Guest Reviews
- Catherine (9/5): Excellent - Location was perfect able to walk everywhere.
Property clean and excellent facilities. Thought it had 2 bathrooms with showers.
- Jessica (10/5): - Stayed for a few nights whilst we had renovations done to our own home. It was a fantastic location and had everything we needed. The bed was surprisingly comfy, I normally opt for firm mattresses, these were soft but absolutely loved them. Plenty room as well, both the rooms and the main bed which was a super king, slept very well. It was quiet and the gardener was friendly. A very short walk into town where we went to grab a quick bite to eat during lunch. Plenty restaurant choices to pick from during the evening. There was a designated space for one car, parking was important to us. The building was easy to find for us since we know the area, so that wasn't a problem for us. I fully enjoyed my time here and didn't want to leave! Wish I had booked one more night haha

- Liz (7/5): It was so disappointing that the cleanliness of the property was so poor, as we would have enjoyed our stay so much more - Excellent location on a quiet cul-de-sac, only a few minutes away on foot from the city centre and with great restaurants nearby (especially Chez Jules). Lovely house, well equipped for a short stay. Very spacious. Comfortable beds and furniture, with thick carpets (see below). Nice touch to have a welcome box of prosecco and mince pies (which we did not open). The main issue was cleanliness in the kitchen. The baking tray, grill pan and rack were filthy under the tin foil and had to be scrubbed before use. This led us to wonder if the hood filters were clean. We took them out and found that they were sticky and full of grease (photos available). The single scourer provided was inadequate after the scrubbing so we had to buy more (and left them there for the next user). The bread bin was full of crumbs and had to be washed. Considering that a cleaning fee was included in the price, this was somewhat galling!
The outside light did not work.
There was conflicting information about bins. One message said that there were separate bins for recycling, etc. (the information was two years out of date!) and the other message said that everything could go in the red bin for private collection, with no need to separate.
It was lovely to have thick carpets throughout but, unfortunately, this meant that the lounge door would not budge and could not be closed, leading to cold draughts. This would not be in an issue in warmer months, I’m sure, but it was extremely cold when we were there.
On the morning of departure, the heating had gone off and there was no hot water.
