Guest Reviews
- Karthik (7/5): Pleasant staff but the apartment needs a facelift to match the photos - Located conveniently near a park / kids playground
Beds were comfortable and the apartment was functional / clean but it was an average stay overall. The photos aren’t really accurate for the current state of the apartment - maybe what it looked like a few years ago but it is definitely in the need of a revamp
Some points to note
There is only one washroom / shower with a bathtub which isn’t the best for older folk - water pressure in the shower leaves a lot to be desired.
The couch is uncomfortable and not really usable.
The apartment had issues when we checked in - a nail for a toilet lock, toilet bulb not working, the wash basin rack missing with pointed metal sticks jutting out and the dining chairs broken in places - to the property manger’s credit, they were responsive and these issues were resolved in a couple of days over the weekend.
The blinds were pretty run down and in need of replacement too.
The kitchen / washroom area has a lot of low ceilings and it’s very easy to bump your head around the steps / door area if you’re not careful.

- Eter (9/5): - Very friendly staff. We we treated as the special guests of the pub. Some renovation of the blinds would be helpful.

- Rainer (2/5): This was the poorest accommodation I have ever stayed in. Unacceptable in so many aspects… - Apartment is 1930 style, cheapest construction and not renovated since. Tiny. Loud. Windows don’t close. Carpet is worn out. Basin broken.
- Rodrigo (10/5): Tudo exatamente como descrito e ainda ganhamos deliciosas pizzas do PUB abaixo para cada um dos convidados, estávamos em - Tudo bem limpo e aconchegante
- Helena (9/5): -
- ZULKEFFELI (8/5): Excellence - Easy access, great location, well assited by the staff at the Pub, free pizza nil
- Adele (8/5): - Excellent location to walk into the city centre. The apartment is a little tierd but comfortable and clean.
- Victoria (9/5): Great stay. Came with some friends for a wedding. It was really great to have pizzas included - Was such a great surprise to have pizzas included.
- Tsvetana (8/5): - Locatie was op loopafstand van het centrum. -
- Catherine (10/5): - Great location. Check in was easy and the staff friendly and helpful
- Linda (9/5): Superb -
- Judith (7/5): Suited us perfectly - The accommodation was spacious and we loved being above the pub. Great pizza on arrival. Friendly hosts. Very convenient for Newnham College.
- Preston (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place right above an awesome pub and a 15 min walk from the heart of Cambridge. The flat had a large kitchen, lots of space, and the host was super responsive and helpful.
- Adam (5/5): Good space but rough around the edges - Free pizza, good space Space was very hot, despite only being 23 degC outside. Also the bathroom has a screw shoved into a latch to lock the door, something that could be solved with 5 mins and a new lock!
- Anna (9/5): In general we enjoyed our stay! Thank you! - There are three separate bedrooms, living room and kitchen, so it was plenty of space for two of us))
Nice location- 15 min beautiful walk to the city center. Tasty pizza as welcome gift!;) Because of the pub downstairs there was some noise- thanks god only til 23 o’clock! At night everything was quiet. Then at 7-8 o’clock there was some noise from the next apartment.
- Edmund (8/5): Very good -
- Brenda (7/5): We were with family so it was lovely to be together in one place. We had agreat weekend. It was als - Could do with another toilet and a new more powerful shower. We were over the back entrance which was a little noisy at times. The flat in general was a little ‘tired’ looking but comfortable. It was very handy for centre of Cambridge and the walk in was lovely. The key box was a bit fiddly
- Karen (8/5): Good location , great pizza and nice and quiet - Take a few complementary pizza in the pub downstairs, which was not anticipated but exceptional. It was quite a large space really good for a family. Private parking and easy walking to the city. They kind enough two letters do a late checkout which was appreciated. The weather was changeable, but unfortunately it’s quite cold and there’s only two heaters for three bedrooms other than that absolutely fine.
- Jone (7/5): We had a very enjoyable and relaxing weekend in Cambridge. - It was spacious and well presented. The complimentary pizzas were a very thoughtful gesture. The flat was very well located for the city centre, which was only a walk away. The bathroom door was unsafe (it was falling apart). There were a couple of window handles that kept falling off whenever we attempted opening / closing the windows. The blinds were very difficult to open / close.
- Roshini (8/5): Very good - The house was warm and we had a comfortable stay.
The free pizza's were really good as well. The pictures aren't really representative of the layout of the stay.
- Hui (9/5): Superb -
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gaynor (8/5): We were having a family weekend away and it was a great location to enjoy Cambridge - Great location and pizza deal was a nice touch! Everything was good couple of minor things - Lock not working on toilet door and initially only had 5 forks for 6 of us! Pub gave me another one!
- Richard (5/5): Ok, but needs renovation - This flat was well positioned for a weekend exploring Cambridge, just 10-15 minutes walk from the town centre. It was also good to be above a nice pub, and close to others, and the ‘welcome pizzas’ on the first night were very good The property just needed some renovation, and minor additions. For example, there was no plug or washing up bowl in the kitchen, there was no lock on the toilet door, some of the electrical sockets weren’t securely and safely attached to the walls, and the back panel on the bathroom door was hanging off and caused the door to jam. The bathroom and kitchen would also benefit from upgrades too, including re-tiling and a shower screen (rather than curtain) in the former. The flat was warm and clean / tidy enough, though, the TV and dining table were good, and the beds were comfortable.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Guillaume (9/5): Superb -
- Isak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (9/5): The accommodation helped to make our extended weekend stay for my daughter’s wedding just perfect. - The location was perfect for easy walking access to central Cambridge which we needed for our trip. Facilities were ideal with all that we needed for our visit. Hosts were very accommodating and soon replied to any queries we had about our visit. There was a slight issue with the bathroom door, but this didn’t spoil our visit.
- Kashoj (1/5): Worst staff - Very good property. the staff was very rude when we checked out late . They put false blames on us for damaging the property and complaining about the condition of the property just because there was some sugar on the kitchen slab . First train your staff to be professional and not to be a racist.
- Chad (9/5): Superb -
- Stephen (8/5): Very happy with our stay. A great option if you want all the family staying together. - The apartment was very nice and well kitted out. The bonus free pizza in the pub downstairs was excellent. The weather on our visit was sunny and hot, but unfortunately this meant the flat was very hot with no air flow and with windows open was noisy as is on a main road.
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Katharine (9/5): Great stay in a great location! -
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashton (4/5): This is first booking.com that we have given a bad review to- very disappointing - Central heating not working. Shower was cold. Rudimentary kitchen.
- Kathryn (7/5): Magical - Location perfect free pizza at the pub very friendly hosts
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- István (5/5): Passable -
- Tia (9/5): Excellent, near key places but just out of the way flat, super pub, just right for a weekend stay. - The location was excellent for an event at one of the colleges, getting into the city centre and accessing the train station. The flat is an excellent size, plenty of space, near a shop, everything worked. The pub staff were friendly and helpful, it's a great place for some food or drinks, and it was not too noisy too late - one bedroom overlooks the garden area, the other two are on the opposite side. Could have done with some more teaspoons and washing up liquid, but otherwise everything was there that we wanted. It was very warm inside but it was the unusually hot weekend in September so everywhere was warm.
- Jackie (8/5): Very good -
- John (9/5): Superb - The location is great, with an easy, pleasant walk into central Cambridge or out to Grantchester. The hosts were welcoming and accommodating
- Emily (9/5): Superb - Great value for money between a group and loads of space!
