not find anyway of reducing the temperature.
- Carr (10/5): Home away from home - Everything was fabulous. Clean comfortable, and the owners couldn't be more helpful when we couldn't work out the heating system and with information regarding the bins. The stay was great. Nothing
- Dhaneesha (10/5): Perfect location, perfect house. Would 100% stay again. - Amazing location, beautiful views over the sea, lovely quiet location. Well stocked kitchen. Also, it's much bigger than it seems on the photos. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- George (9/5): Great stay in a lovely, good sized home which had everything we needed. - Location was 10/10 outstanding views.
House was a good size.
Owners responded quickly to telephone calls & texts.
Heating & hot water as needed.
Wood burner added bonus. Bath sheets would be good.
- Lee (10/5): excellent - Exceptional property with good views. Would be great for a Family stay as well
- Alison (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (10/5): The house was cosy, clean and welcoming. We would love to return again. - The location was excellent, with good views over the sea. Lovely walks nearby. Breakfast not on list of amenities but facilities were excellent to prepare our own breakfast. We could not find any faults.
- Burnett (10/5): Cliff Top cottage little gem. - Loved its location, great base for golf or touring the area for whisky distillery tour. Views are amazing, quiet location. Tesco supermarket in near by Buckie. Cullen just a couple of miles down the road also. Hope to be back next year. N/a
- Alison (10/5): A wonderful break amidst fantastic scenery in a well-appointed cliff top cottage - The cottage was in an idyllic setting - across the road from the coast, so with a fantastic sea view. It was warm and had everything we needed. The rooms were well appointed and everywhere was clean. I couldn't fault anything
- Anne (8/5): This is comfortable, cosy stone cottage which is perfectly located and a great base for touring the local area. - The cottage was very recently modernised and was spotlessly clean. We arrived on a very rainy, windswept evening and were so relieved to enter a warm and welcoming house. We found the supplies that came with the house to be better than most. The view from the living room window was fabulous and the location, overlooking the rocky shoreline, was really lovely and peaceful. The owner was courteous and helpful. Nothing.
- Donald (10/5): Wonderful and Tranquil few days. - We had a most wonderful 3 night stay in Cliff Top Cottage, Portknockie. The accommodation met all our home from home needs and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property was exceptionally clean and we could tell a lot of love and care went into the decoration and accessories. We would love to return here one day.
What we enjoyed the most was sitting in the glass conservatory, watching the world go by and in front of the most amazing sea view you'll ever find. We were so fortunate with warm and sunny weather which enabled us to cycle part of the Moray Coastal Path and have a round of golf on the beautiful coastal Strathlene Golf Course. We would have preferred to have a paper copy of house instructions and information on the local area as we could not access this from technology.
- Allison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dejan (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing house in a stunning village.
I can highly recommend this accomodation..
- Diana (10/5): Absolutely fabulous - Cliff top cottage exceeded our expectations. Everything you could need and more. Extremely well equipped with super comfy beds. The view is amazing and we were lucky enough to see the dolphins on more than 1 occasion. I can thoroughly recommend and we will definitely book again😁 Nothing, just perfect.
- Annette (10/5): Fantastic weekend away - Had the best time here last weekend. The accommodation was amazing and had everything and more that you would need. The place is immaculate and decorated beautifully also. The view is amazing, and we were lucky to have experienced the northern lights when staying, and also dolphins. We cannot wait to book back up for a long weekend stay again. Having to go home.
- Michelle (10/5): Cliff Top Cottage was just what we needed, we felt relaxed after our short stay. - Stunning cottage with amazing views. Cliff Top Cottage had everything you could need and more. Would definitely stay again and recommend to others. Nothing!
