Guest Reviews
- Tamee (9/5): Would definitely stay again! Great for us since we were seeing family in Lanesboro but also doing some other activities - Great location and super clean! Nicely updated and we enjoyed the pool and hot tub at the end of a busy day. Good breakfast! My teen boys would have liked to work out in a gym since it was rainy while we were there, but there isn’t one.

- Tammy (10/5): The inn is in Preston MN not Lanesboro MN - I think the breakfast could have had more.

- Leroy (9/5): The staff, room and stay was great. Definitely would stay there again. - The location, room and bed were great. The staff was also very welcoming and helpful. I wish there was more options for breakfast. But, the continental breakfast was okay what it is offering.

- Patricia (10/5): - When I booked this motel, the site said it was in Lanesboro when in fact it was in Preston. I wanted to stay in Lanesboro, so I was disappointed in the false information.
- Susan (10/5): Very nice hotel - Very comfy beds, clean rooms, good breakfast, nice pool and whirlpool. Only complaint would be shortage of towels...only one hand/ face towel in room and had to ask for pool towels., also lack of an elevator to 2nd floor. The hotel itself is great and service was friendly.
- Beth (9/5): -
- Ursula (10/5): Nice stay - Hotel is clean. Rooms clean. Breakfast good but could offer a bit more for hot options

- Linda (8/5): -
- Jane (6/5): - The price was a lot higher than informed. Hot breakfast was only waffles
Bakery items seemed days old. Bananas overripe, delicious coffee thanks, we arrived to checkin and dialed o cause no one at counter. I let it ring 11 times...so we left and came back a few hours later. Bed was nice and comfy.tks floor one was great too. Tks
- Patricia (10/5): Recommend this place - Clean and comfortable place to stay

- Willis (10/5): Exceptional -
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (7/5): Good -
- Kristen (10/5): - Very nice
- Rachel (10/5): - The front desk gal noticed my daughter and i booked a room with 1 king bed. Upon entering the room i heard a knock and it was the gal from the front desk wondering if we would rather have a 2 bed room. It was very considerate. The stay was great, breakfast was good. It was very relaxing!!
- Hidi (10/5): - Clean quiet and short distance from the intrest areas we wanted to visit
- Lynn (10/5): - It had everything I needed and the staff were very pleasant.
- LAURA D (10/5): - Clean and well-run family hotel. We will return.
- Julie (8/5): Good with convenient location. - The Property and room were very clean, quiet and comfortable. Location was great for visiting the surrounding villages of Lanesboro and Harmony. The light breakfast was ok with choices of cereals, fruit, yoghurts, and juices. Not very attentive at keeping the breakfast items replenished, we had to ask at reception for pancake mix and juice. In fairness, we visited during the off season and the hotel wasn't very busy, so staffing was probably at a minimum.
In our room, it would have been nice to have an electrical socket by the bed side table to plug in phone charger etc. instead of across the room on the table.
Was disappointed to see a credit card surcharge on my final bill receipt, in addition to the quoted rate and taxes.
- Charles (10/5): - Nice, Clean, and quiet Place
- Sandra (8/5): - Friendly staff. Very clean facility.
- Sheri (8/5): Always a reliable place to stay when we are in the area. - Clean, spacious and comfortable rooms. Conveniently located for the Root River Trail for biking and Forestville State Park for hiking. There is a Casey’s that is an easy walk through the parking lot, if you want to pick up a quick meal or snack. Swimming pool was very cold! Breakfast was basic. Not many healthy choices or variety.
- Ronald (8/5): - nice room
- Ronald (8/5): - nice clean room
- John (10/5): Home sweet home - Hidden gem run by caring family.
- Betty (10/5): So very clean!! - Absolutely love how they keep the hotel extremely clean, probably one of the best i have saw. Comfortable beds & sound proofed rooms.
- Steven (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was in tip-top condition. Clean, comfortable, pleasant and helpful staff. Very pleasant stay. I will stay here again for sure.
- Mark (10/5): - Staff is really nice and friendly. Clean establishment. Continental breakfast is, well, it is what it is. No better or worse than any other.
All in all a very pleasant experience.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Bed was extremely comfortable. Not much for places to eat at but the front seat staff were very friendly.
- Mark (10/5): - Friendly staff. Nice stay.
- Linda (10/5): Nice place - Our stay was good The room/ beds were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay.
- Joseph (10/5): Holiday stay - We were in town to visit damily at Thanksgiving and had a wonderful stay! Rooms were very clean and staff were very hospitable. We will stay here again
- Ker (8/5): Beautiful place - NA NA
- Ann (8/5): Very good - The location was great for access to the Root River bicycle trails, and that was the purpose of our trip. The breakfast wasn't great. There was no unsweetened creamer or half & half for the coffee. There wasn't much for gluten free options: sweetened and flavored oatmeal (I prefer original), some yogurt and some fruit. Even the dry cereal options were either wheat based or sugary.
- Nancy (8/5): - I though it was a little overpriced
- Todd (8/5): - On a major hiway. A little noisy…
- Jerome (10/5): - It was an all around beautiful place to stay. The service, the convenience, and the room. It was a great place to stay and I would do it again.
- Tara (6/5): - The hotel itself was nice. The breakfast could've been better. They didn't have any warm options except for make your own waffles.
- Dennis (8/5): Very good - The booking said Lanesboro but it was actually in Preston, 10-12 miles from Lanesboro.
- Jeanne (10/5): - Good location for sight seeing in the area. Nice pool area. Clean, well supplied breakfast area.
Slight problem--We had a first floor room and experienced noise of someone walking loudly in the room above for quite a while.
- Carol (8/5): - The pool facilities were the cleanest we’ve ever seen.
The ultra-inflammatory Fox “Not News” Channel was on in the breakfast area. A restful meal while listening to the Weather Channel or a non-political station would be much appreciated. Half of Americans are not Trumpers!
- Pamela (8/5): - Pros: Very clean, well maintained. Great bedding and pillows. Great location right off the highway. Next to a liquor store and visitors center. Very close to 2 restaurants. Lovely pool area. Staff was eager to please.
Cons: the description says this is a hotel with a promenade and a winery. Both totally untrue. There is a winery about 5 miles away. The desk clerk tried to explain where the promenade along the river was located but it certainly was not near this hotel. The mattress was uncomfortable and lumpy. Breakfast was truly minimal.
This is a better than average place to stay. Just don’t expect a promenade, a winery or an amazing breakfast.
- terri (10/5): - Great location for exploring the root river trail and forestville state park. Hot tub was relaxing at the end of the day. Restaurant, convenience store and liquor store in walking distance. It was a bit pricey for a basic hotel, but overall pleased with my stay.
- Lynnette (9/5): Will be back - Great location, good value, clean and comfortable
- Natasha (9/5): Superb -
- Nina (8/5): Very good -
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We have been spending a lot of time in hotels while we go bike riding on the trails that are farther away. By far this hotel was the cleanest I have been to in a long while. We had a problem with our tv and they tried so hard to fix it, when they realized it wasn’t going to be resolved with an easy fix they moved us to another room. It was a wonderful get away and the hotel was so comfortable and clean.
- Dominik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (10/5): We'll definitely stay here again when we are in the area. - Staff was friendly. Room was squeaky clean. Location was perfect for catching the bike trail.
- Juliann (10/5): - This was the perfect spot to stay while spending at few days at Historic Forestville and Mystery Cave State Park. It was very clean, quiet, and had easy, quick breakfast. It also had easy access to electric car charger. Would recommend!!
- sharon (10/5): - Everything went well
- Andy (10/5): - Clean and Comfortable
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Ann (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (10/5): - Very friendly staff and the rooms very nice and clean. We arrived late and the staff was waiting and called me by name. Would recommend staying here.
- Janice (4/5): Disappointing - Good location. Lots of repairs needed (I.e. toilet in our room was not firmly affixed to floor). Coffee was really terrible and breakfast not great.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Bruce (9/5): Superb -
- Dayton (10/5): - The staff at this hotel were very courteous, timely, and helpful. We enjoyed our stay, especially that we could bike from there to get on the Root River Trails.
- Theresa (10/5): - The hotel was clean and the staff friendly. The place was not soundproof and we heard noise from people in the halls, room next to ours and even people outside smoking. There was no fan in the bathroom, which may have helped give us some “white noise” between the door and our bed. The fan in room would only run if air conditioning was running, fan would not stay on continually, which also would have helped with noise control.
- Heather (8/5): - Staff was very helpful. Breakfast was very small variety.
- anne (10/5): - very clean,
- Kimberly (8/5): Great place to stay with my grandson while exploring the caves in the area. - Attentive and friendly staff. Clean room. Nice breakfast options. Convenient options for dining. Staff was not at desk during checkout.
- Jennifer (6/5): Pleasant - Location The continental breakfast was unimpressive
- Vandelac (1/5): Bad - Not much Dog poop stains on the carpet, charged more than agreed. Overwhelming smell of air freshener in room, had to leave window open and air on high all night
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
