- Misiakowski (10/5): - Location,, cleanliness, comfortable Was a bit confused about how to get into the property
- Richard (10/5): Fabulous - We loved the hot tub, was easy to use, we just followed the instructions on the welcome back. The kitchen was great all the appliances you need including a dishwasher. The whole property was spotless and also access to Netflix/Youtube/Disney on both TV’s. The property is only an 2 mins walk to the town centre where there’s great bars, shops and restaurants. Our contact Kelly was really helpful and gave us all the info we needed. Will love to come back again Nothing
- Hayley (10/5): Comfy stay in ulverston - Really central, lots of space for large group and big rooms. All the appliances you could need. The parking spaces were quite hard to find. Hot tub took too long to heat to use the same day when checking in at 3pm
- Rebecca (10/5): -
- Graham (10/5): Family few days away - Family ,of 4 with 2 teenagers. 2nd time here. Love the location as its right in the town and easy to walk to the shops, pubs, and restaurants.
It's very comfy inside too. Fisrt and last night we ate in and watched a film and played games . Also like the Free parking. Good host communication. Nothing.
- Garry (10/5): This is my go to when in Ulverston and surrounding area and always stay when available - N/A Nothing to dislike lovely place

- Lydia (9/5): A lovely weekend away! Very homely was peaceful a few cars whizz past but I like the sound when I’m nodding off outside. - The interior design was beautiful very homely home! Bed was comfortable, great location not too far from Windermere, Ambleside etc The hot tub was a woodfire one it would’ve had to be burning all night just to stay hot enough, the sofa was a little small but we just sat in bed.
My partner said a bigger tv in the bedroom as we had to get the iPad out to watch films at night

- Ellie (7/5): Wouldn’t stay again, purely because of the hot tub, as i payed the extra price to get an apartment with a hot tub and we - The property was well kept, and clean and tidy when we arrived, and was such a lovely homely atmosphere to the accommodation. The living area, kitchen and bedroom was all equally well used, and made our stay that little bit more pleasant. With the opportunity to cook our own meals, and relax in a quiet, relaxed environment. The only thing about the property which i believe needs improvement would have been the hot tub, the information on the booking.com website that was misleading was that it was a log burner hot tub, although the guidance allowed us 4-6 hours for the usage, we was still waiting 7 hours later, considering we kept the fire going. It was abit disappointing as i had payed extra to ensure we had the hot tub, however we didn’t even get the chance to use it. Also, the hot tub wasn’t the cleanest, although the entire apartment was kept and well looked after, the hot tub was the disappointing part, when we was heating it up, we noticed that the hot tub had residue left in it, whether this was from previous tenants or just general maintenance.
- Michelle (9/5): We had an excellent time here and I will definitely book again. This place is an absolute gem. - We stayed in the Last Cask which is a 3 bed property. It is very clean and spacious and located perfectly for the Lake District and other local areas. The bedrooms are such a good size with a TV in each one. The property is very tastefully designed with all the provisions that you need like a dining table, dishwasher and washing machine. The hot tub is a brilliant addition and we had plenty of logs supplied. It heats up quickly within 90 mins and stays warm for ages. I really want one at home now! There are only 2 things and they are small. The outdoor space needs more lighting for the evenings. We bought candles as it was so dark. Also we were not left any chemicals for the hot tub so had to empty and refill when we wanted to use it. Not much of an issue but it meant we had to heat the hot tub from cold each time.

- Nigel (10/5): Perfect base for visiting the Lake district and southern Cumbria - The Old Brewery is perfectly placed for a trip to the southern Lake District with places such as Kendal and Windemere being only 30-40 minutes drive away. Ulverston is great town to be based in with plenty of restaurants and shops, Booths supermarket and Irving's Butchers are two standout places to shop. We were staying in the millings cottage which was amazing plenty of space for two with really good facilities and really cozy and comfortable.
- Cheryl (10/5): Beautiful apartment and great location -
- Mark (10/5): Fantastic stay, will definitely be back - The property was in a fantastic place, very clean and cozy, corresponding with the owners was fab The property was very clean and cozy,
- Elisa (10/5): Perfect location for the Dickensian Christmas Markets. - The property is in the centre of town with free parking, we love Ulverston and visit friends often. This cottage was perfect for our family’s stay x5 adults.
- Clare (10/5): Amazing place in a great location - Very lean and finished to a high standard, very spacious for an apartment Nothing
- Claire (8/5): -
- Fiona (8/5): Lovely flat, but check the description carefully before you book. - Inside the flat there was plenty of room - indeed, much more than I expected in some rooms. The bathroom in particular was very spacious and the shower was both hot and vigorous. Leaving the floor open under the eaves in one bedroom meant that the three young children with me had lots of floor to play on and they thoroughly approved of the flat. I wasn't aware that the entrance to the flat was up a flight of external stairs. The children with us were all confidently mobile so it was more a nuisance than an actual problem but if we had a baby in the party I would have been very cross. The advertised hot tub was certainly there, but it was heated by solid fuel and, according to instructions, took between 4 and 6 hours to heat up. We didn't bother and the children were somewhat disappointed. The Wifi was very slow and it was impossible to watch anything on my laptop in the bedroom I was in.
- Daniel (10/5): - Great location and lovely, cosy cottage with great facilities! Only grievance was the hot tub, the fire was incredibly difficult to manage as the door to the burner didn't fully close, so logs and kindling were burning too quickly to keep on top of without topping it up with fuel every 5 or 10 minutes. Couldn't shut the door to reduce the air intake, so I couldn't keep the heat constant to warm the water up!
- lisa (7/5): -
- Alison (9/5): The Tap Room - Beds were comfortable, loved the chair and footstool set, amazing kitchen. Lovely surprise bottle of prosecco. Sadly the milk was off and we did not have time for the hot tub.
- Graham (8/5): Short family trip away. - Lovely wee townhouse/cottage right in the heart of Ulverston. Had all the things we needed and the location in the village was great. A two minute walk to all the pubs and restaurants and shops. Nothing we didn't like at all.
- Nichola (10/5): -
- Lubna (9/5): -
- Lisa (6/5): Was lovely place just a few things let it down but wouldn’t stop me from returning - Was nicely decorated beds was really comfy great location Floors was very dirty lots of dust in the rugs they need a good clean, only one roll of toilet for 5 people also no chlorine tablets for hot tub
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Hopkins (10/5): - Beautiful inside 😍 and out. Lovely area , highly recommend . I will definitely book again , thankyou for a lovely stay
Great value for money 👌 N/A
- Eleanor (10/5): Great location with a hot tub! - Excellent facilities, comfy beds and great location. Walking distance to the shops, cafes and restaurants. The hot tub was a great highlight and was easy to keep warm once we’d heated the water up. Parking space was really handy too. Would definitely come and stay again.
- Emma (8/5): Very relaxing stay - We had a lovely relaxing weekend here, very quiet, hot tub was a hige bonus, home away from home, very private. Very clean ans tidy. Would definitely stay here again
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Jenni (8/5): Beautiful Lake District stay - Amazing cottage! So beautifully decorated and really comfortable. It was in a perfect location to explore the Lake District while also being in a lovely little town with lots of shops, cafes and pubs nearby. Check in process was very smooth and the host was great for sending directions and parking instructions through on the day of our arrival. Loved the hot tub so much, although it was a labour of love. Be prepared that it takes hours to light (4-6) so you may not get as much use out of it as you would an electric one. But it was amazing once heated, and the hosts left us a bottle of prosecco which was a nice touch. The hot tub requires a lot of stuff (matches, firelighters, kindling, logs) and it was a bit disappointing not to have been left enough of it by the hosts - we had to go and source it from local petrol stations. Also, the kitchen was missing quite a lot of things; it’s clear they used to have everything when they first started but things like wine glasses could be easily replaced at low cost and would be nicer for guests.
- Charlotte (10/5): -
- Lucy (10/5): Wonderful stay in Ulverston, would recommend! - Lovely location and great facilities
- Susan (8/5): Very well appointed 3 bedroom Mash Tun cottage with everything needed for a 3 night stay. - Everything was good. Nicola was very friendly & we got in early. Comfortable stay. Thanx for Prosecco & milk. The smell of burning from hot tub was very noticeable in house with windows closed
- Sophie (4/5): Not recommended - Good location, comfy bed and lovely shower Not good communication with the owner, struggled to find the place at first and couldn’t get in touch with the owners and also rang again to see if we could get some more stuff for the hot tub but no answer again so could only use hot tub for one night. Curtain fell down on the second night and owner wasnt very helpful about it either. Left one night early as we were very disappointed
- tracey (8/5): A lovely, well positioned property. It offers comfortable accomodation for 6 guests. - The property had 3 good sized bedrooms, the hot tub is a nice addition but as it is wood fired it takes 4 hours to heat up. The location is very central in Ulverston and a short walk from the Cumbria way, which is a lovely walk. The property could do with a few extra cups (4 for 6 guest)! The outside space could be given a few more bushes etc to soften it.
- Carla (6/5): The property was nice, just not big enough downstairs for a family of 5 - The property was easy to find, with great instructions. The house was clean and to a good standard.
Good Location to the town and parking was a bonus. Good Wifi The Steps into the property were too steep for our 75 year mother in law. The rug in the living room was rolled over and uneven and was a trip hazard so ended putting that away under the sofa. There was also not enough glasses for 5 people and only a dining table for 2!! Wasn't really big enough downstairs for a family of 5. The kitchen sink waste water seem to empty out all over the back patio, which was unpleasant and smelly.
- Paul (8/5): - Shower needs an anti-slip mat
- Russell (10/5): I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at brewer Street apartment😃 - Very well presented apartment with time and effort well spent There was nothing I like that I could fault with the apartment. Sometimes you could get a bit of noise outside with cars driving past but I suppose that can be expected when you’re in a town centre.
- ALISON (8/5): Lovely stay with family - Very central. 2 min walk to shops, bars, restaurants. 3 bedrooms, hot tub.
- Garry (10/5): - Central to the town, clean property, good kitchen facilities, hot tub clean and well maintained, parking easy Nothing not to like my go to when available
- Steve (10/5): 😊 - Standard of property was excellent All good
- Lucy (10/5): Had an amazing 3 nights, would recommend to anyone! - loved staying here for a few nights, great location for town and local walks. Hot tub was great, once it’s been heated up it stays warm enough that it doesn’t take long to heat back up the next day. Also easy to operate - just follow the instructions and it’s perfect. Very clean and comfortable property, owners are lovely and will help with anything you need. the only thing we had any problem with was just putting a towel down next to the shower because the water does get everywhere but this is a very little problem!
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arabelle (7/5): Good - plan your hot tub heating time into your day - It was clean & tidy and a good location to the centre. The log burner hot tub meant we were tied to the cottage whilst it took hours to heat up. It should advertise that's it this type of hot tub.
- Lorna (8/5): Great quality apartment in lovely location, great for exploring the lakes - The location was great right in the heart of Ulverston which has a few nice places to eat and some lovely shops. Also a great base for exploring the lakes with many things in easy reach. We had a three bedroom roof top apartment which had views of the monument from the roof terrace which was lovely. The apartment was spacious and to a high quality with everything you needed. We luckily had a little sunshine one evening and the roof terrace was a lovely subtract. I would happily stay again and recommend to friends Nothing specific, however a couple of bonus bits would have been. Coat hooks near the radiator in the hall to help dry coats as we were caught by the Cumbrian rain, however we used the towel rail instead. To state there are stairs up to the apartment. My dad has mobility issues so it would have been handy to know but we managed fine as it has a good hand rail.
- Shawcross (10/5): Exceptional - Had an excellent breakfast at The Honeysuckle Cafe Need a mat outside shower, when the shower door is open all the water drips down onto the floor
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Smith (10/5): Cost cottage - Could not fault a thing. Great communications with the owner from initial booking stage through to arriving. Parking was great. Lovely holiday home. Was clean and had everything we needed. Beds comfortable and plenty of hanging for clothes. Short walk into Ulverston centre, where there were plenty of lovely pubs, restaurants etc. Will definitely be returning.
- Helen (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (10/5): Would highly recommen, great location - Bright, warm, very well presented, very clean Overall it was great
- Kenny (7/5): Good - The apartment is cosy, clean, and comfortable. the spa is fun for family.
Good location. The garden door doesn’t have a lock and laundry airer is not provided, whereas the other three bedrooms apartment does. It would also be perfect if some hooks or hangers could be added in the bathroom for convenience
The cot mentioned in the description that it's suitable for children up to 6 years old, but from my experience, it’s only suitable for children up to 4 years old or around 100cm in height.
Lastly, I noticed the used dishes and utensils were placed in the dishwasher but the washing cycle hadn’t been started, there was an unpleasant smell.
- Karen (6/5): Would I recommend? No - I wouldn’t describe these holiday lets as luxury. They are smartly furnished and are clean but there are lots of downsides to them. They are situated on an ongoing building project which is not mentioned in their description and wasn’t informed of prior to me paying. In order to get into the parking area, we had to move barriers over which were around a huge hole in the ground. I believed when booking I was renting a three bed cottage because again, the main description doesn’t say there’s a multitude of different options and I only found out that I wasn’t and that I had booked a three bed apartment when I got the instructions on how to reach the property two days before arrival. Because I’m disabled, I checked booking.com on the morning of arrival and discovered the three bed cottage was available so I text Kelly, the person who had sent me the property information, asking if I could swap the booking over and got no response whatsoever despite offering to pay any difference in costs. A simple answer saying that I was unable to would have sufficed. I struggled all weekend going up and down iron stairs because I wasn’t able to swap the accommodation and Kelly wasn’t even civil enough to reply to my text (which was delivered and never even read). Poor customer service right there. Happy to take your money but not happy to accommodate you thereafter.
The hot tub, well that doesn’t even bare thinking about. My husband spent most of Saturday trying to get it hot enough for use and then when we took the top off, discovered it was filthy inside. The water was greasy with a slimy film on top of it. So that was no use to us whatsoever.
The position of the properties is on the corner of two main roads used like an F1 track by the locals so is noisy at all times day and night. There are pedestrian crossings outside two sides of the apartment with continuous flashing orange lights which reflect up to two out of the three bedroom windows making it really difficult to sleep.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Marlene (9/5): Wonderful and relaxing - Very comfy beds. Cosy and well designed lounge area. Everything you would need in the kitchen.
Hot tub was lovely however it wasn’t hot enough to use until the second day so if you were staying only one night you wouldn’t get the benefit. By the second night though it was gorgeous! There is some road noise which is to be expected in a heritage building. It didn’t bother me as I always travel with earplugs but something to be aware of.
- Phillip (8/5): Modern clean apartment very cosy. - Very close to town centre amenities Restaurants, cafes, museums, property very clean. modern decoration. Layout very usable and cosy ambiance. Bottle Proseco was a nice gesture by property owners. Very fast traffic centre of town Ratrun racing by Front windows of property 24/7 Very noisy due to traffic flow. Ongoing building work to the complex took edge off comfort factor.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Great stay, good communication from the owners, special touches on arrival that make you smile 😊 Located well for access to the centre or base location for going around the lake district
- Samantha (9/5): Stunning apartment in great central location for the lakes - Stunning decor, spotlessly clean throughout, comfy beds. Everything we could possibly need! Disappointed that the hot tub was not electric and we found it impossible to adequately heat it for use. Spent hours tending to fire for it to have no effect on heating and gave up in the end.
Cutlery and crockery looked like it had been used and put away, not cleaned, so had to wash everything up before using.
- Yolandie (9/5): Superb -
- Wendy (7/5): Lovely little place but hot tub facility pointless - Great location, comfortable and cozy The hot tub was a bit of a pointless facility. Andrew had been looking forward to using it. We used all the logs and hours of our time just trying to warm it up and gave up in the end
- Shannon (10/5): Great value for money, lovely accommodating hosts - Me and my partner stayed at Brewers Rest for 2 nights and had the best time. It’s in a great location, good facilities and an all round great stay. Would highly recommend!
- Emma (6/5): Good but could have been better with making sure there was plenty of wood instead of leaving the bare minimum. The host - Clean and comfortable beds. Had the necessary house essentials and the bottle of Prosecco was a nice touch Not enough wood to heat the hot tub for our 2 night stay. We had to buy more wood and we only got to experience the hot tub for one night. This is after 4 hours of trying on the first night and it wasn’t even luke warm so gave up.
We contacted the host who couldn’t bring more wood until the next day but we were leaving that day.
- Serena (9/5): Superb - The bed was so comfortable and a lovely large bath. Struggled to find the key box in the car park as we arrived by train, and we were unable to light the fire for the hot tub :(
- Maxime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (9/5): Superb - Cosy, lovely decor and homely
- Tara (8/5): Very good - Beautifully decorated, very spacious with everything we needed and in a perfect location. A much appreciated touch leaving us a bottle of prosecco for New Years Eve. We didn't realise the hot tub was log fired which was disappointing as it took so long to get the water warm enough to use it, and meant we had to stay in for 5 hours before the water was hot. We also had to spend an additional £35 replenishing to logs when other places we have visited have hot tubs that are hot the minute you want to use them. If you don't want to use the hot tub everything else is perfect
- Jb (6/5): Good but could have been better. - It was very comfortable, clean and very well maintained. Decorated and furnished to a high standard. We booked this property for the use of the wood burner hot tub. We were at the accommodation for over 6 hours one of the days trying to heat it but it didn’t work very well at all and the water was far to cold to enjoy. A massive disappointment to us. We did tell the owner but we just got told that it was normal for this time of year. Which we weren’t told before. No apology either.
- Chrislawr (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely modern and clean furnishings, hot tub was fantastic once you could build the fire high enough (couldn't even take the chill off the first night, in November), great location in the small town of Ulverston with own designated parking. Great base to explore the local areas from. Would definitely recommend/visit again!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ebony (9/5): Loved how private the outside rooftop was! - The apartment had a very homely feel, and the decor/ornaments were stunning! A lock on the bathroom would be good
- Jim (10/5): Exceptional - Great family stay in right in the centre
- Madison (10/5): Cozy cottage - The cottage gives a very welcoming feeling. Has everything you need. It is only a couple minutes walk from some amazing cafes and restaurants. The spa was just the icing on the cake
- Nicola (7/5): Great cottage but on noisy busy road - Location in relation to accessing town
Parking space (though bit of a walk in the rain) Traffic on Friday night up to 2am & restart 6am on Saturday.

- Danielle (8/5): Brilliant location for us, beautiful house, really enjoyed our stay - Very central to all the shops in Ulverston, lovely little walk around the town. You could easily explore many areas of the lakes from where the house is in Ulverston. Bedrooms really spacious and clean It’s not that we didn’t like the property and it didn’t impact our stay. We would have liked to be able to sit and have a meal at the table. Some people had to eat with plates on their knees. There weren’t enough bowls for amount of people staying in the house. Some kitchen utensils needed updating.

- Casson (8/5): Great property, great location. - The apartment was brilliant, it was clean and modern. Couldn't get hold of the owner when arrived as hadn't been given all information for the property we were staying in, luckily one of the men at the property sorted it out for us and got sorted after approx 40mins. Once in the property it was spot on and the owners were great when they arrived to assist.
- Andy (1/5): Very upset customer - Nothing We didn't like anything, we got there and were told it was shared accommodation although when we booked it was described as a full house, we got there to be shown where we would be staying with a man already very comfortable with his feet up watching TV. The host was very quick to offer a full refund which we accepted but have yet to still receive, hopefully this will be refunded in the next couple of days
- Bob (9/5): Despite a couple of small things we had a fabulous weekend in the modern, comfortable apartment - Very well designed with good quality furniture, fittings, beds and linen. The kitchen and bathroom were both modern and had everything needed. The hot tub was an added bonus.
The location on the edge of the town was excellent The bathroom door didn’t lock and the shower tray leaked/overflowed, although only minor issues, previous guests had mentioned these things so maybe they should have been put right.
Only 4 chairs on the patio, there should be 6
And, the Wi-Fi only worked in the lounge

- Joanne (9/5): Excellent apartment & would definitely recommend & return. - Stunning apartment with rooftop terrace & hot tub. Finished to a very high spec & lovely gifts left for my husband’s birthday. Directions could have been better, took us 30 mins to find. Flashing light in the bedroom from the zebra crossing outside.
- Helena (10/5): We had a lovely stay here and couldn’t fault it. Great location and helpful staff to assist you. - Very well furnished with comfortable pillows and beds.
Kitchen was well equipped and the extras of tea towels, dish washer tablets and cleaning materials were a great help.
- Sharon (9/5): Nice long weekend break with my friends. Lovely cottage, close to everything would definitely recommend. - The cottage was lovely and cosy, clean and had everything you needed. The property was spot on. Only one little issue was there was a number to call for extra logs for the hot tub which we did as we were using it all the time, but the man never turned up or got in touch to say why. Other than that the break and the cottage was brilliant.
- Faye (10/5): Lovely girls trip away! - Lovely home, very cute and decorative! Super close to all the pubs and shops!
