• Jab32 (10/5): Nice updated cottage/studio walkable to shopping, restaurants with free parking. - Nice, updated private cottage/studio with full kitchen and outdoor space that is easy walking distance to Carytown, etc. And very quick drive to downtown and other Richmond sites. Best for up to two people. And your pup. Easy, free street parking available. Good communication with owners. I would stay again. Nothing.
• Pia (1/5): Bad - The location is central in the area. Also, this is a place where you can stay with your pet. This would also be good to mention in the description of the place it was not super clean and probably would cause symptoms for anyone with animal allergies. The door code that we were given and that we should've used for the door did not function. Luckily, the host, Erik, answered their phone when we called. This was after 10 pm. I just wonder what would've happened if it were later. Probably we would've been locked out. This was annoying, but not the worst part. The city of Richmond had cut water off in the whole city, and the host had no plans in place how we could stay at the flat without working toilet and running water. Eril himself said on the phone that it was better for us to just drive outside of the city and find another accommodation. To this, I answered that this would probably be the best option and that in that case, I wanted to get a refund. Erik said that he could not issue the refund "as all the money is with Booking.com," and that we should ask for a refund from them and preferably call the customer service first in the morning. This should've rung an alarm bell, but unfortunately, I trusted his word. The next morning, I called customer service as advised just to find out that Erik refuses to give us a refund. So, unfortunately, I can't recommend using this location or any of RVA home stays' accommodation as the host has proven to be dishonest.
• Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - The location was absolutely perfect. The little apartment had everything. It was clean and comfortable. It was convenient to have a login for the door.. the company that manages the property response to inquiries very quickly if you run into any problems. Need better instructions on how to use heat/ac. The bed was very high if a guest was elderly or had mobility issues. It would be very nice to have reminders in the room of what days you have to move your car for street cleaning. because we got towed first thing that morning.. Also, my door code of my last 4 digits of phone number did not work to open the door. Luckily the company that is managing the property responded quickly and gave me a backup code which worked for the entire trip.

( who was never there but it seems made some errors like putting m - Nice neighborhood Steep steps covered with tangling vines, and no one there to help when carrying up luggage. When I mentioned this issues w the host he was totally sarcastic ( any chance he would help??? The facility also skimped on silly things like no soap for the sinks.

The property was very clean. I thought the total price, which included cleaning service and tax, of $250 was high.

• Adepujo (10/5): A gem in Carytown! - It's in a great location, just one block away from W Cary St. There is free public parking in front of the property. It's a cozy, super clean studio with a fenced in yard. Our dog loved it! The kitchen came stocked with coffee, snacks and a welcoming bottle of wine. Just very thoughtful! We received clear instructions to enter the premises, with keyless entry. It seems the owners have put a lot of thought into making this rental a little gem!

• Shelley (4/5): I wouldn’t stay there again. - Location I didn’t use the kitchen, but it was nice for a longer stay. 1.There was some type of bugs(fleas, maybe). 2. Polyester sheets. 3.The pillow top or mattress cover made sleeping difficult, it made my body temperature hot. 4.Need a new shower(plastic) curtain, it was stained 5. It had wall plug-ins. It didn’t mask the animal smell. Investing in a air purifier would be a better option.

• Dana (10/5): Fabulous location and even better studio apartment. - the location was great. easy walking distance to shops and restaurants on Carry st. the stand alone studio apartment was fabulous. We brought our dog and they even had dog dishes. area is completely fenced and very nice for our dog to free roam. I can’t say enough great things. didn’t like that I only could stay 1 night. The place is very clean and comfortable..nothing negative to say.
