Guest Reviews
- Danny_boy_774411 (10/5): Lovely Property -
- Gina (1/5): Avoid at all costs not worth the money - Nothing. It’s someone’s home which is not advertised at time of booking. The apartment has a strong smell when we arrived. It’s clearly someone’s home and I would not have booked if I knew this Everything. Getting the key was a nightmare. Had to search in bushes. Only got check in details 1 hour after check in time and after I had message, emailed and tried to call.
- Dwyer (1/5): The lack of information on parking on keys made this a really bad experience - Not clean.
No parking disc left, or information. Ended up getting clamped as there was not enough info on parking and how to enter the shuttered underground car park.
Lock box impossible to find. Spent 3hrs searching through estate for lock box which was 25min walk from the property. The video provided was not helpful.
- Erika (7/5): Better than last time! A great location and very tidy place. - Location was excellent for me - close to family. Apartment was clean and tidy in a quiet area, close to amenities. Instructions on how to operate the heating, TV, - no WiFi, where to put the rubbish, and the air fryer was dreadful. Collecting the keys was also an issue - needed to call hosts to solve problem
- Dario (8/5): Very good - I liked the property, just i had a problem, I think the heater it is not working appropriately.
- Valero (10/5): great place - The location was great, the apartment was just beautiful , clean and with lots of natural light, the apartment was very well equipped, the WIFI was excellent and the bed was really nice to sleep in, the area is very quiet and parking was always available Make the lock box easier to find
- Louise (7/5): Good - The location was lovely The mattress was of very poor quality. It was not conducive to a good sleep
- Marianna (10/5): Great place to stay, clean and cosy -
- Michael (1/5): It has potential but needs mostly better service. - We wanted to share our initial impressions of our stay, and unfortunately, it has not been as pleasant as we had hoped. Our experience was particularly disappointing:
- The Booking.com driver dropped us off at the wrong location, leaving us stranded (the driver didn’t get the right address provided by Booking.com, which Booking.com gets from).
- Upon reaching the apartment, there was no one to welcome us, which was quite unexpected. Instead, we received an email with directions to a lockbox located 20 minutes away. Walking to this location in the rain and cold was a poor start to our visit.
- Upon finally entering the apartment, we found it extremely cold. It took over four hours for the space to warm up adequately, as I later discovered that the heater for the central heating system had been turned off.
- The bathroom was smelling awful by time and the shower isn't calibrated properly.
- Broken curtains (roller) in the bedroom
- When opening the oven there came a lot of smoke into the apartment which sets of the fire alarm, it had a really bad smell afterwards.
- we paid €70 cleaning fee upfront but the apartment wasn't that clean.
- Personal property was left at some places in the apartment. We didn't know we we're renting a place of someone else.
Furthermore, there was a noticeable lack of welcoming instructions or helpful information in the apartment, such as:
- The WiFi password (this was also missing from the email).
- Clear instructions on how to operate the heater or other amenities.
- If we must do something with the immersion heater next to the bathroom. This is an uncommon system for us foreigners.
We had higher expectations for our stay and these issues have detracted significantly from our experience.
- Erika (6/5): Loved location - did not like staying in someone else,s home - this was not in ad for apartment - Location was great. I was not aware that people lived in this apartment. Little space for my accessories - home was full of owner's stuff. Laundry basket full of dirty washing. Kitchen appliances in very poor condition - some. Bed covers with rips!!! The apartment itself was good. See above response.
- D (9/5): Lovely quiet home in a nice neighbourhood - Quiet neighbourhood close to Portmarnock and Howth. Extra towels were available. Equipped with all amenities a home needs, ideal for longterm stay and romantic dinners. Staff very helpful online. The bathroom taps are not handy, so I washed my hands in the kitchen sink instead. The neighbour below is nosier than she should be. The mop didn't work, so I bought a new one with a bucket. Hopefully it's still there next time I need it 😃 Be mindful that there's no elevator, and the flat is on the third floor. The staircase seems like it has never been cleaned. Extra bedding would be great.
- Leah (8/5): Excellent quality, very comfortable bed… if you’re ok with 6 flights of stairs - Very comfortable, clean, cozy, and an excellent place to stay. I didn’t realise I would have to lug my very heavy suitcase up 6 flights of stairs, late at night after a very long day….
- Stephen (8/5): Our employee was very satisfied with stay in Coastal apartment - It was booked for our employee. He was very satisfied with everything.
- John (1/5): Disastrous, due to misleading advertising. - Arrived late evening as storm delayed ferry from Holyhead. No parking spaces available. This apartment is situated in a high-density housing estate & parking spaces are numbered. There is no allotted space for no. 11. Drove around the area for over an hour & found no spacesin the adjacent streets. Checked into nearby hotel around 2230. Contacted the local agent next morning. Email reply stated :-
"For parking it's first come first serve"!
In the advertised facilities, the availability of parking is emphasised.
Because of this misleading information, we suffered serious inconvenience & expense, having to find more hotel accommodation for the remainder of our stay.
- Esme (10/5): Neat, comfortable and friendly! - Centrally situated to where we wanted to be. We could walk to Clongriffin station to get to Dublin for St Patrick’s Day!
Friendly accommodation. Hope to be back. I have to admit that it was frustrating in getting information to enter the property. Once received a few hours before arrival - a great relief!
Otherwise, lovely, thanks.
- Kostrzewa (3/5): Worms and problems with hot water and heating - We arrived at the apartment on Friday and problems started from the very beginning. We were told to turn on the heating. No instructions were given on how to do this. I wrote to someone on the hotline to get help, but this person was not the owner of the apartment and did not know where the devices for turning on the heating were. There was also no hot water. We slept in a cold apartment without being able to take a bath. Only in the morning my boyfriend managed to fix the heating and water, but throughout our stay there were problems with the water temperature - sometimes it was cold, sometimes lukewarm, sometimes hot. The first night we also noticed worms coming out of the sofa in the living room. We thought it was a one-time thing. However, then worms started appearing in the hall, there were more of them in the living room and in the bathroom. I was terrified when one climbed into my bathtub while I was taking a bath... There was also a problem with the oven. When we heated it up, a lot of smoke started coming out of it and the fire alarm went off for a while. We couldn't even use the kitchen to heat something up. I am disappointed with what I saw. I didn't expect such conditions after the photos on Booking. It was an apartment added as a new item without many opinions, but it doesn't mean that we should stay in such a place? I have photos that document everything. In my opinion, we should get a refund for staying in this apartment. I'm terribly disappointed.
- Karkhilauri (9/5): Superb -
