- Ms (10/5): Cosy, comfy, a very short walk from Wakehurst, in beautiful, peaceful surroundings. - We were visiting Wakehurst Gardens for the Christmas lights, it was perfect as a short walk away, but still very private. The cottage is very nicely set out and suited us very well for a couple of nights. It would be even better in summer to enjoy the outdoor space.
Host was extremely welcoming and thoughtful. We'll definitely stay here again.
- Christine (9/5): Delightful accomodation in the High Weald of West Sussex - Really liked being in a cottage on the Wakehurst Estate, being a member of both Kew and the NT, it gave me a great sense of connection. Lovely sheltered garden in which we enjoyed our lunches...garden dining table and chairs...even in October. Well furnished and appointed accomodation...plenty of hot water...good lighting...cosy bed....super clean. The stove top turned out to be one hot plate....tricky for for cooking the 3 veg for an evening meal. There is an oven...so with a few adjustments we did manage to put together nourishing, balanced evening meals.
No table for dining but a bar and 2 stools...which actually were more comfortable than expected and at the right height. We did manage to sit happily at the bar to eat.
On the whole one feels very short of kitchen/eating/ washing up space....but we managed and were.not put off. This is a good place.
- Wolfgang (10/5): Family connection, feeled very welcome - Perfect, super nice hosts Nothing
- Cheryl (9/5): Superb - It was quiet and peaceful and in a beautiful setting right in the middle of Wakehurst Gardens. Our hostess left us a number of complimentary items and it was great to be in a place that supplied us with tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
Lovely bathroom with nice large shower.
- Sophie (10/5): Lovely peaceful stay - Lovely tranquil location. Perfect property for a short stay. Hosts go out of their way to accommodate. Would highly recommend. Nothing
- Valerie (10/5): A delightful apartment set in beautiful, tranquil grounds with an attentive first class host. - The host lives on site and is dedicated to ensuring that her guests are happy and comfortable and have everything they need for their stay. There is nothing to dislike
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly hosts and quiet scenic location.
- Stuart (8/5): Very good -
- Steven (10/5): Terrific! - Penny and David were terrific hosts.
- Tracy (9/5): Superb - Hosts were amazing.
Snacks & breakfast food provided was fabulous. Minor issue but would recommend investing in a bigger bed
- Alison (10/5): Fantastic self contained accommodation in beautiful countryside - This is a really lovely self contained annexe in the garden of the main cottage. It’s very quiet and rural, close to some beautiful countryside. The welcome pack was brilliant, which we used for breakfast and snacks throughout out stay. The owners were extremely helpful and responsive with any queries. Nothing, it was all fantastic!
- Athena (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elisabeth (10/5): I really enjoyed my stay and the property was perfect for my requirements. - It was a beautiful location. The property overlooked a very pretty garden and was next door to the gorgeous National Trust property, Wakehurst Place. It was also in an extremely peaceful location. Penny and Dave were first class hosts and went out of their way to ensure I felt welcome and had everything I needed. Nothing
- Douglas (7/5): Good -
- Paul (9/5): We had a great stay, and would recommend the lodge for a short stay. - We thought the breakfast was good. Quality muesli, bread, butter and tea. The location was excellent very close to the places we visited and the lodge was quiet peaceful and very clean. The 2 velux windows above bed, need blinds. Nice to see the stars at night, but when it gets light at 5 in the morning, it’s far too bright.
- Barbara (10/5): the room is very stylishly set up and furnished, and as a base for visiting the major gardens of Sussex could not have b - the location (proximity to Wakehurst garden) the privacy, very well fitted out room with generously laid on extras, the use of the garden for meals, the charming couple who run it nothing, it’s in a charmed spot
- Chester (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Well located cozy and quiet hut - Hut was cozy and warm (it has underfloor heating). It is right next to Wakehurst botanicals and so very convenient if you're wanting to visit there. Tranquil and peaceful location. Admittedly we were out and about a lot and so didn't speak to the owners much, but when we did they were very friendly and helpful. Nothing :)
- Kawkaedyta (10/5): Exceptional - comfort
