Guest Reviews
- Julieann (10/5): We absolutely loved our experience, the view, the comfortable bed, the simplicity, the kitchen and terrace. The location - We felt like we were living in an authentic home in old Hydra. It is a long walk from the bedroom to the WC, but, we would stay there again in the current configuration.
- Roderick (8/5): Hydra is a lovely town with lots of boat rides to a variety of beaches. I - Lovely view of the harbour from the terrace. Nice upstairs bedroom. Never found the cutlery but wasn't a problem. We could have just contacted the hosts but we didn't bother because we ate out most of the time.

- Victoria (8/5): Had a lovely stay - Hydra is a gorgeous island and this house is perfectly placed with lovely views downto harbour. - Beautiful views from an authentic traditional town house. Long way up 2 flights of steps from bathroom to main bedroom. Unfortunately when we were there very noisy building in neighbouring house which started very early. Nobody’s fault but , on our visit, spoilt mornings on terrace!
- Maya (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful typical Hydra house.
- Felix (8/5): Lovely - Very traditional Greek island spitaki with lovely view of Hydra town. The cooker has more or less had it.
- Mara (9/5): Superb - The view. The appearance Nothing
- Marina (10/5): Beautiful house in a perfect location in Hydra town, with gorgeous views of the port. - Our host Helena was wonderful and easy to communicate with, and it was so helpful to have Mrs Dimitra collect us from the port after a tiring journey. The house was so lovely, with gorgeous views and a wonderful location. Thank you for everything!
- Linda (8/5): Beautiful place, marvellous views, too many stairs. - Fantastic location with views from the balcony and, well nearly every room. Beautifully decorated with the most marvellous bougainvillea. It all feels very, well, Hydra. The property is set over three floors, and the main bedroom is at the top, the bathroom at the bottom. Especially if you're tall there's a lot of ducking involved.
- Jane (9/5): An amazing stay in a house full of character - I loved the house. It was rustic and quirky and full of character. This isn't somewhere to stay if you want 5 star luxury but if you want something a bit different, I would highly recommend it. You need to be fit as there are many steps involved - I enjoyed the exercise as I'm an active person. It's not an ideal place for two couples as the main bedroom is accessed through the other bedroom. However, for a couple and kids it's fine. I loved the main bedroom - it was huge with lots of windows opening to a view of the harbour. The bed was large and very very comfortable. The balcony was lovely - ideal for sitting out and watching the world go by. It was also a very quiet house which made it even more relaxing. It would be useful to have some notes on the house ie we spent ages looking for cutlery and eventually contacted helena to ask where we could find it. She said it was in the side drawer of the dining table which we hadn't noticed. Also, we put a load of washing on (washing machine was located outisde the bathroom) and I was standing in the bathroom cleaning my teeth and suddenly saw lots of water coming into the bathroom from a pipe in the wall next to the toilet. I was very alarmed as I didn't know what was happening and the water gushed across the bathroom floor into the shower. I then realised the water was being pumped from the washing machine into the bathroom which quite amused me and I thought it was an ingenious bit of simplistic engineering! However, we were later told that we were supposed to put the hose that fed through the wall into the toilet so that the water drained into the toilet instead of the bathroom floor. It would have been useful to know this. Anyway, it was all part of the character of the house which I really enjoyed. Helena always responded very promptly and I have no complaints at all about our stay.
- Michael (10/5): We’ll be happy to return someday! - Beautiful house with a great view!
