Guest Reviews
- Peter (8/5): Had a weekend break eating oysters and visiting the beach, market, shops and restaurants. Very nice! - Nice house, well appointed and welcoming. Enjoyed the board games!
Just round the corner from the high street too. Very steep stairs and little telly
- Jane (6/5): Nice cottage but improvements needed - Location was fabulous, so close to everything
Nice decor
Comfy beds
Nice shower The stairs were a nightmare, they are almost more like climbing a ladder than stairs. I know the listing warns anyone with mobility issues, we don't have any however all of us found it tough! My 7 year old was petrified she was going to fall. The toilet being downstairs made the stairs situation even more stressful.
The cottage was quite shabby, it could do with a deep clean at the least and a redecoration at best. Things didn't work, the plug in the bath let water out, the windows wouldn't stay open etc. The cottage also had quite an odd smell about it that despite me trying to clean, didn't go away.
Windows were single glazed and due to being near the main town, it was quite noisy at night
There was some miscommunication surrounding the bins which we could have done without on a relaxing stay. Happy to help however there were mixed messages about how that would happen due to some messages being automated. Then the collection was either missed or didn't come anyway. The window cleaner also came while we were there so I had to make sure the windows were shut, it was also quite early in the morning. It just doesn't add to the relaxation of being away.
- Melanie (8/5): Great location! - Excellent location with shops and beach a short walk away. A lovely little cottage, comfortable beds and nice living spaces. All extras supplied were great, good to have dishwasher and washing machine. We appreciated having all the plates/glasses and cookware to use as well as the board games. The stairs are very steep and narrow but I suppose that is because of the age of the building, we coped ok but I think those more elderly or young children would struggle. Also, you can hear the neighbours through the walls. It would be useful to have a clothes airer to dry washing on.
- Helen (8/5): Very enjoyable - Location
Beds
Kitchen especially the cooker
Board games
Dining table Garden was tired
TV small
Difficult to park
- Serena (8/5): - Nice place and excellent location - everything is in walking distance. Knew the stairs would be steep, as have lived in a Victorian terraced house in the past, but they were extremely steep and like climbing up a ladder. Also, building works in the house directly opposite were noisy, especially first thing in the morning.
- Amanda (6/5): Okay. Good location. No good for people with limited mobility. - Good location The stairs were too steep. Not good for us (oldies).
- Louise (7/5): An enjoyable weekend very close to all the amenities. - The location was excellent right on top of Harbour street and the beds and sofas were very comfortable, the kitchen has most things in it you would need to stay there. In general the property was clean but could do with a deep clean. It has alot of extra's for instance a high chair and plenty of seating in the house. The oven door doesn't shut properly and when we turned it on smoke came out of it so we were unable to use the oven to cook. The garden furniture could do with updating. There seems to be a damp patch in the bathroom which needs to be looked at as the paint is peeling away. The stairs are super steep but my aunt used to live in a house in Albert Street so I knew this would be the case as most of the houses stairs are the same.
- Maria (8/5): Very good - Location. Simple. Comfortably equipped. Staircases.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very good -
- Kathleen (7/5): Good -
- Sally (10/5): Lovely break in a lovely house. - House beautifully clean with everything you need. Thoughtfully decorated, we loved all the wall art and details. Beds very comfy and so were the sofas. Great friendly communication from host made everything easy. Location perfect shops, harbour, fabulous restaurants all in stumbling distance. Definitely not for anyone with mobilty issues. This is clearly stated in the listing so we were aware before we arrived but the stairs are tricky and the bathroom downstairs. Parking is a little difficult as others have said but we didn't need to move our car once parked as house location is so good. There is also a car park very near the house.
- Greening (10/5): Exceptional - Great location Nothing
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): Just the perfect cottage with a perfect location - Perfect cottage for a great stay with friends

The place itself was immaculate and very well looked after.
If I'm down that way again I know where I will be staying.

- David (9/5): Superb - The cottage was very clean and had everything you needed for a great stay. The beds were very comfortable and location perfect for walking into town and to the beach. The only thing that could be changed to improve our stay would be some hooks to hang out coats.
- Sam (8/5): Very good - Very comfortable, simple , clean . Good outside space The oven door doesn’t close , so you’re unable to use it .
