Guest Reviews
- Karin (10/5): - Well presented home, super clean and very comfortable with everything a traveller could need including washing machine and dryer which we appreciated. A very responsive and supportive host helped to make our stay very easy and relaxed. Can definitely recommend this place.
- Gemma (9/5): Great communication and clean place in good location - Great location for working at Cumbernauld theatres.
- Gemma (9/5): Great location for the theatre, so good I've booked again. - Great communication with Katie before arriving and easy entry with the lockbox.
- Kieran (10/5): -
- Krishna (9/5): We had great time and will love to stay again. - We loved that the property was so clean and well equipped with all the necessities. It’s a beautiful house, will definitely love to stay again. The shower on the upper bathroom is small and lacks pressure. It would be great if the host can add mirror in rooms. Excluding that everything is perfect.
- Neil (7/5): Too many steps outside and inside, my mobility. isn't good. Clean but all white and grey, clinical -
- Roderick Caruana (10/5): -
- Harrison (10/5): -
- Michaela (8/5): - Not child friendly

- Jayne (8/5): Great house - This spacious, split-level house has been renovated to a very good standard and was incredibly clean and tidy throughout. The kitchen was well-equipped and having two bathrooms was a definite advantage. Self check-in was convenient and communication with the owner was prompt and informative. Although the house was well-placed for us to visit family, this neighbourhood appears quite neglected. One small internal improvement would be to hang a mirror in the main, top-floor bedroom. Be careful of any steam escaping from the downstairs shower room... it will almost certainly set the kitchen smoke detector off!
- Wing (7/5): Good space and layout, but comfort and cleanliness could be improved. - The house was spacious with three rooms and two bathrooms. Having the upstairs bathroom with a bathtub and longer screen was convenient. The house felt a bit old with a musty smell. The downstairs bathroom had some mold and the showers didn’t have full covers. The pillows were very soft and thin.

- Elaine (10/5): - The house is very comfortable well maintained and clean ,very well equipped and lacked nothing Nothing every thing was perfect
- Poesia (10/5): Exceptional -

- Lesley (10/5): Another fantastic stay - Lovely house, loads of space for us all. A perfect base for us to spend time with family close by
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - Very clean N/a
- Netnpete (10/5): Exceptional - Wow what an amazing house. There were 5 levels in the house giving space and privacy. We used Katie's house as a base whilst two of our party did the coast to coast walk. It worked out perfectly even the weather was spot on. Having two bath/shower rooms was a great bonus. The whole house was spotlessly clean. Very close lo big supermarkets and an excellent fish a chip shop a few minutes away. Nothing it was much better than expected.
- Rae (10/5): Excellent - This house is absolutely gorgeous will definitely be returning soon There wasn't anything any of us didn't like, my friend from Manchester wanted to move in ❤️
- Gordon (9/5): Comfy, spacious house, good communication with host. Would definitely stay again. - The house is quite quirky actually, split level. You could easily have a big group staying here and still have plenty privacy as the rooms are all on different levels. I like it. Can't comment on all the rooms as I only slept in the top one which was very quiet and comfortable. The living room is comfy too and the kitchen is spacious and well equipped. Minor things that could have made our stay better, a lamp in the living room to avoid having to use the big light and the shower in the upstairs bathroom is a bit difficult to get a tune out of. Eventually got it running hot only for it to go cold again pretty quickly afterwards. Didn't try the one on the downstairs bathroom though! Take nothing away from an otherwise lovely stay.
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (6/5): Decent accommodation - Lovely kitchen, and the host was excellent to deal with. A neighbour was smoking weed down the side when we arrived so we didn’t get a great first impression. Some of the bedrooms were a little tight for space, the air fresheners were a bit overwhelming, and just bear in mind for older travellers there were a lot of stairs.
- Sarfraz (10/5): Exceptional - The house was very clean and comfortable rooms with good size beds. The house was full filled with all facilities. He had a great time.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional - It was worth the price. Katie is extremely helpful and always reply if you ask anything.
Will definitely would love to come again.
- Neil (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (9/5): Superb -
- Chea (9/5): It was a very warm stay at Katie’s house. - I like the homey feeling I had with the property. I feel like going home after a day of traveling.
Besides the house is well equipped with daily utilities and needs, provided a pair of scissors. Nothing
- Darren (7/5): Good - There's more to like about the property than not. It's very clean and well located for a walk into Cumbernauld (quite decent shopping place) and to the station (which we used to go into Glasgow). Parking space right at the front up a few steps. Wifi good. And there's a warm laundry room, which we used. Had everything you'd need and we stayed for 4 nights. Definitely needs some soft lighting or a lamp in the living room, because presently the options are bright light or darkness. And why not put a superking mattress on the superking sized bed frame?
And just a warning for those with walking difficulties: the house is designed on several different floors, so there's a lot of walking up and down stairs from one room to another.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional - So clean and comfortable and provided everything you could possible need I liked everything
- Martin (10/5): Lovely place and pleasantly surprising - It was deceptive from the outside. Well laid out, clean, warm, with a modern décor. Nothing, it worked well for us after a long day
- Lesley (10/5): Brilliant stay - Lovely property, clean and comfortable
- Mike (8/5): Closeness to train station was a big plus. House interior was new and comfortable. Friendly owner - Modern facility. Walking distance to train and bus stations. 3 sets of rooms. Clean Suggest a few things to move the rating to "Excellent". (1) should have a "Welcome to Katie's house" binder with instructions how to use Internet, Heated towel bars, places to eat. Could use a few more decorations on walls to make more personal. Could not access Wi-fi - did not see the name of the wi-fi and sent a question to owner but though they did respond to some questions they did not for the Wi-fi. Some kind of ground coffee maker (French Press?) should be included. Beds and pillows were not comfortable - hard.
- Florence (8/5): Very good -
- Tachan (10/5): Huge recommendation - The house was reallt clean and heds were reall comfortable to sleep. We were 7 people, 4 adults and 3 boys but rooms’ size were specious for us. Not at all
- Maura (8/5): Lovely House, very clean - Lovely house, Clean and loads of lovely white towels, Kitchen press had tea bags, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and all the basics which is a great help, soaps in bathrooms when self catering all very important. A Dishwasher would be great especially when a big group staying. Small things like a mirror in top bedroom and a small bin in the rooms would be helpful but overall I would recommend the house every time.
- Balazs (9/5): Superb -
- Ken (10/5): Great house, well equipped, clean and comfortable. - Great house, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Host was very helpful. Recommended.
- Olatunji (9/5): The place was very comfortable and the environment was cool. - I like the environment and the cleanliness of the apartment. Nothing
- Jo (8/5): Very good -
- Dee (9/5): Superb - Katie's house was so conveniently located; close to shops for necessitis and some nice restaurants, and then Glasgow and Edinburgh. Lovely location for numerous day trips to scenic and beautiful places of interest. The house was clean, well maintained and very comfortable with all the amenities required to make it a 'home from home'. Not applicable
- Polina (10/5): It was a wonderful experience. We had 3 children, it was important for us to be in a clean house. We are happy, I recomm - Lovely clean and big house with all amenities -
- Ulla (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful stay for our three engineers. Suited all their needs.
- Welsh (9/5): Superb -
- Sajeel (10/5): Worth the stay in this modern, clean and fantastic place! - Amazing clean house, very well kept with all that you need, spacious three story town house, modern and newly refurbished. Easy access with key box and code. Lovely back yard space. Enjoyed our stay and parking outside property was good. Our host was very attentive and helpful with everything. Shopping places all around like asda and other retail shops. There is nothing we didnt like😍
- North (1/5): Bad -
- Renate (9/5): Great property, very clean and nicely furnished. -
- George (9/5): Lovely house inside -
- Barbara (9/5): Clean, comfortable, and convenient - Very convenient for our visit to meet family in Scotland; easy to find, and supermarket near by The area wasn't particularly nice, but it was a short walk to get groceries, and there was parking outside the house
The house could do with clothes hooks in the bedrooms and bathrooms; a knife sharpener in the kitchen, and enough egg cups
- Nicholas (9/5): Great stop over on our way back to England - Spacious, clean, and modern
- Lawrence (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (9/5): Excellent value for money, comfortable, clean and spacious. - Lovely kitchen, comfortable lounge areas. Nice bathrooms. Very spacious. Bath towels too small. Would prefer a large bath sheet.
- Chris (9/5): Superb - It was a lovely, well equipped house. Minor things like no sink plug and loose tap in kitchen.
- Lorraine (8/5): spotlessly clean, lot of stairs, great facilities. In run down area. - Spotlessly clean Lots and lots of stairs..difficult for elderly relative to get around. Inside house was beautiful..outside less so. The house is on a rundown council estate.
- Anne (8/5): Very good - The house was spotless and tastefully decorated.
It was over 4 floors, so everyone had lots of space and privacy.
Everything you needed was there.
Good parking space
Train station near by Some people may be put of by location (housing estate) but we weren't. It was real value for money. Will book again
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (10/5): Excellent -
- Mark (10/5): Lovely comfy bed after long drive from the South Coast! - Very nice house. Great location, close to the station and all amenities. Nothing not to like!
- Edmund (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derek (7/5): Good - Lovely house, great location near motorway. The bedrooms could have benefitted from curtains or blackout blinds. The blinds let a lot of light through.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wolfgang (10/5): Exceptional - supermarket and railwaystation closed to Katie's House Cumbernauld is not a nice city, but you don't care if you stay at Katie's
- Frank (10/5): A quiet, well-eqipped, like new, comfy home in the countryside between Edinburgh and Glasgow - Excellent lodging, everything, including the carpets and appliances, looked New! ... very comfortable living room, spacious full Kitchen, with bedrooms separated on different levels of the house; very convenient home layout & Quiet ...,,, a pathway next to the property leads to the Cumbernauld train station 5-10 minutes walk one direction; & 10 minutes the other direction, directly to the shopping mall, restaurants, coffee shops, & well-stocked & reasonable Sainsbury's large grocery store & shopping... with this nice place to stay, Katie delivers a pleasant place to stay, thanks no complaints here... just a helpful note: to save time, if you arrive from Edinburgh or Glasgow at the train station, even with using GPS & Google, to find the house, please note that the house is in a block of houses which is up on the hill, it's not within the block of houses right next to the main road; look for the pathway to town (photo added: flowers along this pathway), or the road that goes up a hill right next to the pathway; walk up that road & Katie's is straight down the row on the right, the house freshly-painted on the outside...
- Matt (9/5): Superb - spotless! area feels a tired, but house is immaculate
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Lucy (8/5): Spacious and clean, minimal and functional house. - Fabulously spacious & clean, toilet roll provided and general cleaning products. Hot shower, bath (we only used the one bathroom), husband liked the tv with the remote that you can talk to. Bath floor towels would have been useful.
Chopping boards and a few more utensils in the kitchen also. There were a couple of small wooden boards which we used to chop veg on but a raw meat board would have been used and a cafetière. Also a hairdryer, although this may have been present just not in the top double bedroom.
Also worth noting the memory foam mattress (again top double) which served its purpose as it should but just not a personal preference.
Would definitely still recommend the place.
- Reece (9/5): Great property, ideal for our use. -
- Reece (10/5): Great accommodation, clean and welcoming. - Clean, well appointed. The area is a run down
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (8/5): Lovely quirky house - Very Clean
Quirky layout Some damage to walls, could do with a coat of paint in some areas or some polyfiller.
- Fiona (10/5): Great property and communication from host. -
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully presented. Cosy and welcoming.
- Jesse (8/5): Very good -
- Mcgrath (10/5): Exceptional - The owner went out of their way on Christmas Eve to come and help us with something we couldn't quite figure out. Nothing, the house was clean, didn't look very big from the outside but inside was very spacious and worked well for our big family.
- Lynne (10/5): Awesome and hope to return - The house was amazing and me all and my family could relax and enjoy our pre Christmas time together. Local shops made it easy to get supplies. I personally loved the decor and the kitchen was amazing. We were so impressed that we left a Christmas card. No internet access but this actually went well for us 😃
- Cheri (10/5): Lovely, clean house with excellent host - would definitely recommend :) - Katie went out of her way to accomodate our group - we needed late check out due to our niece performing in a concert the evening before. She was able to re-arrange cleaning staff to come later the following day :)
The house itself was spotless and we all had a lovely, comfortable sleep. We had Netflix and wifi which was a godsend for having a 21 and 13 yrs old! The house was a tardis with more than enough room for 3 people over 5 floors - outside looks are deceiving! Nothing at all - only thing I would say is that some wine glasses in kitchen would have been welcomed instead of tumblers and pillows could have been doing with being a bit more firm,
- Graham (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kailash (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good -

- John (9/5): Excellent will recommend - We liked everything we did think a tray for the oven and one to carry a cup up to the lounge would be useful. Water pressure
- Cheryl (10/5): Close to motorway in a quiet neighborhood. - It was very close to the motorway in a quiet neighborhood. Kate was very communicative. The house was newly updated and very comfortable. parking was conveniently right out the front door. hot water had some problems.
- Cheryl (10/5): Comfortable and quiet stay near Glasgow. - It was very close to the freeway. Quiet neighborhood. The apartment was recent remodeled. It looks beautiful and feels very comfortable! Parking right in front of the apartment made it very convenient. I missed that fact there was no wifi.
