Guest Reviews
- Hannah (9/5): Perfect couples’ retreat - We had a fabulous short break at The Old Barn. The thought, care and attention to detail which had gone into creating such beautifully furnished and immaculate accomodation was clear to see. We loved sitting out on the extensive balcony, soaking up the relaxing Devonshire countryside view and watching the sheep graze in the field behind.
Would highly recommend for a couples’ retreat.
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional stay in Devon countryside - Everything! From the location to the accommodation we were very happy. Nothing
- Emma (10/5): The perfect getaway from every day life to recharge your batteries - In a very tranquil location with wildlife visible from the accomodation (sheep, rabbits). Beautifully decorated with everything you need. Nothing that i didn’t like
- Lesley (8/5): -
- Jacqui (10/5): - Calm, tranquil surroundings. Perfect for a quiet getaway for two.
- Barrington (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Stunning Property - Immaculate and beautifully decorated property filled with everything you would need for your stay. Hosts were very communicative and welcoming with great recommendations about the local area. Although on the same land as the property owners, the barn is incredibly private and perfect for a couples getaway.
- Santokh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Ultra clean, modern and comfortable barn conversion stay. - Exceptionally clean and comfortable. The property is modern but traditional and has everything you need for a short or longer stay. We were very pleased with the communication and information provided. Whilst the barn is 15mins from the nearest shops, we were given enough information before arriving to ensure we had everything we needed upon arrival. Thank you very much.
- Barclay (9/5): A great relaxing break. - Beautiful surroundings. Very luxurious property with all mod cons and very comfortable. Dogs were welcome. Genuinely struggling to answer this.
- Rymantas (8/5): It’s ok could be better if we have more privacy I guess we won’t be coming back - It’s ok All ok but it’s no privacy ,
- Sharon (10/5): Relaxing couples break to restore our souls, enjoy the rural countryside and relax - The barn was beautifully renovated with lots of small details which made it very welcoming. Everything was perfect
- Tracy (10/5): Magnificent place, a real treat. - Just Perfect. Everything has been thought about, the barn is exceptional. It has the WOW factor. Absolutely nothing.
- Jennie (10/5): Wonderful - Really wonderful , comfortable cottage . Amazing views and lovely hosts Leaving :)
- Sharon (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful conversion in lovely secluded location. Very clean. Cosy. Nothing
- Rebecca (10/5): Perfect rural luxury, lovely views or sheep and chickens and super responsive hosts. - We loved this converted barn. It was hard to believe the transformation. Everything was really high spec and super comfortable. Our hosts were friendly and helpful but left us to ourselves (and the sheep)! It has a beautiful decked area for breakfast and it really was so well equipped. Gorgeous huge bath and underfloor heating was all luxury! We loved everything.
- Claire (9/5): A Delight - The barn felt luxurious and well equipped to a high specification. Loved the balcony decking area which was perfect for relaxing in the evening whilst watching the sheep, chickens and rabbits. Shower was great, powerful and plenty of hot water. The barn was easily accessible, just a few minutes of country lanes once you have left the A30. Best to take groceries/get them delivered, but supermarkets within approximately 15 mins drive so not a disaster if you forget something! Just a suggestion really - the barn allows dogs (not on furniture or in bedroom, which is totally fine) but perhaps provide a dog bed or suggest guests bring a dog basket with them as all hard flooring.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Everything, this is probably the most perfect property at which we have stayed.
Spotlessly clean
High spec fixtures and fittings
Most comfortable bed ever
Complete peace & quiet Northing
- Ken (10/5): Had a wonderful stay would highly recommend. - Very clean and beautiful inside with fabulous attention to detail.
- Hannah (10/5): Perfect staycation! - The hosts were lovely and very welcoming! We really enjoyed our stay with stunning views to wake up to. The place was immaculate and was perfect for myself, boyfriend and dog. Nothing it was perfect!
- Stephen (10/5): A wonderfully relaxing break, in a fantastic accommodation and location - we will definitely be back! - Exceptionally clean and well kept, with every detail thought about. The setting and views from the decking were amazing and it is perfect for a quiet, tranquil getaway.
Our hosts were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble, which made our stay equally special as well Nothing it was perfect for us.
- Lisa (10/5): Stunning, perfectly relaxing stay in a top spec property. Just what was needed 🖼️ - Brand new, luxury barn. The owners have clearly got an eye for detail. The place was immaculate with quality fittings and fixtures. It felt like no expense was spared to ensure a quality stay. Even down to the curved finishes on the walls instead of cornered edges! It is extremely peaceful. The balcony and loungers are a wonderful touch, taking in the views and farm animals. The bed was super comfy, spacious and again with quality bedding and a very peaceful room with sky light above the bed. The bath was a real treat. The barn was immaculately clean, not even a single cobweb (hurrah!).
The use of a dog field was excellent so we could let her have a run around and quick for an early morning stop. These are not criticisms as the place is amazing. Just general feedback. The shower / boiler is extremely loud if you’re in the bedroom when it’s being used (so a partner showering early would definitely wake you up!)
We have a small dog (Plummer terrier) and she could get through the 5 bar fences, just to be aware rather than any criticism, so we just adjusted her freedom in the field. The same with the balcony, there’s no gate so she could get down, thankfully we had a long line with us so she wasn’t able to go beyond the top step.
- Anna (10/5): Definitely not and 'Old Barn' immaculate and brand new! - Such a beautiful setting for a relaxing break, the Old Barn is set in lovely countryside with amazing views.
Friendly welcome from hosts, super quick response on message. Lovely to meet Georgina and David along with Lab Misty & Casper the cat.
Parking on site, private entrance, peaceful and quiet. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. Clean and tidy.
Plenty of local walks
Overall a really nice relaxing place to stay.
Would definitely be staying again.
Thank you
- Helma (10/5): Great stay in a beautiful place! - It was a great honor to be the first guests in the Old Barn! The house is very beautiful and has a nice design. It is an old barn, completely renovated by the hosts themselves. The result is stunning, it turned out so beautiful. Everything you could possibly need is available. The shower is super and the large bed sleeps very well. The furniture has been chosen with care and fits well in the house. A nice terrace, adjacent to the meadow with sheep, makes it complete. We have had an excellent time, the most beautiful stay during our holiday. Georgina and David are very helpful and friendly hosts, communication was smooth and quick. Georgina also makes honey and bread herself, very tasty! A well deserved 10 from us!!! Nothing!
