• Pakwing (3/5): Good: price vs Sqm ----- Bad: crazy noise in basement room, rendering in un-liveable - Its a spacious place and has a unique Flemish rustic look and feel that I like. There is piano and a lot of space for kids to roam around. The price per sqm is very reasonable. I was aware the place might have a few issues based on the rating, and I want to acknowledge that the owner did take the time to address some of the shortcomings and even offered a small compensation, which I appreciated. this made it a 3 star and not a 1 star review. That said, there are still a few decisions and maintenance issues that left me scratching my head. For example, the toilet seat was broken—something that seems like a quick and inexpensive fix (maybe €30). There was some mold in the corners of the bathroom, which a proper cleaning could easily resolve. Here and there, you’ll notice botched renovation jobs, which I guess is somewhat expected with some Airbnb-style rentals. The biggest issue, however, was with the basement room—ironically the nicest-looking room in the unit. There’s a serious noise problem there. This isn't your typical fridge hum or light ventilation noise. It was loud and disruptive—at one point, it sounded like someone was throwing buckets of water right next to the bed. This happened during one of our nights, and the guests sleeping in that room weren’t able to get any rest. I don’t know what’s causing it, but honestly, that room shouldn't be listed as livable until the issue is resolved. Again, the owners were sympathetic and did offer a small compensation, which I respect. This was my first time booking a BnB-style property through Booking.com, and I generally associate Booking with more consistent quality. If this had happened through Airbnb, I might have been a bit more forgiving, but I expected a higher standard here. If you are hosting your mates for stag party maybe this accommodation suffices bit def not for a multi generation family.
• Vinay (8/5): Good and comfortable stay with some adjustments - The house is spacious, and it has its own charm. After reading all the reviews, we have already made up our minds on what to expect. The location and space inside the house are ample, which made us happy. The attic room is perfect for having a good night's sleep. The host/caretaker was very responsive and clarified our queries. The beds are comfortable and we loved them. Of course, there are certain things which must be taken care of, which will make this place great, e.g., blinds on the windows, the toilet door, noise in the underground room due to the water circulation, and the terrace maintenance.
