Guest Reviews
- Gail (8/5): - Staff and comfort .
- Robyn (8/5): -
- Victoria (10/5): - It felt like coming home. Nothing!
- Heath (10/5): Kenai area family trip. - My family and I stayed at the Kenai Inn for a two-day trip to a high school football game. Take this review with a grain of salt, but after a few days of reflection, here’s my honest impression.
Upon arrival, my very first thought was of the great Eagles song “Hotel California.” Earlier that afternoon, Michelle, the hotel manager, had texted me the access codes for the front door and our room, explaining that this was a virtual check-in and to simply text when we arrived and checked out.
Walking in, the place gave off a charmingly rustic 70s vibe. The quiet, empty lobby and lack of a front desk greeting added to the “Hotel California” atmosphere—no one to check us in, and, as it turned out, no other guests all weekend. Slightly eerie… but also kind of cool.
Our room was on the second floor and featured two queen beds. It was surprisingly spacious and much more modern inside than I expected. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom worked just fine, and the water? Scalding hot perfection!
The only hiccup came later that night—it got pretty warm, and there was no thermostat in sight. After some good old-fashioned “man skills” tinkering, I managed to crack open the window and let in that crisp Kenai air. Problem solved.
Bonus perk: there’s a local coffee hut right outside. Just a fair warning—when I knocked on the window at 7 a.m. to say good morning, I nearly gave the poor barista a heart attack.
All in all, if you’re looking
- wes (10/5): - This is a remote service motel. I did not see any staff during my stay. All were through text messages. That worked well to me.
- Matthew (7/5): -
- William (8/5): - Even though the building is old and isn’t as visually appealing as others around, the room was comfortable, warm, hot water, coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and there was a drive through coffee shop out front.
- Jaroslaw (1/5): Very disappointing - Not much Old, dirty, abandoned
- mary (10/5): - very comfortable and quaint
- chris (8/5): - I will be staying there again. It was nice and quiet.
- Stephanie (10/5): - Room was big and accepted pets we went to go fishing so it was located where we could go to alot of different places
- Jessica (10/5): - Staff is super friendly. Hotel is being remodeled but very clean and you can't even tell. The rooms are comfortable, clean and very homey vs the very hotel set up at most places. Will definitely stay here on my next visit to the area.
- SUE (6/5): - Never saw a human. Check in was all on line with a code to get in the room. No ice available.
- Joseph (10/5): - The best place to stay in kenai!
- Glen (5/5): I will never stay here again - The room was very clean It was hotter than heck, no ac. No black out blinds. Bed was uncomfortable. If I wanted to talk to anyone I would have to call them.
- Nicholas (8/5): - Good motel a bit stuffy and basic but great for price
- Timothy (9/5): -
- MD SAKIBUR (6/5): - The room has pretty basic stuff. Overall, it is neat and clean. Comfy bed, secured place. Bathroom was so basic, commode was very adjacent to the wall by the bathroom door that you will have hard time to sit on it. There was no air conditioning system or heating system!!! Overall, okay for a single night or last minute check in!
- Dana (4/5): - Too hot. No AC I can understand but a fan would’ve been nice.
- Gregory (8/5): - Clean and convenient.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Was great
- Robert (10/5): - It was very clean and friendly service will definitely stay there again!!
- Gizella (8/5): - Great..
- Wong (9/5): We enjoyed our stay - Didn't have breakfast Nothing that I can think of
- John (8/5): - Decent property clean rooms. There is no manager onsite. Not a lot to do or see in Kenai but ok for an overnight stop.
- Domonic (6/5): - $200 for what felt like a 1970’s property seemed REALLY expensive. A Hotel without a front desk, restaurant or staff. Unit was clean, nice size. Windows seemed broken but I was able to figure out how to open them. 6am garbage truck was a bummer.
- Vicki (8/5): Quaint and quirky - Quaint place in an old strip mall. Room was nice but no staff on site meant we had to text when we needed anything. Took an hour to bring us a blow dryer—which is pretty standard in rooms so not sure why there wasn’t one. Ran out of toilet paper on our final day (we were provided only one roll) and asked for more about 3 hours before we left the room but no one ever brought us any. Room was clean and comfortable though. However the drapes were mostly sheer and we tried to pull them closed as best we could but could not block out a lot of the light. You would expect better curtains to block out light in Alaska.
- Guest (10/5): - Convenience and availability
- Sue (8/5): - Room was clean, bed comfortable. An older inn with well worn fixtures. I like the secure entry system. I would definitely stay here again
- Shain (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, and simple. The place has a Kenai charm about it. Feels more like a guesthouse than a cookie-cutter-chain hotel room.
- MICHAEL JOSEPH (10/5): - Cozy, easy check in. Wide parking lot. Quiet.
- chris (8/5): - I will be staying here again
- April (8/5): Very good -
- Brandi (7/5): Good - The place is fine. Clean enough and offers a bag of ice for your cooler. I like that there was a fridge and microwave in the room which was essential for me. It was comfortable and the staff was responsive, just not on site.
- Rene (8/5): - Súper clean and neat
- Andrew (8/5): - Beautiful walk nearby through the pld town and down to the beach.
- Alice (10/5): - Michelle the manager was very responsive and incredibly pleasant. Comfortable and quiet room. Will definitely be back.
- Alice (10/5): - Great quiet place with ample room to work.
- Craig F (8/5): Kenai inn - Room was clean, hotel was quiet. Bed was ok, had a 3" foam matress pad which helped, but there was an obvious pit in the mattress. Could improve the room lighting as just 3 table lamps. No desk personnel, given codes to enter hotel and room but no problem getting in. Grocery store nearby.
- Jesus (7/5): Good -
- William (8/5): It worked for us for or halibut trip - The room was clean and did not smell bad like the hallway. The bathroom was clean and good hot water. On first entry in to building there was a musty Oder, especially in hallway. There was no black out curtain, so the room was too light for good sleeping and you could see right in from the parking lot.
- Jody (8/5): Dated but roomy. - Very roomy. I liked parking right outside the door. Smoke smell. Door locks a little confusing.
- Wanasinghe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Albert (9/5): Superb -
