Guest Reviews
- Alistair (2/5): Very poor - The location was good for our purposes 1) The 'fully equipped' kitchen was very poorly equipped. There was no teapot; there were only 4 mugs for a property that supposedly sleeps up to 6; there were only 2 (yes, two) forks in the cutlery drawer; the crockery was a complete mishmash of odds and ends. There was a bulb missing from the kitchen light fitting.
2) The whole property would benefit from a professional clean: the washing machine had dirt and detritus around the door seal which had to be cleaned before it could be used; banisters etc. were obviously badly soiled;. in one of the bedrooms there were false eyelashes stuck to the wall above the headboard which is frankly disgusting and indicates either no cleaning or minimal attention to detail, as does the amount of black mould around the window frames.
3) The screen of the thermostat is cracked and so it is not possible to properly read its settings. As a result we had no heating for the whole stay.
4) The general upkeep of the property is significantly below the standard I would expect. The bathroom door is badly fitting and has no lock; the sink plug cannot be removed from the drain using the lever, and had to be pried out when full of water. Each bedroom is poorly equipped with electric sockets, and in at least one of them only one of the two sockets was functional: in all bedrooms two bedside lamps were provided but it was only possible to plug one in. The attic bedroom has minimal headroom, difficult access stairs and a weak area in the floor which felt like it could give way at any time.
5) We attempted to use the posted contact details to make our complaints known, but this only led to an expired link. My message through the Booking.com message facility was unanswered - the only response was an automated query as to whether I wanted to extend my booking or make another direct through their website.
- Jason (8/5): Very good -
- Kimberley (7/5): Good - A very homely atmosphere, and very spacious kitchen and living areas. The host was pleasant and easy to communicate with.
- Camilla (1/5): Too dirty for us to actually stay there sadly - Sadly nothing The whole place was dirty and scruffy throughout. Immediately we were hit with the smell of stale smoke and dog. The floor was badly scratched in living room, drinking glasses were filthy, carpets sticky and covered with brown stains throughout, hairs and crumbs in the beds, black hairs in the bath plug hole so the water drained very slowly. Outside the patio doors there were full bin bags and empty alcohol bottles. We were unable to stay due to the dirty condition of the place.
- Oskar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christine (7/5): Good - Clean and modern No clothes drying facility’s . Needs a waterproof mat under the hat clothes stand to stop wet jackets dripping to damage able flooring.
- Jo (10/5): Home from home, way better value than a hotel! - This is a very homely and comfortable place. Spacious and well set out living areas with adequately equipped kitchen. Patio doors leading into a lovely garden. We really felt at home and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Chungkitty (8/5): I have a good stay overall. Thanks. - The location is good, the property is clean and tidy. I felt warm as I was treated with some biscuits. I cannot find any socket for my electric toothbrush in the toilet. No Mirror in the toilet too.
- Alex (7/5): Good -
- Lianne (10/5): Exceptional - spacious, clean and had everything we needed. lovely quiet location and host was extremely accommodating! thank you nothing
