• Marta (7/5): Good for a short stay and if you eat every single meal out. - Perfect location. Friendly and helpful host. Lacking functionality. Since the property doesn’t offer any food, you’d expect at least some basic kitchen facilities, but there are none unfortunately. There’s a common area with a table and a drinks station, but no sink, no cutlery and no plates. This made it really difficult to have even the simple snack at the property.

• Maja (9/5): A room with soul for great value - A hidden gem in Catania. The house is beautiful, indeed filled with books and the location couldn't be better: minutes from Piazza del Duomo (my favorite square), the main promenade Via Etnea and to the Alibus station taking you to the airport (only one station away). The room is so quite and comfortable, I had a great night's sleep. In the room there was everything I needed. Only regret is that I could stay there only for one night. The only remark is that it would have been helpful to have a few more cups and cutlery in the common area.

• Maxwell (10/5): It was Perfect - The property was beautiful in a perfect location. My room was clean and comfortable and everything you need was provided. Shapiro, soap and even shower cap if you’d like. Paola recommended a wonderful place for a vegetarian dinner and even offered for me to leave my luggage the next day after check out time. I would absolutely recommend Bed and Books.

Agata) e 5 dalla piazza Borsellino, dove parte il pullman per l’aeroporto. E molto tranquillo, comodo, pulito e sicuro. Paolo è molto gentile e aiuta con tutto.

• Isabella (7/5): - The room was spacious and clean. The location is unbeatable, and overall great value for money! A mini-fridge would make a great addition to the room. Communication with the host and check-in could have been smoother. If communicated check-in times are from 2pm, the room should be ready by 2pm regardless of arrival time.

• Guest (10/5): - Abbiamo pernottato per 4 notti nella camera con bagno privato. La camera si è presentata spaziosa, pulita, profumata e luminosa. Era attrezzata anche di asciugamani per la doccia e il lavandino, e di shampoo, balsamo e sapone. (Per chi volesse c’erano anche la televisione, bicchieri e brocca d’acqua). Per noi è stato essenziale, nelle calde notti di agosto, trovare il condizionatore con funzione di deumidificatore. La struttura, situata in un palazzo storico a letteralmente 2 minuti a piedi dal Duomo, risulta essere accogliente, calorosa e silenziosa nonostante la vicinanza con il centro storico. La sua particolarità sono gli arredi antichi, i soffitti alti e decorati e i copiosi libri antichi e moderni a disposizione degli ospiti sia all’ingresso che nelle stanze. Il valore aggiunto della nostra permanenza è stato, senza dubbio, l’oste Paolo che fin dal primo contatto telefonico si è dimostrato gentile, di grande consiglio e disponibile. Ad esempio, grazie a Paolo abbiamo potuto prenotare un tour guidato dell’Etna e individuato dei locali in cui mangiare (colazione, pranzo e cena). Inoltre, ci ha messo a disposizione ombrelli (rivelatisi fondamentali durante i rovesci d’acqua che abbiamo incontrato), un ombrellone da spiaggia e il frigorifero in condivisione nella sala comune dell’ingresso. Se proprio vogliamo cercare il pelo nell’uovo, da intendersi come una critica costruttiva, aggiungeremmo un asciugamanino in più per persona per il bidet. E consiglieremmo di implementare il servizio con uno spazio di parcheggio convenzionato per la macchina. Nel complesso, la nostra esperienza è stata più che positiva e non mancheremo di consigliare Bed & Books a chiunque volesse trascorrere un soggiorno piacevole a Catania.

• Chris (10/5): It was the perfect location. - Just steps from Piazza Duomo and fish market. Very centrally located. Once you get up the stairs and into your rooms you will be pleasantly surprised. Have you ever stayed in a castle, well this is what it seemed like to me. The sprawling rooms and high ceilings made the stay very special. Paulo the host is the sweetest man. He is very helpful and is always reachable should you need him. He even drives to the airport to pick you up or drop you off for much less than a taxi. I enjoyed exploring Catania from this perfect location. Thank you Paulo.

The house is very clean and it has plenty of space and it includes a shared space to eat if you wish to eat inside but not in your room. The location is just perfect and most importantly safe.

• Paulina (8/5): Warm and welcoming, the loveliest host in a beautiful ornate apartment in the heart of catania - Amazing location right by the central square, the flat / room had some beautiful original features and the host was absolutely amazing!! So kind, generous, with lots of recommendations and felt like we were staying with friends. We would absolutely come and stay again!!! Could be a little noisy because of the area being so central, some of the furniture was quite modern and the apartment would have suited some more original pieces but that’s preference! We would have loved a mini fridge in the room or somewhere in the flat to put drinks / water in and our kettle didn’t work.

Clean and quiet, although very central. If it's your first time in Catania, don't look any further, this is your best spot to have a good night sleep and to explore the city.

• Angela (8/5): Be part of Catania's history; wander and wonder. - room was very spacious. The building was an ancient palazzo and has a charming ambience. You feel a small part of its history. Location is excellent next to piazze duomo but quiet. Paolo, our host was very helpful and informative about his home town of Catania. the huge entrance would have been very grand at one time but now has unfortunately been daubed with unattractive graffiti which is not the most inviting.

• Jacopo (9/5): Have a super central Palazzo experience with a familial touch, instead of a plain hotel thing. - Paolo REALLY goes above and beyond to make sure all goes well. He's really approachable courteous solution driven and fast too! One may not expect because of the hugely high ceilings but the room air conditioning was super strong and effective (and had to dial it down!) Nothing in particular. Paolo is super fast responding on WhatsApp whatever the time or short notice, so nothing to complain on contact responsiveness.

Amazing location with easy access to the square with lots going on and the bus and train station and taxis. Host was super friendly and helpful and collected me for the airport despite huge delays , this was not a problem. Great option for solo travellers.

• Marianna (10/5): A unique b&b in a historic palace, close to everything you might want to see or try in Catania; close to shuttle bu - A very warm welcome we received at this b&b,excellent communication before and on arrival. A Very old vila, stylish furniture and pictures made it a unique experience. Paulo is a very hospitable host, gives informative talk on arrival and is at your disposal. We even got a tip for a good restaurant and a Lesson on What to try in Sicily; we obeyed and were not disapponted: had the best dinner in Sicily and excellent streetfood in a nearby market. Would open the garden too, as it is a hidden gem in the asfalt/ concrete jungle.

And the host was very informative about things to see/do and spoke English which was a plus for us. Not really a question of what we didn't like, it's just your bed away from home is never as cozy, We would have liked a couple easy chairs to sit in. The room was large and could accommodate a couple nice chairs.
