Guest Reviews
- Vernon (10/5): Great - Everything was a joy
- Teemu (10/5): -
- Lilibet (3/5): Overall it was ok since it was close to all restaurants and ferry ride. Not coming back though. - Close to the beach and walking distance to everything A little dusty. Needed to wipe down surfaces and towels had black spots. Charging cellphones and iPad was a challenged since the outlets were either loose or not working. We needed to unplugged microwave/fridge/tv to use the working outlet. It also tripped the outlet at the bathroom. No pool available since it was under construction. But no working staff noted doing the repairs. Needed to use the next door hotel pool if we wanted to enjoy the pool.
- Tom (6/5): -
- Joanne (4/5): - Well they didn't have breakfast and they barely had a coffee pot in the office. The view was AMAZING Mattress were stiff as board and for 150 bucks a night I'd like to at least be comfortable. They have a balcony but there's nothing to sit on
- Tara (6/5): - Staff was very nice in the office Lack of towels and toliet paper we were able to get in a timely manner. Would kg been nice if your Waterpark was open. We did go to one kf the other ones. The bed/pillows were not the best.
- Jamie (8/5): -
- NIKHIL REDDY (8/5): -
- marie (10/5): Over all we had a wonderful stay will be back - The view was amazing The beds could use updating and the TV was to tiny for the room
- Dave (3/5): - The waterpark and sauna were shut down and the pool was filthy.
- MAREK (5/5): One night stay for $185 ( October) is little too expensive. - Good location. Nice lake view. Hallway and stairways are dirty ( a lots of leaves). Bathroom was not clean up of this time.
- Kendall (10/5): -
- Lalone (5/5): - We had alot of sex, the beds are good Ehh nothing really
- Emma (1/5): So gross. Stained sheets, ripped screens, sandy floors. Not recommended. When we told front desk she said “oh thats real - location and beachfront So gross. Stained sheets, ripped screens, sandy floors. Not recommended. Booked three rooms. All of them disgusting . Stains on bed, hair in bath tub. Screen was ripped open, sand on floor. When we told front desk she said “oh thats really unfortunate looks like the room didn’t get cleaned” and didnt help us at all
- Ramon (8/5): -
- Karrar (8/5): - Everything was really good and clean the lake view was very nice but the only thing I would say there is no elevators to the third or second floor. Which was very tiring having to go up the third floor with a big bag and kids and no elevator. But overall, the stay was great No elevators to the second or third floor
- Laura (1/5): The room was very nasty. I would not stay there again. The sheets were dirty. The bathroom wasn’t clean. I left the room - Water only Water only
- Wilmer Abad (10/5): Nice view - Beach view! Beautiful!
- Ronald (8/5): -
- Cassandra (2/5): - Waking up to the waterfront room Bathroom was not clean had hair and stains on the back of the door, the TV did not work other than to turn off and on and up and down. They say they have a water park they do but it's closed down you have to go 4 hotels down, and online it states they have a hot breakfast and they didn't have any breakfast.
- Ryan (8/5): -
- Bobbiejo (7/5): - Water park wasn't open
- Scott (7/5): - Beachfront Old furnishings, no elevator

- Emily (1/5): Needs a lot of work to be a place I would recommend sleeping. - Beach location and nice sandy spot, good view Old, not well maintained, rooms had sticky floors, fridge was old and not well maintained and sticky, bathroom had mold behind the toilet tank, floors had stained and dirty grout, and areas where shower patches in drywall were breaking. Beds were awful, like metal springs on really old mattresses and no support. And at 4:00 AM a high pitched beep began and didn’t shut off til after 6:00.
- Kelly (9/5): Comfortable and relaxed - Wonderful lakefront location No issues at all
- Travis (6/5): Pleasant - Nice new rooms, and nice view Showers were low pressure and leaky toms if flys in room. Overall not bad
- Stefanie (5/5): Passable - Beach front Cleanliness
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Isaac (5/5): Passable -
- Murphy (3/5): Poor -
- Shields (3/5): The beach area was very dirty - The floor in our room was very dirty, as was the door to our balcony. The pool was dirty too.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good -
- Norine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (7/5): Was good for most part , beds were very comfortable. - The view was awesome No wash clothes in room. No staff at hotel had to go to another hotel to get key .
- Ashley (4/5): Disappointing - Surprised with an upgraded room beach front. Gnats coming from bathroom sink really bad and the balcony door would not lock. Also our dead bolt on front door wouldn’t lock.
- Greg (9/5): Perfect distance from the start of the Bridge Walk. - The beach view. Beach access.s o perfect The water pressure in the shower was terrible. I felt like I was being drooled on. horrible
- Cooke (8/5): Will diffently return next year. - The staff was 5 star ✨ young lady at desk made sure my family's stay was excellent. Thank you N/A
- Luis (8/5): Great location and good sized room. - The location was perfect and the lakefront room was spacious and for our needs. The restroom needed to be cleaned better and curtain rod for bathtub was rusty.
- Aleah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Christina (8/5): Very good - Na Wish there was a hot tub
- Robert (7/5): Enjoyable. - Location was great, right on the beach. Close to town. Some upgrading is still needed but they are working on it.
- Carla (8/5): It’s ok and a comfortable place to sleep with a good beach location. - The balcony with a view of the lake Some things needed some updates. For instance the plug in the bathroom … one of the sockets looked burnt, the shower rod was rusted and the fan in the bathroom did not work.
- Julia (4/5): All in all it was cozy but not a place for younger children or children with autism or special needs - They look cozy until you sleep there and start getting comfortable There was still some previous trash left in our room from other occupants, water park equipment was damaged and unsafe plus water was extremely cold and cloudy. Beach wasn’t very sanitary either found tons of broken glass.
- Theresa (1/5): Bad - The view in previous stays here in the city...
The cancelation process is ridiculous.. I have a child in the hospital from an accident and I couldn't leave them alone there. I'm a single mother of three children and I'm on limited income. This was supposed to be our end of summer trip. I saved for three mths to bring my girls to visit their peaceful destination . After I learned I was locked into the night stay, I was immediately sadden. Then I realized I not only had a broken heart, but my children will now as well. I CAN'T afford to take them anywhere now. My kid had an emergency and had to go to the hospital. I can't change that I have no control over that situation... why In this case do I have to bite the bullet and suffer. The hotel would not even let me move my stay to another date.
This is the worst experience I've had coming to Mackinaw City and well I know I'll never consider even staying here again!. See previous statement.
- Erin (3/5): Did the job for one night of sleep but I wouldn’t go back - Newer remodel, on the beach, good location and water park Beds were extremely uncomfortable and we woke up to water pouring through our bathroom ceiling
- Emma (5/5): Passable - Beautiful View The outlets BARELY held our chargers and chords in. The door knob was nearly half way pulled out which seemed a bit sketchy. Sandy floors when we arrived.
- Kunal (4/5): Disappointing -
- Diana (3/5): Poor -
- Kristen (8/5): Very good - Loved the location, and staff clean room The Waterpark and pool could use some updating
Bathrooms at Waterpark were falling apart and dirty
Pool was full of sand and so was the hot tub
- Lindsay (8/5): Great stay! - Great location, close to everything, newly renovated We were on the top floor and there are no elevators, so if you have trouble climbing stairs, just know to request something in the lower floors.
- Aleem (8/5): Very good -
- Mulhem (7/5): It was a pleasant stay and great to stay with friends, but checking in early and building cleanliness were small issues. - On the beach, price was low for my group of friends, campfires were out on the beach for s’mores. Plenty of chairs on the beach to sit and chill. Staff members were super nice and fun to talk to. We arrived early (12:30pm) but could not check in til 3:45pm. Requests for towels take a long time so it’s better to find the maids at the storage room and ask for towels. We asked staff to clean our room but they never cleaned our room that day. There is a phone in the room but no paper or book to tell you the number to call the front desk, you are better off calling from your own phones. There were also no markings on which bin was the clean or dirty towels in the hot tub and water park room. These comments aren’t super negative, just small inconveniences.
- Barish (2/5): See comment above do not recommend this hotel - We could walk right out the back patio to the beach The fact that there was only one trash can in the whole room. The beds were both old and so uncomfortable, the pillows were so thin I couldn’t sleep the two nights I was there the room smelt like wood because they just re did it. The tv was so small we couldn’t see it when we were laying down. We stayed two nights for our family vacation and I called to see if they wouldn’t mind coming down to bring us towels and vacuum our room. The lady came down within a half an hour with towels handed them to me and stood there with the vacuum and said here you go and I said you’re not going to vacuum she said no and I had to literally vacuum our room and she said to leave the vacuum outside the room when I’m done. Also when we went to the hotel pool it was so hot it was one big hot tub. Do not recommend this hotel at all
- Caleb (2/5): Hotel isn’t worth it. - Location My stay at this hotel was the worst I’ve ever experienced. While the location is conveniently close to downtown Mackinaw City, the beach was littered with beer bottle caps, glass, plastic cups, and other trash, suggesting it’s never cleaned.
Upon checking in, we brought our luggage to the room and changed into comfortable clothes before heading downtown. In the middle of my wife changing, another couple walked in because the front office had mistakenly given them the same room and key. This was extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable.
Additionally, the hotel has fewer parking spaces than rooms, so if you don’t arrive early, you may not find a spot. Our room had black spots on the floor, which I hope weren’t mold. The wall art had cracked glass, and the door handle was loose. These issues might be expected at a cheap motel, but for $200 a night, it’s shocking that this place is still in business.
- Kimberly (4/5): Convenient to ferry to the island. - Beachfront balcony The smell of the room.
- David (7/5): Good -
- Heather (7/5): Good - Room was recently renovated while wood paneling and smelled of fresh wood. Very pretty. Lake view was amazing. No elevator to get to the third floor.
- Brian (7/5): I'd probably give them a second chance. - Bed was comfortable and the room was large enough to meet my needs. The view from the balcony was fantastic. There were shoes under the bed, trash behind the bedside table along with a number of dead bugs. That was pretty gross.
- Alexandra (1/5): Bad - Great location Room was dirty. McDonald's cups, old pop spills and trash under bed. No fitted sheets on the bed. Asked to discuss with manager and was told there was nothing they could do because they weren't there. I will never go back.
- Rea (1/5): It was a terrible experience both the rooms and staff. Manager and staff had attitudes. - None After I booked in booking.com, I requested for no carpeted room because I like the pictures without the carpet easier for me to glide my dad who’s a handicap and wheelchair bound. I also requested for it to be on the ground floor. They responded and agreed that they can accommodate my request. When I finally got to the hotel, as soon as I entered the 2 rooms I booked that were connected to each other, I certainly got the ground floor but it was carpeted. The carpets had a lot of sand specially by the door, carpets were dark dirty, the rooms were dark even with the table and floor lamps being on. The phones were old like from the 90’s, visible dusts on the phone, and not working at all for both room. I complained about that but no one came to check on it. The window seals had a lot of dead bugs that were trap from spider webs. Dead bugs on the ceiling and towels. The room smells old and musty. The brown blankets smells. It has odor smell to it. Small bugs crawling on my dad’s blanket. When I turned around to grab my phone to take a picture of it, it was gone. There was a fly buzzing. Therefore it was a terrible night. I couldn’t sleep. I felt itchy and dirty. Despite all of this, my main concern was the bathroom. The small tiles on the floor made it slippery for my dad to walk on. My kids had to help me with my dad whenever he used the bathroom at night. He almost fell. I tried complaining but they told me it is not refundable and to call the corporate. However, my complaint was that the advertisement was misleading. I rented rooms from this hotel because the pictures were nice wood floor and clean but I was told there is no wood floor in the hotel and that all rooms are carpeted.
I rented for 2 nights $779 total. We checked out after the first night and they would not do a partial refund. They offered a different hotel nearby with wheelchair accessible but by this time my kids lost interest and just wanted to go home after this hotel experience.
- Brinda (1/5): Bad - Nothing at all No cleanliness, we had to tell to vacuum again, and sink keeps clogging. It was the same even after we requested to fix it. It was too much expensive and for nothing.
- Michelle (7/5): Comfy but Half A** finished rooms - Location, always lol! The rooms looked brand new, you could smell the finish of the wood and it was SO comfy! One of our beds was used and never changed, NO MICROWAVE, NO TOILET PAPER BAR, DIDNT GIVE US A ICE BAG. When we asked for a microwave, we were told by staff that "none of the rooms have them" and to their surprise, I said "The other two rooms we have DO have microwaves!" They said they'd get back to us, but no, we ended up having to use another rooms microwave!
- Stacy (6/5): It was a nice stay! - Proximity to downtown and we could have our dog. The pool wasn’t functional and the one next door that we could use was disgusting. We got locked in our room, the door handle broke. They got it fixed quickly and were super helpful during the process.
- Mains (5/5): Over promising with the web site, under delivering in reality - Location They changed my room and put me next to the stairs- no elevator and construction work going on the floor above me
- Schmidt (6/5): It was good - I only stayed one night but was charged for two nights.
- Larry (8/5): Very good -
- Cheryl (5/5): Rooms were clean. Beach was unkept and lounge chairs broken. We went for pool and waterpark neither were working even a - It was on the beach but beach was unkept and lounge chairs broken It advertised a pool and water park neither were working. And hadn’t been for some time. We took grandchildren there specifically for that.
- Nicholas (1/5): Bad -
- Chris (2/5): Location was good, room was not! - They are trying to clean it up and make it nice. Good location. Bugs in the room/beds, mold in the bathroom, dirty, not cleaned well at all. Seems to be installing pine walls just to cover up old walls, but didn’t clean or finish before we stayed.
- Chertoya (7/5): Good -
- Chertoya (7/5): Good -
- Whitney (4/5): Disappointing -
- Tom (7/5): Right location and right price - The beachfront location was a very nice feature. We were able to walk to the ferry and point downtown. The property was not great condition. They are undergoing renovations on the property and waterpark and should better in the future.
- Ted (4/5): Mistake - location Stayed two days. Pool and ice machine were out of service. Did not know that beforehand. Had to walk from the first floor to the fourth floor for ice. Bed frame was busted. Hot water had been turned off for the sink. Bathroom fan did not work. Maid did not remove the wet towels or pick up the trash from the two waste baskets.
- Amelia (10/5): Exceptional - My family and I had an amazing time here. The trip itself was last minute, but everything we could’ve hoped for. When we checked in, the staff was very friendly and helped to give some information on what activities we could do with the kids. The recommendations were all things that my family enjoyed doing. The hotel room was clean and looked brand new. I especially enjoyed being right on the water. We can’t wait to come again!
- Ali (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sandra (1/5): We did not end up staying and had to get another room for the night. - We didn’t stay. The property is not as promised. The whole thing was under construction. It was 8:30 PM at night and they were still doing construction on the room directly above our room. Our room was recently renovated, but the offgassing from the walls and floor was so bad that we could not stay. There was lumber and work materials everywhere on the property, including by our rooms where we had to walk to get into them.
- Skyler (5/5): Passable - Hotel was very close to star line ferry. About a 5 minute walk (less if you take the beach)
Friendly staff
No bed bugs
Good view Construction on hotel when we arrived. Address was different in person than online and the pictures are of the back side of the hotel facing the beach making it very hard to find. Also looked a little run down and with the Construction going on we weren't even sure if it was an operating hotel. Room was outdated, everything including mini fridge was unplugged. Took about 10 hours for the fridge to start getting cold. Hotel advertises pool and water park, until you get there. Had to go back to ask about pool and Waterpark passes only to find out we had to go to one of 2 other hotels, fill out waivers at their front desk and then we would have access to their pool and etc. Felt so weird and inconvenient with our 2 year old that we opted for the beack front instead, and never touched a pool for our whole 3 day stay. Beachfront looks nice until you get down there and see it's also neglected. Unused fire pit full of water and breeding mosquitos, dilapidated chairs, and plenty of goose poop to go around. We had to CLEAN THE SAND for our daughter to play in. Tv didn't work for the first 24 hours. Coffee pot wasn't clean. Beds are old spring mattresses with a mattress pad on top.
- Traci (10/5): Absolutely amazing! - Everything The work from the painters.they didn't paint the bathroom all the way.also the painters obviously cleaned out their paint brushes in the bathroom sink and didn't clean up the mess so there was paint all over the sink.i 100 percent feel bad for the owners that had to pay the painters for not a very good job
- Akhila (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (10/5): Had a great stay with my family while staying in our lakefront room! - The view was exceptional from my room with a very clean beach. My kids had a great time swimming where we could still watch them from our balcony. The room itself was very clean and looked brand new with enough space for my entire family. In addition to this, the lady at the front desk was extremely nice and went out of her way to recommend us to a variety of activities and restaurants in town. Highly recommend and will be back soon!
- Darseo (10/5): This hotel has it all and is now my permanent hotel for mackinaw city. - The hotel was right in the city and in walking distance to the ferry liners. The property was very clean and the staff was very accommodating. The room lead right to the beach. And the indoor waterpark was a blast for the kids. We will probably stay here again next year or for the 4th.
- Ahmad (1/5): Honestly, nasty - Bad service, cleanliness, worst employees, tons of mosquitoes inside the room, I have never seen a pillow with rust on it before. View only nothing else
