Guest Reviews
- Lindsay (9/5): Great place to stay - Great location.
Very well presented and clean.
Comfy bed.
Good amenities.
- Bridgette (10/5): I would definitely recommend this house to stay - The location for us was great as we were traveling to Scotland. Lovely dog walking area. The house was really clean, comfortable and well equipped. Nothing it was great.
- Bridgette (9/5): - Very clean and tidy. Well equipped and comfy. The dog walking area was great to have. There was no recycling available, only general rubbish.
- Victoria (9/5): -
- Andy (10/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): Stayed while on a works trip had everything you need and check is was so easy - The location
- Sue (6/5): Comfy stopover after a long journey - Very well furnished and clean , booked on the day and we’re grateful to find a stopover , good WiFi , dog walking field , parking right outside , if staying longer , lots of storage We couldn’t work TV , and didn’t get much help from owner - there was likely a knack but remote held together with tape . Instructions for location of light switch in kitchen and clearer heating instruction would be welcomed
- Roger (10/5): Lovely everything worked well - Everything lovely clean and convenient for work Nothing
- Dorothy (9/5): Great home from home - Lovely home from home. Comfortable, with everything we needed. Lovely surprise to find a full bath in the bathroom too. Nothing
- Ana (10/5): The caravan was lovely and clean a credit to the owners and the site was lovely and quiet and well kept - Everything Nothing
- William (10/5): - Very warm and cozy. Tight parking if using a van.
- Jodie (10/5): Very well kept, lovely and clean - Lovely and clean everything you need Nothing was all perfect
- Derek (10/5): Highly recommend - Very clean and well equipped
- Ken (10/5): -
- Drew (8/5): Very happy, needed a single night as was travelling for work. Much nicer than using a chain hotel. - Parking is wonderful, lovely and quiet. Had all we needed for an overnight stay before continuing on our journey. Clean and bright. I have a bad back so mattress was a bit soft to support it. Sofa could do with being replaced. Sofa starting to collapse in the middle.
- Taylor-walker (10/5): - Warm clean comfortable Very poor on serving equipment ( no mixing bowls...jugs..) plus no gate code given... had to find someone
- Philip (1/5): Left after 2 days of a 6 day stay - Attention to repairs and issues that should not have been present when guests arrive.
Mould under wardrobe
- John (2/5): There is a difference between pets allowed and pet friendly.. My dogs bed is cleaner...! - First impression.
Was laid out nice to catch the eye, HOWEVER...... Cooker was dirty, lots of grease and remnants of someone elses cooking left in the bottom of the oven, The tea-towel also had dirty marks/food on it..
There were stains on the lounge carpet, stains on bedroom carpets and the beds were clearly unchanged..
the previous visitor had commented about dog hair in the bed, those dog hairs were still there so clearly the beds had not been changed, the smell of the bedding also showed that these were not recently laundered..
on top of this there was a piece of wall trim missing in the bedroom where there are nails sticking out.. and ladies sanitary product left in a bag in the bedroom locker..
When I read the house rules it stated that dogs were welcome but not allowed on the furniture or beds, I have to admit i chuckled as my dogs bed is cleaner that the beds we were expected to sleep in, and being a cocker poo that doesn't shed her bed is actually cleaner.!!
The only reason we didn't just turn around and drive away was that storm Amy made it too dangerous to do so...
Definitely would not stay here again.!!

- Graham (8/5): Found property easy enough nice and clean ideal for a family but not 3 adults - We did not have the code for the main gates and had to wait until someone came out keys to home very easy Need to give gate code before you arrive
- Sally (7/5): Comfortable for a stop over - Good location, clean and comfortable They could have tested the gas before we had arrived as there was no heating or hot water due to no gas. The owner did come out to resolve but would have been nice to have had the heating on before arrival
- martin (10/5): -
- Rebecca (8/5): - Lovely location Bath wasnt draining so couldn't give my daughter a shower as the water was too hot that was backed up in the bath
- Christine (10/5): -

- Claire (9/5): Perfect - Clean well looked after on a lovely holiday park Nothing
- Mark (8/5): Ok for an overnight stay if you are working or travelling - Very short on oven cooking dishes we can't all pay to eat out. Nothing to use in the microwave to warm beans , tomatoes etc only the dishes you ate from.
- Susan (8/5): -
- Peter (9/5): Very pleased with our accommodation, we will be staying on the way back home - Excellent stop over on the way to Scotland Shower hose leaked by shower head ( but had great shower) kettle leaked/ dripped
- Becky (10/5): -
- Roger (8/5): Except for the oven, everything else was ok. - We didn’t eat the breakfast We used the oven and it filled the cabin with smoke, because it needs cleaning. And it set the smoke alarm off.
- Wendy (10/5): Perfect peaceful relaxing - Everything was just perfect for a relaxing break There was nothing not to like
- Ian (7/5): - Clean, comfortable, and convenient for Carlisle and Gretna The second bedroom twin beds were 6 inches apart. One of our sons rolled over while asleep and smacked the other with a flailing arm
- Diann (8/5): Lovely Spot, nicely decorated - Quiet, comfortable spacious living area. Very tight skinny doorways. Don’t like climbing in and out of bathtubs to have a shower
- Mullaney (10/5): - Good location quite Nothing

- Tinysue18 (9/5): Superb - Loved the forestbrook site. It was clean, people were friendly who were staying and it was about a 10 min drive to Carlisle. REALLY liked the shower! Hot and refreshing!
The owners were supportive in managing check in times, and deliveries of food parcels - communication was fast and accurate too.. The single beds were a little small for adults, but overall, the property met our needs perfectly!
- Rob (10/5): Fabulous and convenient for gretna green visits - The shower was very good also there was a bath although we didn't use it. Very clean and furnished well The only thing we didn't book for a longer time

- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -

- Helen (5/5): Not great - Location was good for us as we had an event on near by .The caravan was modern , bright and tidy on arrival .. Unfortunately I had to wash plates , knives folks etc before use as they were not clean .Bits of food dried on plates and lip marks on cups and glasses. The two baking trays are well past use and not fit for purpose..burnt black ! I tried to wash them , again before use, but only got previous persons grease off . The cooker took 1 hour to cook oven chips , so we gave up and ordered takeaway...The beds were so uncomfortable, I've suffered backache since , worn bedding and a lumpy pillow ..worse two nights sleep ive had on a break ..we came home a day early due to poor sleep and backache..
There is a rule book , remove shoes, do not eat or drink in bedrooms, do not move furniture, wash dry and put all dishes away , keep this area clean and tidy ! Just some from the house rules that meet you on arrival !! It mentions the cleaner has little time to clean between caravans , however as a guest I don't expect to clean dishes on arrival or clean crumbs from the fridge or wipe away many many cobwebs..but I did , so maybe the owner and cleaner need a chat !
Finally, the smell of sewerage surrounded the caravan all weekend, from under the caravan...not pleasant..!
There is no recycling at the site.
If you are late leaving ie after 10.am check out , you will be charged! It is heavily mentioned in the rule book !
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional - The Lodge was cleaned to A very high standard on arrival.
Loved the field to walk the dog in.
Everyone we met on the site was very friendly NA
- Larmour (10/5): John and June - Spotless. With everything you could possibly need. Lovely quiet location. With lots of places to visit in the surrounding area No faults at all
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean, tidy, had everything we needed for our long weekend away and was perfect as a base to get out and about each day
- Janice (8/5): Very good - Very clean. Everything needed for your stay. Comfortable. Relaxing and quiet. Kettle could do with descaling.
- Georgia (8/5): Clean, well equipped cottage. We were visiting the area for a wedding and this was the perfect base. - Easy instructions to follow to access the property
- Laura (8/5): Lovely place to stay - Lovely caravan very clean …lovely site it’s on The bed wasn’t great however we only stayed one night. However it was freezing, no heating was on arrived at 9.40pm and had to wait a while till heating warmed up. Went to bed in our clothes as was so cold. Took a couple of hours to warm up.
- Anne (10/5): Thank you! - What a lovely and tidy place to stay

- Marlene (9/5): Would definitely book again - Lovely caravan nice and clean and price was great
- Charlotte (10/5): Brilliant - Amazing. Had all facilities and things you’d need… washing up liquid, towels, body wash, hairdryer etc. the fence around the edge has a gate so you don’t have to worry about your dog running off. All hassle free. Very clear instructions. Would definitely return. I liked everything, didn’t dislike anything.
- Emma (9/5): Lovely stay - Very very clean. Lovely little place. I wouldn't want more than 2 adults in the space as the 2nd bedroom is very small. Perfect for little ones though. Only trouble I had was when I plugged in my hair straightener, the lights started flickering, couldn't cope with the power use, which it made very difficult.
- Hinde (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jodie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carla (10/5): WAS PERFECT FOR OUR NEEDS. VERY COMFORTABLE AND HOMELY. THANK YOU SO MUCH -
- Diane (8/5): Lovely quiet location between Carlisle/Gretna for an overnight stay travelling North. - Lovely quiet location between Carlisle/Gretna for an overnight stay travelling North. Only thing missing was a hoover, out of courtesy even after only 1 night, I prefer to hoover before we leave when travelling with our dog.
- Simon (9/5): Great for an overnight stay with a dog - Much more relaxing than a hotel - Perfect for an overnight stay. Had everything you needed - Simple to access, good value for a group, and great for the dog with a dedicated walking area on site. Twin bedroom was compact but should be expected in a caravan, and perfectly adequate for a one night stay.
- Simon (9/5): Superb -
- Sharon (10/5): Excellent and thank you - It was very clean and homely and a great stop off to Scotland There was nothing I didn’t like about the property. It had everything you needed
- Barry (9/5): Superb -
- Jose (10/5): Recommended. - Never had tried that sort of place before and was very pleasantly surprised.
- Laura (8/5): Great place! - Clean and well decorated A high chair would have been ideal
- Linsey (8/5): Great place to stay - Very comfortable and well equipped
Great place for a stopover The internet is virtually unusable making watching tv very difficult
- Caroline (8/5): One night - Lovely clean modern caravan/lodge. Only a third of a toilet roll left in the bathroom and beds not the comfiest but what you would expect in a caravan
- Catriona (7/5): Good - Lovely clean property not so tiny, plenty space for a family of four. Quiet location and friendly staff on site. Dog friendly and easy to check in and out. Teenager was really uncomfortable in the single bed.
- Arulanandham (10/5): Our stay was exceptional - We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this property! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the immaculate condition of the place. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered and meticulously maintained, creating a truly inviting and comfortable atmosphere.
The accommodation itself is charming and beautifully decorated, with all the amenities you could possibly need for a relaxing stay. The rooms were spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the common areas were perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring.
The location is fantastic, providing easy access to nearby stores like ASDA, Morrisons while still offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations in every way. Whether you're looking for a getaway, a family vacation, or just a quiet escape, this property is definitely worth a visit. We can't wait to come back and experience this lovely place.
