Guest Reviews
- McIntosh (6/5): Very good location and comfy for the two nights I needed. Would probably use again. - Location excellent Could not work TV
Shower very week
Bed side lighting would be nice
- SAAD MOHAMMAD SALIM HAJI (1/5): -
- Maria (10/5): - Great location. Very central.
- sharon (2/5): Good location - everything else poor. - Location good. Immersion heater needs sorting. Guide needed on how to use facilities. Proper settee needed as two chairs are very uncomfortable. No hot water. Very souless property. Not cosy as described. Agents not helpful at all.
- emma (7/5): Great location but pricey deposit - The location of the property was brilliant, it was close to the centre of stamford. The facilities were clean abs you got a parking space. The deposit amount required was a shock. Although they advised you that after booking a deposit would be required, the amount of £300 wasn't specified until after you paid for your stay. The deposit is refundable, but it took almost a week to get it back.
- linda (10/5): - Location Nothing
- Deborah (8/5): Great location with parking space. - The property was in a great location with parking. It had a secure locking system. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows. The kitchen had all you needed. It was clean and tidy. It smelt stale, leaving the windows open on the locking option helped reduce the smell. It would benefit from a sofa as the chairs were too rigid, I couldn’t relax. It would benefit from a fan and a roller blind in the shower room.
- Ian (6/5): -
- Antony (10/5): Good location, quiet. Clean & Well equipped. - location & Quiet. nothing
- Stuart (5/5): It wouldn’t be our first choice to stay again but would consider it if they made it more welcoming - Good location ,comfortable bed ,good shower, off road parking ,fresh towels and felt safe No welcome touches, no bin liners in the bins, no clear instructions for hot water in kitchen , so had no hot water ,could of done with a sofa instead of two chairs as it didn’t feel cosy
- Jane (7/5): Disappointing - Great location. Comfortable bed. Clean. Good shower. Prompt communication with agency who looks after the property. No welcome pack. No local information or welcoming message from owners. Closet for clothes doubles as a cleaning cupboard and contained odd things like an old plastic cup and old wrapping paper. No hot water in kitchen or bathroom sink…no washing up bowl so very hard to wash up well. Nowhere to relax…space for a couch but only two upright chairs. High Stools and kitchen mini island at the end of one work surface for eating.
- Graham (4/5): Good location, no hot water in the kitchen and an awful bedroom. - The apartment was very well located. There was no hot water in the kitchen, and I note from the reviews that this has been the case for over a year. When I finally managed to get a response from the company managing the apartment I was told to contact maintenance directly myself to arrange for it to be fixed! Some of the crockery was dirty, not surprising with no hot water over the sink. A table and chairs would have been useful. There was no sofa. The bedroom was tiny with room for only one bedside cabinet, no room for bags and no reading lamps.
- Kay (10/5): Perfect getaway - Compact and bijou but perfect to use as a base for visiting the area.
Excellent location, nice and quiet, but within 5 mins walk of town centre and Burghley Park.
Well equipped kitchen and bathroom with everything needed for our stay.
Allocated parking and additional space for visitors.
Plenty of hot water in the shower.
It was very hot weather but a tower fan is provided. Couldn't get hot water in kitchen sink but was easily resolved by boiling the kettle for washing up.
- Bernie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sfothers (5/5): A great location. Nothing more! - First of all, before going any further, make sure you read ALL the previous reviews of this property. You will find that what I’m about to write has been experienced by many other guests.
This is crucial. The property is managed by a company based in London. Most issues are dealt with by them, not the owner. After booking has been confirmed, the company will demand a £300 deposit to be paid before occupation. This is for damage, late checkout, and other potential issues. It was refunded a week after we departed, but you need to be aware of this.
In the apartment there is no working hot water supply. There is a functional electrically heated shower, but the bathroom wash basin and kitchen hot water supply has just a minute trickle at best. We reported to the host (but in reality the management company) but despite being assured that this was being dealt with “by our maintenance team” we were totally ignored.
The smoke detector in the apartment was not fitted, and was lying on the floor of the wardrobe. We reported to the host (but in reality the management company) again, despite being assured that this was being dealt with “by our maintenance team” we were totally ignored.
There is a noisy water tank next to the bedroom. It is in a cupboard with no door and the electric heater came on 2/3 times a night making a noise like a gigantic electric kettle that wakes you up each time it switches on.
The kitchen is equipped with just the bare minimum cutlery, dishes, plates and cooking pans.
During our almost two week stay clean towels were provided, but no change of bed linen.
The bedroom is tiny, and has no bedside tables or shelves.
On the positive side for us, the apartment is in a great location and has a dedicated parking space. Also, as our stay was for almost two weeks, a big plus was the property having a washing machine. However, there was no iron or ironing board, and the owner (not the management company) did supply both these items. Please read the above.
- Timothy (6/5): Needs a complete refresh, not really fit for purpose - The location is great; a short walk from everything. The bed was comfortable and the shower good. The kitchen sink had no hot water and the hot supply to the bathroom basin was a trickle. This is 2025 not 1925. Unacceptable. The kitchen was minimally equipped, especially with cutlery. Combined with the difficulty of washing up without hot water it rather diminished the advantage of an apartment over a hotel room. Cleaning left something to be desired. The bedroom closet was so dusty and cluttered we didn’t use it.
- Steve (5/5): Great location but need to sort out their water issue !! - Location and very clean No hot water from the kitchen tap or the tap in the bathroom sink (if turned mixer taps to hot then no water at all, could only get water by turning them to cold !!)
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Colin (10/5): Great venue and great access to everything in Stamford. - Location was great, we were able to walk everywhere in Stamford.
Nice, warm and comfortable with almost everything we needed for the stay. The bed was a little small, but a bigger bed would not fit in the bedroom, so understand that it’s just a double.
We could have done with an iron/ironing board.
- Caroline (9/5): Clean and comfortable flat, well positioned in the centre of Stamford. - Well located property in the center of Stamford. The flat was clean and contained everything needed for my stay. The bed was comfortable and the instructions sent to me in advance of my stay were well communicated. I would recommend. Cutlery was a limited but fine for one person. Bedside lights would make reading in bed more comfortable.
- Owen (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful little place perfect for a couple to stay in. We had a lovely time and the owners were very helpful. The place was clean, cosy and comfortable and helped give us the perfect trip.
- Sharma (7/5): Good -
- Nicola (5/5): Too many rules - made the stay uncomfortable - Good location for exploring the town as only a 5 minute walk. The area is really quiet as it all looks like old peoples flats. The bed was nice and comfy and the apartment had a parking space. The list of rules that came with the property before we arrived had our backs up. We had to pay a £300 deposit for cleaning and we were given a list of prices for smoking, having a party, not checking out by 10 am, lost keys and excessive rubbish left in the property. This made our stay really uncomfortable as we didn't dare make a sound for fear of losing our deposit or being charged more. Maybe these hosts have been stung by other guests before but it isn't nice to tar all guests with the same brush. There was no hot water in the bathroom and kitchen taps. The heating was off when we arrived even though we were asked for an arrival time and it was freezing. There was only 1 loo roll provided which we thought was a bit tight. The chairs in the kitchen/lounge are not at all comfortable to sit in. The place is in what looks like a group of old peoples flats which is maybe where the noise rules come from. We arrived in the dark and it was really hard to see the padlock on the cupboard door to get the key out even using the torch on our phone. There is nowhere in the flat to put your things, the wardrobe shelves had spare towels and sheets on and if you hang up your clothes they are touching the hoover. This should be put in the outside cupboard where the keys are kept.
- Kay (10/5): Gorgeous little apartment - Gorgeous little apartment in the heart of Stamford, ideal for exploring the town and Burghley Park. Easy process for checking in. Compact and bijou but had everything we needed .
Exceptional value for money. We would love to stay again. A couple of minor points would have made it absolutely perfect (shower caddy for soap etc, sidelight for bedroom shelf,) Maybe some written instructions for heating and TV but we figured it all out eventually.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Steve (4/5): No return for us - very disappointed S. - Location Noisy water tank next to bedroom with no door and came on and filled 2/3 times a night (it wakes you up and disturbs your sleep) no hot water at both kitchen and bathroom sinks. Damp smell in property - tv very hit and miss to work - no welcome pack on arriving (never not had one at any other place, we have ever stayed)
- Gerald (1/5): Poor customer service. Cramped soulless property. - Located close to town centre. Own parking spot No hot water. Reported to host but ignored. Left early and asked for refund. Still no response. Open view of hot water tank in bedroom. The most soulless depressing property.
- Tracey (9/5): Superb - This great little apartment was just what we needed to spend some time in Stamford. Close walking distance to town. It had the best mattress I have ever slept on we slept so soundly.
Great loved it.
- Paul (7/5): Good - Quiet location. Good parking. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Hot water system didn't work for kitchen tap. Minimal cutlery etc, no cafetiere or teapot. Limited space.
- Mark (8/5): We had a great time but as we were travelling for four weeks we needed a few extras to make our stay really comfortable - Perfect position, easy access to the town centre. Excellent value. Needed a sofa to relax on
- Suki (7/5): Good -
- Paige (8/5): Very good - Very clean and exactly like the pictures. Easy to check in/out and lovely quiet location Only one pillow on the bed
- Kelly (8/5): Perfect stay for my aunties wedding that was close by - Location , perfect for two people Smelt a bit damp
- Alan (8/5): Lovely stay would go back again - Great location and parking.very clean and kitchen was well equipped though we didn’t use it Needs a small settee chairs not comfortable also a small table and some coasters to put your cups on.No hot water this seems to be an ongoing problem according to the reviews .A bedside table would be nice
- Louise (7/5): Good - Location excellent and quiet
TV was ok
Shower was good
Little touches eg book of Stamford and Zen takeaway menu (which we used) Couldn't get hot water
No toilet roll
Unsure where outside wheelie bin was
Main entrance and flat entrance were fiddly
Pillow was too low (I woke up with a tension headache)
Mattress too hard for us
No kitchen roll
Seating uncomfortable
- Williams (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anita (7/5): Good place to stay for a mini break in Stamford - Very close to the town really useful when wearing heels to the George for a ‘posh’ meal Though we had clicked on the heater switch we still did not get any hot water from the taps but the shower worked very well.
- Jan (5/5): Passable - Very convenient position. No hot water. Emersion heater cupboard door missing. Would have been helpful to have instructions e. g. TV etc.
- Iurie (8/5): Very good -
- Derek (10/5): Brilliant - Nice and close to the Town Every thing was available
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (8/5): Very good - Location and quality of decor and furnishing. The boiler was a bit noisy but a door on the cupboard where it stands would help.
Not enough colour in the far-too-beige decor.
- Megan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (8/5): Very good -
- Charlotte (7/5): Clean and good location, quiet. - Clean, presented well. No hot water from taps for a couple of days.
On arrival no instructions on how to put the heating on or info on recycling. We arrived after long haul flight so having info would help.
- Sheree (8/5): Very good -
- Elizabeth (9/5): Very clean and convenient for Stamford town centre and Burleigh House - N\a
- Chris (9/5): Great location & enjoyable stay in Stamford. - Great location to explore Stamford, clean & well equipped apartment, perfect for a short stay. Could do with some more soft furnishings & instructions for the heating/hot water would be helpful.
- John (4/5): Tiny bedroom, cold water very unwelcoming - Location No heating when we arrived, no hot water at all and only one fork. Needs instructions
- William (6/5): Pleasant -
- Florian-jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fenton (8/5): A great little find would be happy to stay again - Location great for us. Apartment easy to find and very clean. We didn’t eat there but kitchen very well equipped. It was a great stay for us and we’d be happy to recommend this abnb to anyone Need bedside tables and lamps maybe small sofa in lounge area but generally very comfortable
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
