• April (10/5): A home from home - Gill and Michael were so friendly and welcoming. The property is spacious with high ceilings and an open-plan living area. Everything is modern and comfortable with homely touches everywhere. All appliances are top-notch, the bathrooms are pristine, and the showers are excellent. The beds are so comfortable, and it's easy to get a good night's sleep as the property is on a quiet road. But it's still just walking distance from the local hostelry where we had a wonderful Thai meal cooked by a local Thai lady who uses her own homegrown produce in the authentic menu. We enjoyed visiting Clay Cliffs at Omarama, followed by lunch at Omarama Lodge. And looking at the fossils and Elephant Rocks was a lovely afternoon jaunt. Visit Gill and Michael if you can. You'll be glad you did. There wasn't one thing we didn't like. It was 100% for us. Our best overnight accommodation of our trip around the South Island. We even cut short our trip to Omarama to spend the afternoon drinking coffee and reading 'at home'. Very relaxing.
