- H (3/5): Nice Flat, But Undone by Hostile Downstairs Neighbours and Poor Soundproofing - Nothing else matters if the basics aren’t right — and unfortunately, the downstairs neighbours made our stay deeply uncomfortable. During our stay, they banged aggressively on the bathroom window with a broom while my wife was showering, and again on the walls at 6am when our toddler woke — she weighs just 10kg, for context on how poor the floor insulation is.
It’s not a renter’s responsibility to compensate for inadequate soundproofing, but the neighbour’s response was hostile and disproportionate. If you don’t want to live below others, don’t. If your building isn’t suited to short lets, address it through the proper channels — but don’t intimidate guests with aggressive behaviour.
The flat itself is lovely, but guests should be made aware of the neighbour situation before booking. We packed up to leave early as a result. the floor shaking when moving around, its like walking on a trampoline, rattling — not surprised the downstairs neighbours are annoyed — but don’t take it out on renters, make a complaint to the landlord;; or better still buy a house with concrete sub floors.
the carpet in the bedroom — carpet, generally, is nasty. and the rug in the lounge.

- Olivia (4/5): We had a great time in Windsor, just wish that the 3 of us had a comfortable stay. - The location was great. It was nicely decorated. Booked for 3 guests and didn’t have bedding for the sofa bed, no pillows and only 2 towels. When we called to get this sorted, we were told as it was 7pm it was too late and that they would ask the house keepers to bring bedding for the sofa bed, pillows and towels in the morning. They also asked us to confirm the property had definitely been cleaned. Which it had as far as I could see, the sink did have white dirty water marks all over but everything else was clean. We left for the day and came back around 6pm to find that the housekeepers had left 2 pillow cases and two sheets but no quilt insert or pillows. Disappointed to say the least. We called again and explained our dissatisfaction and the first night one of us had to sleep with no blankets on and in puffer coats. The second night they had to sleep with just a sheet over them. The house keeping team did come the following day and provide a quilt insert. We then checked out at 10 am and I received a call at 2pm asking where I had left the key as the house keeping team hadn’t located them. I explained I left it in the lockbox as requested and the person on the phone said the new guests must have checked in earlier. I would be extremely dissatisfied if I had checked into a place that hadn’t been cleaned yet. Location and place was lovely, just extremely disappointed we paid for 3 guests and only 2 had a comfortable stay.
