Guest Reviews
- Martin (7/5): Great stay and would recommend... - Great location by the sea front and the busy Leigh Road/Broadway.
The apartment was clean and 1 issue with the cot was solved quickly. The hosts communicated extremely well and were very responsive.
I would recommend it as a base to go and explore Leigh on Sea and the surrounding areas.
The toy cupboard was a lovely bonus for our one year old. No information leaflet in the property so we were left to discover things for ourselves (cooker oven switch/backdoor keys)
Kitchen cupboards were quite sparse with cups/wine glasses etc
- marie (10/5): - The flat was wonderful and cosy. Lovely the garden. Very spacious. Close to the broadway and all shops. Would definitely stay again.
- Janet (8/5): wonderful stay , will definitely return to this homely easy stay place, the host was in contact - location was excellent for our needs, great walks along seafront in both directions, wonderful vibe on main high street of leigh, restaurant's, cafe & bars, all local people very friendly, local bus travel very easy, so can leave car parked up. main oven in property not working but was supplied with a air fryer & microwave, also green sofa lost a lot of stuffing for comfort, garden needed a little TLC

- aly (10/5): Super stylish flat in a superb location with privacy and
a great host! - Super stylish flat in a superb location with a great host!
- Joy (8/5): Spacious rooms. Clean and tidy. Good location. Large patio doors to garden. Very pleased. - Close to Leigh Broadway. Reasonably close to Chalkwell rail station
- Rebecca (8/5): -
- Jane (8/5): - Comfortable flat, close to all amenities. No iplayer facility on TV, needs a slip mat in the shower and larger bath towels. Other than that all fine.
- Petal (9/5): Perfect location, a great find - Spacious apartment, a nice find with sunny garden . We liked the table that turned into board games and layout of rooms The bed was too small for us, we like king size beds and the sofas were not comfortable
- Laura (10/5): Perfect for a relaxing weekend away - It was in a perfect location and very well equipped and comfortable The parking outside the front of the property was abit hit and Miss I did spend over half an hour trying to get parked
- Pavel (10/5): -
- Annoushka (7/5): Pleasant, spacious and good location. - The size and location, between the Broadway and the seafront, were great. The garden and outside seating area were particularly lovely. The kitchen was adequately equipped and there was plenty of room to sit and eat as a family, which was nice. The double bed was comfy and the bedroom nicely decorated. One of the sofa beds was not very comfy and my daughter had difficulty sleeping on it, but for a short stay it was fine. The bathroom coming off of the kitchen was not ideal, especially as it was hard to close the door as the catch had broken. It was good having a TV in the bedroom, as well as the lounge, but the remote control was missing, which was a shame.
- ritchie (10/5): - Very nice clean and tidy very comfortable bed . 10/10
- Priscila (10/5): -
- Simone (8/5): Comfy and homely - Location, spacious and well equipped. Lovely touch of Christmas decorations up Both televisions were a bit patchy and buffered a lot
- Christopher Tully (10/5): Beach avenue extra - We liked the extra thought of adding Christmassy things within the apartment Nothing
- Kay (9/5): Overnight stay that was just right. Thank you - It was spacious, clean & in a brilliant location for our purposes, which was an overnight stay as we we're celebrating a family birthday on The Broadway Whilst there was parking in the streets there was no allocated parking for the flat, but we managed to park in a street nearby
- Brian (6/5): Great stop over place for couple with small children. - Good position in town. Flat was clean and tidy. Parking was easy nearby. Excellent bedroom with double bed. Great potential if more attention to detail given. Sofa beds not suitable for large adults. They were neither comfortable, or large enough. Couldn't find remote control for tv in bedroom and didn't look like the advertised photo. Toilet seat needs replacing as poor quality and not affixed properly. Garden needs attention.
- Daniel (8/5): A really nice place for Leigh-on-sea - Great location, spacious Sofa beds were not particularly comfy. The room with the sofa beds had a massive skylight so people woken up early. Blinds in the bedroom let a lot of light in as well so again, woken early
- Chris (9/5): A great location for a short break near Old Leigh. - A spacious apartment in a convenient location, with free on-street parking nearby. Some of the appliances were a bit dated and some of the locks didn’t seem to work.
- Kent (1/5): WHAT STAY ONLY LASTED 3 HOURS INSTEAD OF 5 DAYS - N/A THE BED WAS TOO HIGH SOFAS WERE OLD AND NOT SOFA BEDS
- Sarah (10/5): -
- Sarah (10/5): Great communication with the owner, clean, tidy and very spacious. - We went to a wedding so needed room for five of us and with the sofa beds was more than enough room for us all. The property was clean, cosy and warm. Everything! We were very impressed
- Barry (10/5): - Good facilities and great location Nothing
- Junior (10/5): Perfect - All of it, so lovely It was all perfect
- Mairi (7/5): Needs a few extra touches for an apartment - It was so close to the High Street. There was no essentials such as tea or coffee just some leftovers from other guests it would have been nice if my husband had a coffee sachet or two 😌
- Darren (8/5): -
- Jacqueline (3/5): Such a let down - Location is great. It's near a main road with variety of shops, and is not far from places of interest. We had such high hopes for this property because of the reviews. Sadly, it fell far short of expectations.
Our booking was accepted for 3 adults and 1 child. 3 beds were promised. When we booked, the picture showed 2 good-sized sofa beds and a double bed in the bedroom. On arrival, there was only a small-sized fold back sofa, a 2-seater sofa, and the double bed. There was also not enough bedding for 4 people. Fortunately, we brought some of our own. I contacted the host, who sent an air bed (which my son found very uncomfortable). He also promised to compensate us £100.00 but has not.
The flat was not cleaned properly when we arrived. We found crushed biscuit and rubbish on dining area floor, rubbish on bedroom dresser and in drawers; a random butterfly hair clip in one end table drawer; hair and dust on both end tables and on other bedroom surfaces; grime on the kitchen counter. Areas around the toilet sink and seat were not cleaned thoroughly.
'Free parking on site' is dishonest. Cars can technically park for free along the pavement outside of the apartment, but there is no availability at all because residents along both sides of the street park on that side and hardly move. The other side is double yellow. Parking is permitted at restricted times, but we only found out from a kind neighbour as there is no signage. I had to move the car accordingly, which was stressful, and had to park very far away if I didn't want to move the car.
No remote for the bedroom TV.
Kitchen had bits of leftover food/drink from previous guests, much of which was close to expiring or expired.
The decor has no theme, and a lot of the furniture looked secondhand and very scratched. The bedroom chair is not only old but unusable; the seat is completely sunken. The 2-seater was torn and dirty.
Issues with the front door and bathroom locks were mentioned by other reviewers months ago but were not fixed by our visit.

- Sarahdove87 (9/5): A really lovely place, perfect for a family getaway. - Lovely garden, really good size property. I also really loved the childrens drawing desk, it was a lovely surprise. Was very clean, perfect location in quiet Westcliff-On-Sea and a short taxi ride to Southend. Me and my family really enjoyed it here and I’ll definitely visit again. The oven was difficult to figure out and took a long time to heat up.
- Holly (2/5): Location good, size of flat good however cleanliness very poor and sofa beds uncomfortable - Location was good
Flat was big Cat hair everywhere and my children allergic to cat so had to dose them up with anti histamine medication throughout the stay.
Food crumbs and dust everywhere. My sister and spent the hour or so cleaning the place when we arrived- not happy.
Also not enough bedding for the number of beds provided had to call host to drop off more bedding. One of the sofa beds was so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep in it and had to squeeze into the double bed with my 2 children.
The host was apologetic about the cleanliness and offered to bring cleaners back in however as we had already cleaned everywhere by this point, I didn’t accept the offer.

- susan (10/5): We loved the flat, would book it again. - Lovely presented spacious flat. The area was very nice with a choice of restaurants. Nothing.
- Roger (7/5): -
- Hannah (9/5): Superb -
- Mattocks (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saanj (8/5): Lovely flat for friends/ couples/families in a great location - Lovely flat in a great location, spacious, great kitchen facilities, toys and arts facilities for kids, 2 televisions, lots of seating areas, very comfortable bed, lots of hanging space, lovely outdoor area. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and beach. There is a step up in the bathroom that unfortunately my friend hurt her toe on as it’s easy to forget that it is there. Unable to open windows in bedroom.
- Paul (9/5): Great location for us as our son and family lives nearby. - The apartment is very nicely laid out with a small garden to the rear. Lovely to have the table and chairs to enjoy the sunshine while we were there. Plenty of shops, good cafes and restaurants nearby. Chalkwell railway station about a 10 minute walk downhill. Very convenient location. The addition of a coffee maker would be good especially if staying for long period.
- Ewa (10/5): Exceptional - The locks were a little bit too rusty and we had an issue to open the property
- Diane (8/5): Very good -
- Arigatomrrobato (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - A lovely large apartment on a quiet street close to numerous bars and restaurants and in easy reach of seafront. The key safe was a little stiff but the host provided his phone number and was helpful. The description of the property was 'onsite parking' which was on street parking restricted during the day. The car needed moving before 8 am.
- Valerie (8/5): Great stay for two days accommodating everything we needed.essentials were provided with appliances to use also - The owner was very helpful. Allowed us to have access early.
We were near to the beach but also Broadway where all the amenities are and a well known express shop to get groceries.
The owner had thought of everything so you had every facility you required N/A
- Amelia (10/5): Big comfortable flat with lovely garden - Great location and much bigger than we expected
- Beckie (8/5): I will definitely be back, as was absolutely ideal for the two of us - Excellent location, and very clean throughout,
Hosts where very clear and informative
Double bed was extremely comfortable Only concern is that both the sofa beds where very uncomfortable for an adult, even with the mattress topper
- Arigatomrrobato (10/5): Exceptional - Really lovely apartment, had everything we needed. Great location and nice host Nothing!
- Theobald (9/5): Superb - Very good apartment, clean and everything provided for your stay.Excellent communication with the owner.
Would definitely recommend.
- Gary (10/5): Excellent - Comfortable NA
- Wayne (8/5): Lovely comfy flat just off the main high street. Really handy for our one night stay. -
- Ramcke (8/5): Very good - The location is brilliant with a short walk to the train station, shops, and bars. Parking was difficult on a couple of occasions, and we had to park in a different street. The apartment suited us for what we needed, and the neighbours in upstairs apartments were quiet, although you could hear talking from the room above the bedroom, but nothing disturbing. The apartment was well equipped and comfortable.
- Michael (5/5): "Bits our stay were good and bits of our stay were poor". - Very close to shops , cafes, restaurants and No: 21 Bus Service. Flat was well heated during particularly cold spell. Chalkwell Station and Beach walkable. Trip hazard in toilet/shower area. Extension lead to one microwave was disconnected because it was very warm. Although the dishwasher was serviced by the Host, on further inspection, the filter was found to be still, extremely dirty. Found a nail, next to a chair, protruding from a wall. The washing machine was not used, because there was no drier. Wet washing had to be left over radiators. The garden contained no washing line and needed a lot of TLC. The pots and pans etc required a good clean before they could be used. There were no parking facilities.
- Sandra (9/5): My stay was amazing, beautiful calm, peaceful place but with a friendly vibe. - The location was excellent. The property was so lovely, like home from home. So comfortable.
- Carol (9/5): A perfect place to stay with everything you want in the doorstep - It was a very spacious flat , very comfortable with good facilities . Comfy bed, great kitchen we wish we had stayed longer All great
- Emily (8/5): Great location and great for an overnight stay - Fantastic location close to shops, cafés, the beach, park, and train station.
Easy check in and plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 children. Very comfortable bed and spacious kitchen and living area. Everything was very clean and tidy.
Friendly and helpful host. The larger L shaped sofabed did not seem to be properly attached together.
There is a slight change of floor level in the bathroom with 3 tiles stepped up in succession. All of us stubbed our toes on this, perhaps it could be covered with a protective rubber strip or something?
The sliding bathroom door needs attention as it doesn't lock.
The electrics are in need of modernisation as the sockets are in inconvenient places, with extension leads being put on top of (probably unused) radiators.
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional - Great location close to shops and food outlets.
Walking distance to rail station and beach
Very helpful Owner Nothing could have been better
- Brenda (8/5): Comfortable for our short stay - We struggled with the key box as it was dark and no torch.
Disappointed no toilet roll.
- Sabrina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eric (10/5): Lovely city break in Leigh - Lovely flat, great location in Leigh and close to transport. Fully self contained. Easy to get in and out, nice quiet area. Great communication from host. No issues.
- Alison (8/5): Good value, good location - Great location for Leigh. Lovely large living space. Very helpful host. Good value for money. The kitchen was quite sparse on equipment - eg no wooden spoon, only one of the saucepans had a lid, a very small chopping board etc so if you like cooking you might do well to bring some of your own equipment.
- Lisa (10/5): Great flat, good location and excellent communication from host. - The flat was well equipped, clean and comfortable. Communication from the host was excellent. Perfect location, and on street parking. Would not hesitate to recommend- and will definitely book again next time we are in Southend. There was nothing we didn't like - everything was great!
