- Daniel (8/5): Lovely stay in nature and great value for money! Natalia is the best! - I stayed here for two nights in mid-April during the first half of the Easter break with my two children. While the wet weather dampened things a bit, we would definitely return, thanks mainly to Natalia's attentive and kind treatment. As other reviews have noted, she is a real gem and looked after us superbly. Thank you, Natalia, and your staff!
Our visit coincided with two large groups of scouts; we were the only family during that time (it is a young person's camping site after all, so it was to be expected). Even though I'm sure the staff were kept very busy by these groups, they ensured we were cared for. We had our own special place in the dining hall during mealtimes, where we were allowed in first, and the food was served directly to us. The food itself was very good (all homemade, in the time we were there we had soups, fish, lentils, burgers, empanadas, and lasagne) and since we had full-board/pension completa, it was great value for money (breakfast 09:00, lunch 14:00, afternoon snack/merienda 17:00, dinner 21:00).
The cabins are nestled within pine trees and are basic (with amusing graffiti from the kids who have stayed!) but comfortable. They have space for 6 with three bunk beds. Beds were made with extra blankets, a heater was provided, and two power points were available. The toilet/shower block was clean and usable with hot water and toilet paper. Towels are not provided, so be sure to bring your own, as we did (though we didn't actually take a shower).
We went on a couple of walks in the area (one of which included lots of sculptures made from old trees) and were able to disconnect for a short time. I had also booked to include my partner and her son, who, in the end, were unable to make it. Natalia informed me that if they wanted to come in the future, we could come to an arrangement that meant this booking was not wholly lost, which was a kind gesture. The wet weather made the campsite and the surrounding area very waterlogged and muddy. Of course, this is not the property's fault, but perhaps more could be done to ensure it doesn't get quite so waterlogged. Potential improvements include better drainage for the site or some gravel pathways.
I was informed I could drive directly to the cabin to help with luggage, which was OK on the day of arrival. However, on the day of leaving, this meant that I left muddy tire tracks across the site. I should have foreseen this, so apologies to Natalia and the staff for making the site worse than it was! Do remember to take Wellingtons or walking boots!
