• Noeleen (4/5): Loved Umhlanga but would not stay in that accommodation again accomodation a - good Kitchen needed new plates and cooking appliances. They did replace and helped wherever necessary but stove was very difficult to work. One bedroom was not a bedroom it was a tiny little room just enough yo hold a single bed and no picture on Bookings.com to see what it looked like. One lady had to sleep there and was very unhappy with its position. Very noisy street all night. Lots of steep steps to get to the bedrooms also not mentioned not for older people with heavy suitcases not what was expected.

• BONOLO BEATRIS (10/5): It's a good relaxation for me nd my friends we did enjoyed staying there, - We didn't get breakfast, ohhhh my Goodness the location it's nice way way I was expect, hey Monkeys though 😅😅 It's not meeting up standard of people who doesn't have a car, I think the Admin of a key need to be changed. It was difficult for me and my friends because we were using Uber to collect the somewhere nd call Uber again to go to the property,, if you can change that it will be nice beside that we all really enjoyed staying in B5 salamander 65 Lagoon drive nice nice nice

• hove (7/5): B5 Salamander - Located in a good area. Just a walking distance to the beach as well as the Mall. The second bedroom blinds got stuck and couldn't close once opened. Our kids slept for 2 nights with light coming through the whole window. Third small bedroom has no mirror.

As a family, we liked the fact that the beach is in a walking distance. We simply walked to the beach. The rooms are good. We loved the swimming pool and the pool area..

• Tahna (1/5): No stay. Disgusting. - Nothing. Filthy. Walls mouldy. Floors dirty. Blinds and windows looked like they’ve never been cleaned. Towels stained. Smelt like mould. Utensils drawer filthy. Braai filthy. Mirrors dirty. Downstairs glass door didn’t lock, only latch locks and very easy for someone to break into where the kids room would be. Broken door frame in downstairs bathroom. Paid for 4 nights, spent 1 and handed over the keys requesting refund. Disgusting property, couldn’t keep my kids there. Hosts refusing refund even though upon return to property to make sure all our belongings were out they had a team of contractors and cleaners quickly fixing and painting everything. Accommodation was inhabitable. Attitudes of hosts after not accepting other accommodation that was subpar from what we wanted and paid for turned sour. Trying to make contact with them was told I was harassing them, empty promises of contacting us for refund - it’s now check out date and no contact has been made. I was told I was threatening them by saying I will involve the police and that I must remember the POPI act. Handed over the keys on the 18th with video proof.

• Nontobeko (1/5): Bad service and water problems - Upon my arrival at 8:30 on the 17th of October 2025 there was only cold water to bath with; Mind you I came with my 3 kids who are under the age of 10 years and I also came with our helper. We ended up going to bath at my friend’s house in Ballito. On the 18th October 2025 (school day) we had the same problem but this time there was no water at all!! mind you again my 3 year old son has eczema. I was so disappointed with this bad place and the bad service they provided for me and my kids!! Due to such bad service I had no choice but to ask for my refund and they said I must send my bank details but till date I have not received any refund from them!! This incident took place on the 17-18 of October 2025 but today it’s the 3rd of November!! Still no response on the matter. Bad service and water problems

• Vinesh (5/5): Facilities were good but disappointed with cleanliness. - Cleanliness could have been better. Floors were dirty. Don't know when curtains were last washed and blinds were very dusty. Showers were not cleaned properly.
• Fazlul (1/5): In two words ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC .... - The location and ocean view.. Pictures posted on BOOKING.COM is deceiving.... Everything of the place was terrible... The cleaner was not friendly and helpful. I would not recommend this place to anyone to book. The smell through out the entire apartment was not pleasant at all.. Cleanliness was below zero... Curtains were dirty didn't want to even touch it... Cleaner was not happy when we requested for her to come a little later and also just barged in without being told to enter... Very arrogant look as well... I would not book again with SALAMANDER... FOR THIS EXPERIENCE I THINK WE SHOULD BE REFUNDED OUR MONEY, FOR WE DID NOT RECEIVE THE STAY WE EXPECTED ESPECIALLY THE LOCATION BEING UMHLANGA... THE LOCATION BEING UMHLANGA ALONE WILL TELL U HOW IT SHOULD BE... SALAMDER SHOULD NOT BE OPERATING....
• Owen Banks (10/5): Very good, value for money. - It was like home. Comfortable, clean, daily cleaning service, attending to reported things were fixed ASAP. Close to the beach. Close to shops and restaurants. N/A
• Raven Chaithoo (8/5): Great value for money and excellent location. - The location was great. The property was spacious, and the rooms were serviced daily. Great comfort. The cleaning staff need to clean better. Bathroom and kitchen cleaning needs improvement. Also, curtains are stained and need to be wiped.

But the place was nice and it is near the beach. - Self catering The location was excellent 😍 The smell when we enter the room The place was nice only the house keeping was not good at all. The curtains had a bad smell and was dirty. The sheets were not clean, there was blood stains on them.

Towels were super white and clean Toilet paper was not not issued according to our stay, for five guest for three days we were only given 2 rolls for the entire stay.

• Fahrana (4/5): Disappointing - The location was good. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the unit. Kitchen counters and appliances were sticky. Palmette above tv had thus dust on it, which gave me anxiety as my daughter had a dust allergy. The lights on the sides of the TV was full of dead flies. There was dirt swept and piled in the corner in the small bedroom. Used disposable coffee cup turned upside down on balcony which messed the able. Very disappointing....
• Eric (7/5): The place is excellent but can do with swift response on emergencies. - The location is superb, ocean view and walking distance to the beaches. No noise and likely no theft. Has parking and dstv. Utensils were breaking and no swift response to emergency. For example the fridge broke amd was replaced on the third day. The area is advertised as having a pool, but i didn't see a pool at the premises.

• Yulesha (3/5): The place needs a good clean, maintenance not to standard. - The only thing good about this place is the Aircon and location. It is not worth it for the price paid. Appliances not in working condition (especially fridge, does not cool), Bathroom was dirty, sinks are leaking. Maintenance guy sent during our stay, to which lunch was delayed and the stink in the kitchen was terrible. False advertising, Pool table and table tennis not in working order. Braai facility not to standard, had a hole in it, to which we had to buy a braai stand.
• Aneesa (6/5): Pleasant - Large, spacious apartment, which is serviced. Has dishwasher, washing machine and large refrigerator. Convenient location, close to the beach and malls. Lounge suite and cushions need to be deep cleaned. Had a stale swear/perspiration smell, which made it extremely difficult to sit on.
• Sheron (7/5): Great place, good location but cleanliness and service from staff not so great - Spacious place, quiet and close to amenities. Wifi, kitchen fully equipped with all the necessary stuff Place was not properly cleaned when we arrived. The cleaners were rude and invaded our privacy. They just barged in and wanted to start cleaning even though we asked them to give us some time. There was no one at the place to help us find our way to our unit. Collecting and returning the keys to a different location is an inconvenience and costly on transport.
