Guest Reviews
- Rosanna (9/5): Deligthful, tranquil stay in a beautiful setting, excellent location. - The location was well positioned. The Nest was well decorated and had a cosy tv room and a lovely sun room with all amenties and a lot of thought had gone into providing everything to make our stay perfect with games, books, maps, dog bowls, dog treats as well as treats for us. The kitchenette was small but it was equipped with everything we needed.. The gardens were delightfully and we enjoyed looking at the birds from our sun lounge area. We enjoyed walking from the back of the house along the river with our dog. We would of enjoyed a bigger bed maybe a king size bed as my husband found the bed not longer enough and the wooden sides of the bed slightly uncomfortable.
- Jane H (10/5): - The accommodation was very clean, comfortable, and well equipped for our 3-night stay. We enjoyed watching birds in the garden whilst we had our breakfast. The location is wonderful for access to the walks along the rivers Parrett and Tone, and for the excellent King Alfred pub. The owners were friendly, helpful, on hand if needed, but unobtrusive. We would definitely stay again.
- Tyler (10/5): Great stay and would recommend. - It had everything the you need, clean and cosy. The hosts were very accommodating and friendly. Nothing.
- ff52c32e189a728b591c8b7a23ad229f (8/5): Nest the Best - Immaculate and spotless cottage. Mainly spacious. Traditional with modern touch. Beautiful garden.
Very helpful and friendly hosts.
Milk, bottled water and eggs nice touch. The kitchenette. Just too bijoux. Freezer compartment needed defrosting.
- Laura (10/5): Warm welcoming stay. - Lovely location, friendly owners. Nothing
- Clayton (10/5): - The hosts, Hannah & Nic, were very accommodation and very flexible with the checking in, very helpful, and highly recommended,
Will definitely recommend and hopefully stay again if in the area. Nothing to mention

- Shelly (10/5): Great stay ! - So much care and attention was taken to make our stay enjoyable and comfortable. Nothing all perfect !
- Luisa (10/5): Clean, cozy and welcoming stay. - We loved the Nest and had a very comfortable and cozy stay! The cottage was very warm and clean and was great to walk out the door along the river. It had everything we could have needed, we all loved watching the birds from the window, Roxy was fascinated by the fish in the pond! Nothing, you have a super cottage here, thank you for the stay!
- Fiona (10/5): -
- clinch (10/5): - Lovely accomodation, really cosy, very clean. Beautiful location.
- Vincenzo (9/5): -
- Dawn (9/5): A little gem. - The location is beautiful and the cottage is very cosy. The hosts, Nic and Han (and the dogs), were extremely friendly and helpful. They provided a folder of useful information as well as fresh eggs, milk and a bottle of wine when we arrived. It was lovely to sit and watch the birds in the garden whilst eating breakfast. There are many places of interest within easy reach and the local pub is a few minutes walk away. The only downside was the shower. The pressure is low and the temperature hard to regulate.
- Meike (10/5): Lovely Place - Clean and cozy place. Was a very relaxing stay.
- Ben (9/5): - Lovely base for exploring the Levels. Felt like a home from home.
- Emma (9/5): Lovely location, cosy, comfortable and truly dog friendly - The property met all our needs in terms of location, facilities provided and outside space.
A property that was truly dog friendly which allowed us to really relax and enjoy our break
- yehoshua yashuv (10/5): Wonderful stay in the cosy nest - The cottage was light, airy beautifully furnished and well equipped. In addition, we were encouraged to take full advantage of the beautiful garden and surroundings Nothing
- Leyoh (8/5): Very good -
- Valerie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Baughman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb - The only minor criticism I would have relates to the shower pressure which was not great - other than that, everything else was absolutely perfect.
- Michelle (10/5): Beautiful location, fantastic comfy and well appointed cottage with a gorgeous garden. Fabulous and attentive hosts that - It was clean, comfy and perfect for our needs. The log burner was lovely and the garden was a perfect playground for our pup. We loved watching and listening to the birds in the garden. Nothing
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Anastazia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karon (10/5): A perfect, peaceful, rustic & cosy country getaway! - Amazing garden for our dogs, secure & spacious & lovely views of the birds feeding through the large
We enjoyed the cosiness of the log burner (& blankets provided) & the rustic, quirky feel to the property. Lovely little thoughtful touches- A personalised postcard, eggs, mince pies, choccies & milk awaited us on arrival, plus treats for the dogs! The house was decorated beautifully, which added to the festive feel ☺️ The bed was also extremely comfortable & the owners really helpful, understanding & responsive to communications. We really loved it here, would highly recommend! Absolutely nothing at all! Just a few things that may need a bit of attention- shower & door knob to sitting room a bit temperamental but didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay at all. Something we did think may benefit future guests with dogs, is to put a wooden gate on the stairs to prevent them from going up there?
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Our short break at The Nest surpassed expectations. - The Nest itself was charming and comfortable. The location was beautiful; close to nature, peaceful, and an eye-opening change from our usual Essex surroundings. We loved the garden and access to the delightful riverbank. Trips out offered memorable and varied Somerset visits. Thank you! The only thing we didn't like was having to leave!
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay very peaceful. Loved sunsets.
- Sally (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathy (8/5): It was a beautiful location, well equipped and thought through with access to the Somerset Levels in a special way - Beautifully equipped and lovely location The owners were out at work but I’m not sure how it would be with privacy for them and for guests if they’d been around more
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional - The Nest is a lovely cosy home, surrounded by a beautiful garden. Such a peaceful, relaxing place, with friendly hosts who are more than willing to help should you need them and happy for you to make use of the garden facilities to relax. There wasn't anything we didn't like.
Everything was provided to make our stay a comfortable one. From towels and bedding to biscuits, eggs milk tea and coffee.
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Miranda (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful accommodation, very tastefully decorated throughout with a lovely garden and backed on to the river which you could walk along for miles. 10 minute walk along the river to the local pub which was excellent and dog friendly. We took our two dogs and it was perfect for them. Liked everything. Couldn't fault a thing.
- Dawson (7/5): Good -
- Lesley (10/5): My stay was just how I wanted it to be. I was comfortable, it was quiet and I had everything I needed. - The location was exceptional, it was clean and spacious with good facilities.
- Jon (9/5): Superb - Spacious, lovely decor, warm with lovely wild birds feeding in the garden. Water pressure in shower.
- Jeanette (10/5): A joy. Thank you x - Beautiful location.
Thoughtful aspects that made the stay special, eg. eggs, milk, logs and fire lighters, games, use of air fryer…. to name only a few.
Woodburner and tv in different rooms meant we kept extra warm and played the games supplied rather than staring at the tv.
Warm duvets.
Beautiful decor. Nothing. Everything thought of and more.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation is a charming shed/outhouse conversion. Also the King Alfred pub (5 to 10 mins walking distance) serves excellent food and drink.
- Helen (10/5): Boxing Day stay - Loved everything about our stay and property. Owners are lovely and beyond helpful. I accidently left my diamond earrings in the property. Nic and Hannah offered to post them with no second thought or care of cost to them. They have two dogs themselves which they take out to the rear of the property for toileting which leaves the whole garden for our dog to wander and toilet without the worry of meeting other dogs. It is lovely to be able to leave our dog in the property as many do not allow this.
The property is dog friendly from a senior dog or mobility issue point of view. Just one step into the property and one step inside to go between the garden view room through the kitchen and into the TV snug.
The bed is very comfortable. Nice and warm in the property....we arrived Boxing Day.
We will definitely be staying here again. Thank you both for being so welcoming and leaving welcome goodies for us and our dog. We are both 6 foot tall and had to bend down when standing in the bath to have a shower. This is so minor though, it wouldn't stop us booking again. It is an old building with lower ceilings.
- Andrew (9/5): A truly beautiful Somerset gem! - There is almost nothing not to like!
Fresh flowers & chocolate biscuits are just 2 of several nice touches.
An all round lovely, warm & comfortable place. The addition of a curtain in the room where the wood burning stove resides is the only thing I'd suggest.
If I was here as part of a v much in love couple, this added privacy would be lovely! : )
- Tor (10/5): Wonderful views, wonderful hosts & wonderful stay! - Absolutely loved our stay, we were attending a wedding which was only 10 minutes away and we were gutted we couldn’t spend more time at the cottage because of how peaceful and beautiful it was! We will definitely be back to enjoy it to its full extent
- Melanie (10/5): A beautiful oasis of tranquility! - A beautiful property, very spacious and clean . Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): The Perfect Place To Celebrate Our Wedding Anniversary! - We loved The Nest's spacious, immaculately furnished garden room, which looks out over a very pretty garden. Nic and Han were exceptional hosts, with great attention to detail, who made us feel extremely welcome and relaxed at their adorable property. We were really pleased with the rural, peaceful location of the property, which allows access straight out onto the Somerset Levels. On our return to The Nest following walks and cycle rides to explore this beautiful area, we enjoyed relaxing on the decking to the rear of the property and enjoying the incredible countryside views.
- Michelle (10/5): A lovely place to stay in the countryside - A picturesque location with a lovely garden and well equipped place, it has 2 living rooms, a kitchenette, bathroom and bedroom and more than comfortable for a few days stay, the host is lovely and accommodating and pets are most welcome.
The local pub is also very friendly and does lovely food. No negatives at all about the property, any questions were quickly answered when asked.
- Norman (9/5): relaxing and enjoyable - breakfast not applicable. Location great, property situated in a quiet spot surrounded by the beautiful Somerset Levels.
- Brown (10/5): An amazing and relaxing short stay before we headed to glasto - the house was beautiful and the gardens were gorgeous. it's right next to the river and we had dinner one evening there. We loved the fresh eggs and snacks that the hosts left us! The nest is spacious, comfy and clean. Everything feels brand new and it was spotless when we arrived. The beds are extremely comfy. The doors opening out on to the garden were an amazing treat and the countryside views are beautiful. It was a great base to go for walks, and we enjoyed sunbathing in the garden. The hosts were at work most days so we felt like we had the place to ourselves, but when we did meet them they were welcoming and warm and gave us some great tips for the local area. We loved the local pub too! nothing! It was absolutely perfect. we didn't want to leave. We will definitely be back.
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nikkiwoo (10/5): Pretty annexe with fabulous view of gardens - Quiet, country location.
Off road parking.
Clean, comfortable annexe
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (10/5): Absolutely fantastic! - Fabulous location, peaceful and relaxing. The Nest is beautifully decorated and the garden room was a bonus as I hadn’t realised there was a separate lounge with a sofa bed (next time I won’t bring our sons travel bed!) The Nest had everything we needed and some little treats after a long journey were fab! My only criticism was that we didn’t stay long enough! But I know for next time to stay a little longer and enjoy more of the local walks and sights!
- Dallyn (10/5): Beautiful peaceful and homely - The walks around the area are beautiful and its somewhere we could go where we could take two dogs and enjoy a peaceful break, the owners are lovely and really felt welcoming. The place is literally surrounded by beauty and the birds in the garden just add to the peacefulness. The cottage is beautifully done and the towels and bedding given are amazing. This is somewhere where you could have fun all throughout the year, if i could rate this place higher i would, and would certainly return :-) my only suggestion would be to have maybe some board games at the property or take your own so that you have something to do in the evening with family and friends
- Valerye (8/5): amazing location in the middle of nature very quiet and peaceful - location was amazing the bed was too hard and i could not sleep more than a couple of hours each night as i could not get comfortable but others who like such a firm bed would be very happy
- Chloe (9/5): A very comfortable stay but with children I think we needed a bigger kitchen! - Location was lovely. Lots of beautiful walks and the property was fantastic. Very comfortable. The size of the kitchen. Having to change the stove for the microwave for the fryer.
- Sharon (10/5): Great - Loved the quiet location and surroundings lots of nice walks and scenery on your doorstep and wasn't to far to travel to by car to local areas (Wells being one we loved) the Nest accommodation was fab, clean, nicely decorated and the hosts were happy to give extra bits if needed ie, dog towels. Would recommend if your looking for a quiet relaxed and chilled break away 😁 thanks Nic and Hannah from Adrian and Mel April 23
- Philip (9/5): Most pleasant - N/A
