Guest Reviews
- Ardhanariswara (7/5): A great location! - Location was central and very convenient to get to the lake by walk. It was clean and everything including stores, pubs were easily accessible.. Parking at the property was not ideal however a free parking with the permit that was provided was good
The kitchen was cramped and the on-suite in the first floor was very cramped
A bit noisy if windows were open as it was a very hot day
- Ian (10/5): - Excellent accommodation
Bang in the centre
Lovely town
Fantastic cottage (Owd Peg)
Good that a Permit came with the cottage to park your car for free. Sorry but stairs , but for 3 days recommend the Owd Peg.
- Laura (10/5): - Absolutely everything! Gorgeous property in the best location. We will be back soon. Nothing

- Hilary (10/5): Great weekend in a perfect location - Location, cleanliness of the cottage and great communication from Laik Nothing everything we wanted was there
- Sam (8/5): Great location, great for a few friends for a few days, enjoy - Location on town is fantastic , minutes from all the pubs ,restaurants and Pier. Need to get a fire going in loving room to get really cosy ,but we didn't bother as out a lot.
- Nicola (8/5): Would return - Great location Did get a bit cold
- Siobhan (10/5): Owd Peg's provided an excellent home from home for a wonderful short break in the Lake District. - This traditional self-catering well equipped 3 double bedroomed (2 with ensuite and additional house bathroom) cottage didn't disappoint. Owd Peg's is centrally located in Bowness on Windermere close to restaurants, cafes, pubs, shops, great walks and local attractions, with a parking permit for a car park very close by. Owd Peg's is well-maintained has comfortable furniture and beds with quality bedding. A great place to base for a visit to Windermere. Owd Peg's is spread over three floors with steep steps which may be a challenge for anyone with any balance or mobility challenges.
- tina (9/5): Localtion location location - Lovely 3 storey house right in the centre of Bowness. Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful decor; could not be more central. So nice to be able to nip out for a quick coffee in town Stairs a bit steep but manageable; would still stay here again despite this
- Claire (8/5): Overall it’s a lovely cottage in a fantastic location which suited our needs very well. - Bedrooms were well equipped, clean and fresh. Three bathrooms was appreciated too. The choice of books and provision of toys for children are nice touches. The kitchen-diner-lounge felt a little bit tired and worn. Not as fresh feeling as the bedrooms. The marble/tiled floor in the kitchen-diner felt cold and not very inviting.
- Hooi Lam (8/5): Great location, cozy and well-equipped. - Great location, cozy and well-equipped.
- Charitee (9/5): Wonderful, charming cottage. Perfect location! - Gorgeous little property with everything you need. We had a wonderful stay. And what a location! Absolutely perfect! A fan would have made it easier to sleep on a couple of very warm nights after really hot days.
- Janice (9/5): Excellent stay and we would book the cottage again! - Good location with easy access to lots of restaurants, attractions and lakeside activities. We self-catered and the cottage had ample kitchen equipment. It was very clean, comfortably furnished with nice bed !when and fluffy towels. Provided car parking permit to car part a 5 minute walk away which could be used in a number of car parks in the area.excellent No outside space but we knew this when booking. Very steep stsirs.
- Karen (8/5): Amazing location, good value for money , comfy beds , would book again . - Location excellent, we ate at the little coffee shop for breakfast literally on the same road as the cottage
- Andrew (8/5): Nice stay in great location. - Great location in centre of Bowness. Quaint cottage, very clean and good state of decoration. Stairs were steep, unsuitable for a young family or people with mobility difficulties. everything was quite cramped, this a necessary evil due to the property type. Never felt fully in command of the facilities, where things were, how you did things. This may have been partly due to us not seeking out the support documentation.
- Ellena (7/5): Sadly we were disappointed but Laik provided excellent support - The location was fantastic and the wood burner made it cosy. The customer service team at Laik was quick to try to alleviate our concerns and also extremely helpful Aspects of the property was not very clean and as such I had to spend time cleaning myself. There was very limited hot water in the one (downstairs) bathroom - the only one with a bath which I needed to use to bath my baby - and the bathroom itself was absolutely freezing even when the heating was on… Unfortunately the beds were also very uncomfortable and heating was only on intermittently so each time we came back it was very cold. I feel that the kitchen facilities would have been much too small for any more than 3-4 people even though the property is supposed to accommodate 6 people.
- Anthony (9/5): A perfect birthday wish family made better by beautiful Lake District and cosy, warm and comfortable cottage. - Location and cosy charm All good
- Dave (8/5): Very good -
- Emma (9/5): Perfect cosy cottage for our family stay - Fab location with everything we needed for a relaxing stay and great base for enjoying Bowness and local towns. A cosy cottage right in the heart of Bowness so ideal location for us. Lots of character and lovely decor. Thank you
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rena (10/5): It was such a lovely stylish place and has three bathroom!! -
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Diane (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage,in a great location .Well equip kitchen with everything we needed.Comfortable beds and spotlessy clean. Nothing not to like
- Gillian (8/5): We loved it and would consider staying again, the lakes are our new favourite place. - It was very central to all shops & restaurants, it was a good size and the rooms were comfortable. Parking was 5 minutes away and it was a bonus having a parking permit included. We were a 5/10 minute walk to the lake and it’s stunning there. It would’ve been nice to have a small welcome pack, even just coffee, tea, sugar and milk and maybe a biscuit. Although the property was clean there were areas in the kitchen which were a bit sticky ie. the cupboard handles. I loved the quirkiness of the property but those with mobility issues, or older visitors might have a problems with the stairs. The lack of channels on the TV, I can never understand not being able to get the same channels as you would at home (on free tv)
- Paul (10/5): Perfect cottage in the most perfect location - Booked this lovely cottage to celebrate a family birthday, 5 adults and a 5 year old and so glad we did. Its a beautiful, clean and very comfortable cottage. The location is unbelievable. Literally a few yards from the main Hub of Bowness yet very quiet at night (a little noise from bars until midnight but after that all quiet and that was sleeping with windows open) Having a free car parking pass for a nearby car park was also a fantastic asset as Bowness can be extremely busy. The cottage was well furnished with everything we needed and will be our go to place for any future visits to the area. Loved it!
