- Jodie (1/5): Bad - My booking was canceled 30 minutes before I was supposed to check in and I was left with no place to stay and there were no hotels to be had. He said there was a water leak that was bad enough that I wouldn't be able to stay there, however, he didn't tell me this until I had asked to check in a little bit earlier than 4:00pm. He called me back at 3:30pm and told me he would be cancelling my reservation due to a water leak. He also said he would fully refund my money and I asked him to do it quickly. I checked back in the morning and my refund wasn't processed. I had to reach out to him to ask him to please refund my money and he said he that I would have to cancel it in the portal and THEN he could refund my money. I couldn't do this from the app and I had to figure out who to call at Booking.com to get my money back. Once I spoke to someone, I was able to move the process along. I don't think this was handled well at all and then getting my money back was problematic as well. If I were the host, I would have done everything I could to help the guest that I just left hanging with no place to stay at least get her money back.
