We loved the bright sunny kitchen. The courtyard garden is delightful, sunny and well equipped. Located just a short walk from the seafront it’s perfect for strolling into town. The Saturday market is great and Dunkerleys serves great food as does the Mexican restaurant opposite the pier. We will book again without a doubt! Nothing to see here! 😊

• Carol (9/5): Beautiful house, excellent location, superb holiday. - The property is superb, very comfortable and well equipped. Small niggles, I found I needed a topper on the bed as it was very firm. The bed is super wide and the duvet is not wide enough if you sleep at the edges, like we do. There was a hand towel for each toilet but no other smaller towels available for hair washing or using the bidet. Hard to get the bath towel dry. Lots of toys for young children but very little for adults, a pack of cards and maybe a few paperbacks for wet days would be welcome. Oven is huge and quite hard to turn on/use, I missed not having an airfryer.

• Sarah (9/5): A very comfortable place for an extended stay. - The position. It was very close to the town and the sea, but was quiet and set well back from the road. A very comfy bed. Plenty of space and storage in the house and all the kitchen goods you needed. Free parking. Utility room and toilet on the ground floor. The very steep stairs to the 2nd floor bedroom.

Would love to return in better weather to make proper use of garden with lovely seating area. Stairs are very steep and worth pointing out in description. Not a problem for us but potentially could be.

Convenient location (adjacent to castle) with the beach and Deal high street literally on your doorstep.
• Nilgün (10/5): Great house, great location, great host – we loved it! - Absolutely loved our stay! The house was beautiful, really well equipped, and felt like a home away from home. The location couldn’t be better – right in the heart of lovely Deal, which has so much charm with its little galleries, shops, and cafés. It’s not just the house, it’s the whole vibe of the place that made the trip so special. Also, a big thank you to the owner – communication was super friendly and helpful. We’d come back in a heartbeat! Honestly, there was nothing to complain about – everything was just great.

• James (10/5): Great house, fantastic location. - A lovely spacious house in a perfect location for Deal Beach and castle. Also a great base to visit other places in Kent (nothing seemed too far away). Good parking at the rear of the property although a bit pokey to get to but our Peugeot 308 easily coped with that. The house was spotless and more treats left than you would expect which was a lovely touch. 3 toilets with 2 bathrooms (including 1 en suite) was very welcome...so no waiting for a toilet to be free for us. The back garden is a sun trap all afternoon into the evening, so eating out the back would be perfect. Our host, Jo was exceptional with fantastic and friendly communication from start to finish. 10 / 10 from us and would definitely stay here again if we were visiting Kent. Just be aware if you aren't great with stairs or very tall, the 2nd set of stairs to the top floor could be a challenge.
• Penelope (10/5): Pilots Lodge is a charming and tranquil cottage where we could relax and feel very comfortable after our days out. Than - It was pretty and comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was a welcome basket with a few essentials so we arrived and could have tea in the pretty garden. We liked everything, it’s a charming, old cottage so the stairs are rather steep and narrow but even my 95 year old mum managed.

• Beth (9/5): A lovely stay at a beautiful property. All so very clean and new and nicely done. sun trap garden. - Lovely, clean, fresh and new. Lovely manager (Jo). V clear communication. They had clearly listed that the stairs are very steep. Which is typical in deal. But I would say the upper stairs are also very narrow. We were travelling (last min) with my father in law who is big boned. So the only thing I’d add to the listing is that they are quite narrow. Also there are 2.5 bathrooms which is fab. But loo ok ground floor and 2 on first floor, not one on top layer. Which it might have said on the listing and we just didn’t realise.

Pilot's Lodge provided the perfect home from home to enjoy our short break. - Pilot's Lodge perfectly located to access the castle, beach coastal bath and the historic old town of Deal. No negatives. Property provided all facilities needed for a short or longer break. Welcome pack including bread and milk was very nice.

• Elizabeth (10/5): Excellent. - Absolutely everything had been thought of and was provided. Spotless, stylish and extremely comfortable. Jo ( the booking agent) was very helpful, especially afterwards, facilitating the return of forgotten items!
• Rob (9/5): Superb - Very clean and modern. Location is excellent, just off the seafront and a 2 minute walk into town. Car parking space is invaluable as parking in Deal can be a bit of a problem. Lighting can be a bit harsh with a ceiling full of spotlights, fitting dimmer switches would be a great help.

We didn’t miss anything as we even had a beautiful Christmas tree ready decorated in the living room. You can safely call it a home away from home.

Would highly rec - Beautifully clean, very comfortable property within walking distance of the town and the beach. New appliances. Very well appointed . The log burner excellent and welcome in December! Having its own parking was a must in the old part of town where roads are very narrow . The attic room is fine, obviously more basically furnished in a smaller space but mattresses on the two divans were very uncomfortable ..room had hairdyer but no mirror

• Katie (9/5): Fabulous cottage by the sea. - This is a fabulous property, spacious and cozy all in one. I love the layout and think the kitchen is wonderful. Bed is super comfy. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. Would definitely stay again There is nothing to dislike, the only thing I would say is the en-suite bathroom it a little bit of a let down. It’s a great space, but sadly missing its potential - It could be made luxurious and indulgent with new decor & suite and a bath to fit 2! Shower water was temperamental in heat v cold. Additional hand towels in the bathrooms would have been appreciated

• Gary (8/5): Overall a great property within walking distance to castle town restaurants and pubs. - The lounge, kitchen, utility and the main bedroom were excellent. very well equipped all the facilities were there and a lovely queen size bed. The bathroom and shower room were very good. We managed to park both our medium size cars in the space provided, a large vehicle would preclude this. The garden was very nice and well kept. the stairs are quite narrow to the main bedroom and even more narrow to the loft bedroom. The twin beds were not the most comfortable (okay for a short stay).

• Tina (10/5): Just the perfect place to stay in Kent, lovely comfy home. - Excellent instructions from the host every step of the way. The location was just perfect with everything in walking distance, shops, pubs, restaurants and take aways, walks along the promenade and pier. So close to the town with some lovely shops, greengrocers, bakery, butchers and lots of eating places for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you don't want to, you don't have to use your car for the entire time you are there. The house is very roomy, light and bright, garden is lovely, very private with everything you could want for a lovely stay in any season. The bed was super comfy and bathrooms just perfect with a choice of walk in shower or bath. Plenty of utensils and crockery in the kitchen. Nothing not to like. Some might say they don't like the busy road, but, there is a gate on the front garden so it is secure and the fantastic windows keep out all the noise and you can open windows and doors at the back to let the air through, so, no problem at all. The traffic is much less busy in the evening and overnight it is quiet.

Road was noisy when we left windows open slightly. A nearby house alarm waking us all up at 2am but nothing that anyone could have done about that. A lot of stairs.

• Christine (9/5): Wonderful Location - The position was brilliant. We loved Deal and were in easy reach of the seafront and town. The house was comfortable and well equipped. The outdoor space was beautifully designed and planted. The attic room had very low ceilings and the stairs were steep for older guests. (I realise it's an old house). Unfortunately, it wasn't as clean as other properties. Dust on the blinds and mirrors, hairs in the bathroom. Clingwrap, kitchen roll, etc. would have been useful and is available in most other properties.

• David (9/5): Great location, great lodge, great visit. - Location was perfect, facilities were good and nicely set up. Only issue was the stairs. We were not expecting such narrow and steep stairs. Someone with even slight mobility issues would have found the stairs very difficult. Maybe mentioning that in the details would be good.

• Helen (10/5): Loved it for a holiday with young family. - Beautifully presented home with great shared space on the ground floor for us to enjoy as a family. The collection of toys and books was a big bonus. As were the stair gates to keep our toddler contained. Everything worked well, beds were comfortable and location is great for getting out of the door to the seafront easily. One day we walked to Walmer Castle and Garden along the promenade and had a great day without having to drive. No complaints, if you have any mobility issues the steep narrow stairs may be an issue for you.
• Rebecca (10/5): Really restful stay in a lovely gem of a place in a great location in Deal. - Really lovely place, bright and airy with lovely decor and well kitted out. There were some lovely personal touches (thanks for the Easter eggs!) and it was very relaxed and comfortable. Fabulous location in deal and great to have that parking space. There are steep steps up to the top kids bedroom so just something to note if you have very little ones.

• Helen (10/5): What a lovely house! - Lovely old house, sympathetically modernised and decorated with all mod cons. Spacious and very private with everything thing you could need, including a well-appointed kitchen, an enclosed yard/garden, a cosy log fire, and on-site parking. The bed was really comfortable. Great location, really close to shops, beach and castle. As to be expected in a house of its age, the stairs are quite steep and narrow. Steps where the floor level changes are also something to be aware of in the dark. We could have done with some simpler instructions on how to operate the cooker, and if staying in the summer I would probably want black-out curtains in the bedroom. But other than that it was perfect.

• Janette (10/5): Lovely place near town centre and beach - All very new and clean. Good open plan space downstairs - 3 sofas, a very well stocked kitchen and a utility with wc. Lovely bathrooms (a shower room and large ensuite to main bedroom with bath). Top bedroom in roof void, two single beds great for kids. Neat designed garden with easy access through from parking at the back. We love to recycle but not sure which of 3 bins at back to put bottles in, a few instructions would be good. Just a note for others, stairs quite narrow, especially to top floor, so not too good if mobility issues.
• Sherron (10/5): Practically perfect in everyway…… we will be back !!! - What a find, this property is a little gem a stones throw from the beach in Deal. The attention to detail down to the dish washer tablets and the welcome loaf of bread and butter pays and milk to the tray with tea, coffee sugar and the little packets of biscuits were a nice touch. The log burner was the icing in the cake. Thank you Jo and Team we have had the most relaxing few days and look forward to staying with you again Sherron & Paul Just one thing and it is not a dislike…… a mirror in the main bedroom would be good so that us ladies can do our hair and make up ( maybe a fold up one that sits in the drawer in front of the bedroom window when not needed ) thank you
