- Pearson (10/5): Fantastic stay - Fantastic location, bars, restaurants, bakeries and shops all around. The accommodation was kitted out with everything you could need and exceptionally clean and tidy. Nice touch having some milk, waters and plenty of hot drink options in the cupboard. Also plenty of bathroom products, shampoos ect. There was nothing we didn't like
- Janet (8/5): -
- Maria (8/5): Lovely stay for an overnight in the area. - Conveniently located for visiting Bombay Sapphire Distillery and lovely pubs on doorstep. Perfect for the three of us staying and host was lovely and accommodating too. No dislikes.
- Baudouin (8/5): -
- Magdalena (9/5): Excellent - The location was ideal. The apartment was clean and modern.
- Anthony (10/5): Couldn’t fault this accommodation, everything you needed was provided for. - Spotlessly clean, large comfortable bed and bed linen, really good bathroom and shower, tea and coffee provided. Tastefully decorated. A few steps across the courtyard into a nice old pub. Nothing
- Vicki (10/5): Lovely and cosy. - Clean and comfortable! It’s modern, has been thoughtfully decorated and provides everything you need Perfect nights stay here. Thank you ☺️ Nothing.
- Chris (10/5): -
- emily (7/5): Good for an overnight stay - The property was well furnished and stocked. I think the name barn felt a little misleading, little privacy as couldn't open the curtains without people in the pub garden seeing straight in.
The bin hadn't been emptied.
- Maxine (8/5): -
- Lauren (9/5): Excellent stay - I was so impressed with the attention to detail, they really thought of everything to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
The rooms were immaculate! The wall to the next door room was a bit thin and therefore sound travelled but it didn't affect us.
- Russell (5/5): - Modern nicely styled apartment. Bed was comfortable Was not cosy at all. Sofa was uncomfortable. You could hear everything from next door.
Practical but not comfortable
- Jenny (7/5): The most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in (we travel frequently) - The most comfortable bed!!!! Caroline was very friendly and immediately came to help out with a cold apartment. My own fault I didn’t realise it was on the pub car park and that made me feel slightly uneasy if I’m honest in terms of security. (Woman alone with a small child) people in the gardens could see me going in and out. Some noise from pub and people walking past bedroom window. (The location was my own fault as I didn’t really look into it) Despite Caroline coming straight away to help with the heating it was so cold initially and without the electric heater it still didn’t feel that warm (especially bedroom)
- Aaron (10/5): Perfectly clean, wonderful amenities and a pleasant stay! - Cupboards were full of all the utensils you would need... The proximity to somewhere you can eat and drink was fantastic, with the Red Lion pub less than 50ft away... the amenities were perfect. Everything was clean, tidy and simple. It was great. Also, regarding the parking, the pub were perfectly fine allowing a vehicle to use their space if you were purchasing at least a couple of drinks. Overall, it was a wonderful stay! In line with some of the other reviews, the pub traffic can be busy and patrons noisy, but that is no fault of the property owner. It all dies off at 11:30pm. Just something to be aware of.
- Carla (10/5): Amazing stay. 100% will be a returning here. Everything was perfect. Highly recommend staying here. - Room was perfect. Felt very homely. Caroline was very helpful. Location was great everyone was very friendly in the red lion pub near the apartment. Great stop with lovely restraunts. I can't wait to return to here again. Was so clean and facilities in the flat was great everything you needed. Bed was so comfy slept like a baby. Everything was just great. Had a great stay! Good value for money. Haven't a bad word to say about it. Even though it's very close to the pub I thought it might be noisey but I heard nothing.
- Bronia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wendy (9/5): The property was clean, comfortable with everything you could ask for and more!! -
- Andrew (8/5): Convenient location for Bombay Sapphire - Location good for Bombay Sapphire visit, bus stop nearby. Centrally located in village with amenities on your doorstep. Well decorated, clean, great shower. Owner very friendly and helpful. Location literally in pub car park not ideal, quite noisy. Lounge area not particularly comfortable, bed quite hard. Also gin bottle provided on optic was empty!
- Paul (10/5): Superb - Lovely property, clean tidy and comfortable.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good -
- Nalita (9/5): Amazing property, shame about the parking situation - Lovely flat, clean & comfy Parking. Took half an hour to find parking. Very frustrating. When we eventually got to the accom we asked if we could have parked in the pub parking as it’s right there& the pub staff said as long as we bought a drink. Wish we had known that.
- Lisa (10/5): Thank you a beautiful stay with excellent accommodation. - Excellent stay with a great host! The neighbours were very loud from 5am! Couldn't really help this!
- Tracey (9/5): Superb -
- Kenneth (9/5): Nice comfortable apartment - Good location for our venue clean comfortable apartment with all the facilities you needed.
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional - A really nice little apartment with everything you need. We didn’t have any issues with on street parking and managed to park right outside. The apartment is inside the pub carpark, we couldn’t find it at first but called the host and realised then that we was right outside just needed to go into the actual carpark.
The bed was lovely and comfortable, I actually got the name of the quilt from the label so I can purchase it myself it was so nice!! It was an enjoyable stay for a family wedding and would definitely book again.
We arrived much later than expected so decided to get a take away, the delivery charges was expensive so we took a little walk up the road and there is a few places and we enjoyed the village chip shop, which was fairly priced.
- Philip (10/5): Great stay , will definately stay again - Very clean, modern and all facility’s were great No parking really , fortunately we drank a few times at the red lion and they allowed us to park there
- Libby (8/5): Lovely and cosy apartment - Spotlessly clean, had everything we needed, lovely village location, very quiet despite being next to the pub Apartment a little cold (it was 0 degrees outside) but host kindly left a heater for us to use
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Kirsty (9/5): Superb -
- Phil (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Patrick (8/5): Very good -
- Deborah (9/5): Superb - Caroline was a very helpful and friendly host. The barn was beautiful with good amenities and a very comfy bed. We found it quite hard to make it feel warm inside on a cold and wet November weekend.
- Tom (8/5): Great accommodation and location. Additional payment let it down - Very well presented. Good facilities, very clean and tidy and great location. We had to pay extra money on arrival as the priced advertise on booking.com was incorrect. We booked and paid in advance and then had to pay an additional fee on arrival.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- Linda (10/5): Cosy, clean, good facilities. - Very cosy and nicely furnished.
- Karen (10/5): Such a lovely surprise - Perfect location for Bombay Sapphire tour, though we also enjoyed the Red Bull pub for a good dinner and a walk around Overton was beautiful.
- Amanda (8/5): Would recommend to some of my friends that wouldn’t mind its location and I myself would book again . - The accommodation had everything you could possibly need . The noise from the pub didn’t go on later but couldn’t have windows open while watching the tv .
50th birthday party in pub
- Roz (9/5): Great overnight stay for visiting distillery - Tastefully decorated, very comfortable bed with good quality bedding, pillows and mattress. Lovely extra drinks and nibbles in the kitchen, very welcoming. Pretty flowers outside Well located to walk or get bus to Bombay Sapphire Distillery. Entrance is in pub carpark so not very private and some noise from people in pub garden, and vehicles. Onstreet parking hard to find close by.
- Katherine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (9/5): Excellent stay great location especially for visiting Bombay Sapphire distillery - Very comfortable apartment would highly recommend. The little touches of tea/coffee nibbles and Bombay Sapphire Gin :) were really appreciated. The bathroom was a little cold, mainly because I couldn't find the heated towel rail switch.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Lovely host that went above and beyond, great location and comfy and clean accomodation. Highly rec! - Lovely host, I requested a little “happy birthday” note to be left and Caroline had bought and hung a happy birthday garland instead! Fabulous location right off the Main Street, perfect for visiting the Bombay Sapphire distillery. There was even a little bit of Bombay and tonic in the airbnb for us. Thanks Caroline! Bed was comfy and place spotless. N/A
- Chantelle (10/5): Brilliant! Perfect facilities, ideal if you're visiting the distillery, it's within walking distance - Perfect location to visit the distillery. Great shower, comfy bed. Lovely little extras like gin, tonic, milk, and snacks. Perfect for our requirements.
Pub serves fab food. Perhaps a fan available as it was quite warm, we did have the windows open until it got dark, but didn't want to attract bugs!
- Chris (9/5): Great accommodation. Would definitely use again. - Fab flat that had good facilities. No parking. Necessary to park in a street several minutes from the accommodation. A slightly higher charge to allow parking in the pub car park would be very helpful.
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally clean, every small detail in place and an extremely comfortable bed with luxurious cotton bedding and my absolute favourite, feather pillows and duvets. Wonderful!
- Hilary (9/5): Superb -
- Munro (8/5): Very good - Location good next to the pub Bedding for the sofa bed
- Thuy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ian (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (9/5): Stayed over to break up journey to Wales and to visit nearby National Trust property. Lots of lovely pubs in Overton. - Very clean and had lots of nice touches like the Bombay Sapphire and jar of biscuits. Very comfy bed. Nothing wrong with it.
- Arturas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cathy (8/5): If you are ok with the close proximity of the pub, this is a great place to stay, especially if you are doing the Distil - The inside of the property was well laid out. Lovely bathroom with a good walk-in shower and nice complimentary toiletries. The bed was comfortable (on the hard side but that suited us). There is a sofa and a small table and chairs in the lounge area which we used for playing games. The kitchen is very well equipped and the bottle of Bombay Sapphire is a lovely touch. There was also two bottles of water, two cans of tonic and a bottle of milk in the fridge which we appreciated. The property is well looked after with hanging baskets and planters outside and some attractive fake plants inside. Location wise, the village of Overton was very nice and it’s very close to the distillery if you are there for a tour. The accommodation is very close to the pub (photo shows view from the front door) and is actually situated within the pub car park. This isn’t necessarily a problem but it would be nice to know this in advance. On the Friday evening there was a band playing and they may as well have been in our accommodation with us it was so loud! The parking is also odd. We spoke to the (very nice) publicans who allowed us to park in the car park as we did have a couple of meals and drinks in there. Otherwise you have to park in the road which was very busy all the time we were there.
My other comments are minor. Firstly, if you are going to advertise that you provide games and puzzles, they need to be there. Not an issue for us as we took our own. Secondly, the accommodation has a bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin available along with cans of tonic in the fridge. A great touch particularly as we were there to do the Bombay Sapphire Distillery tour. However the fridge had no ice compartment and a gin is not a gin without ice!
- Andy (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the property was super and the area was just natural beauty highly recommend this to anyone who is staying in the area
- Richard (9/5): Excellent: the perfect place for engaging walks in splendid countryside. - The location and character of the accommodation were both excellent. The rooms were tastefully and effectively designed and prepared to give a fine welcome. The local pub was friendly and informal, giving a great place to enjoy the sun and a beer. In all respects the accommodation lived up to one's hopes. There were no problems encountered. As noted, the fittings were of a design and standard to make one feel rapidly welcome.
- Dunn (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome no faults will hopefully stay again
- Lauren (9/5): Perfect for Bombay Sapphire distillery - Great apartment in convenient location. Perfect for an overnight stay for 3 friends. Sofa bed made up on arrival. Well-equipped kitchen. Host was very kind and helpful. Some noise from the apartment next door which was unavoidable but did not disturb us too much.
- Abigail (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, plenty of space. The pub next door is very noisy in the evenings. A little difficult to find the property, better directions could be a help (noting that it’s actually in the pub car park and not on the street).
- Sonia (10/5): Very pleasant - comfortable, well-equipped, fresh and clean, lots of thoughtful extras, peaceful - Very pleasant - comfortable, well-equipped, fresh and clean, lots of thoughtful extras, peaceful and convenient spot in a great location
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gemma (9/5): Superb - Spotlessly clean.
Good location.
Great communication and easy no fuss check in and out. Overall it was great.
Couple of minor details such as the front door could have used a blind or curtain as the security light outside kept turning on and off all night.
- Paul (8/5): Very good - Bed was very comfortable. Ideally situated for the Bombay Sapphire distiller tour
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Debbie (9/5): A fab pad - Coffee machine and gin optic. Couldn't figure out how the heating worked.
- Andrew (9/5): Fantastic. Would love to stay again. - Location. Cleanliness. Attention to detail. Couldn’t get the electricity to work for some of the apartment, but that could have been my poor ability to read instructions!!
- Siobhan (10/5): A very comfortable apartment with great facilities in a lovely village. - The Old Barn was very modern and exceptionally clean, very comfortable and had good amenities in the property such as a good coffee machine and nice toiletries. The property is also by a good pub where the locals were friendly.
