• Joanne (10/5): Excellent - Area is located by the beach. We liked that the owner stays in the area and she was very nice and gracious. The power outage which only lasted 5-10 mins but that was beyond their control. They do have a generator in case outage lasted more than 30 mins.

• Kristele (10/5): - My family and I absolutely loved the hosts - Edgar and Miriam. The place was immaculately clean and the location was superb! They really made us feel comfortable during our stay, that we forgot we were away at some point (we were that comfortable!!). Our hosts were incredibly friendly and we would definitely go back. The place was family friendly and “barkada” friendly. It was near the beach (5mins walk) and local market for fresh seafoods. The house was complete with everything that we needed (plates, towels, cooking supplies, etc). And if we needed extra bits like condiments, the market was super close so it really was not a bother. The rooms are spacious and everything was perfect upon arrival until upon checkout. Thanks Edgar and Miriam! We really enjoyed our stay. We would definitely go back! - love from Ireland 🇮🇪 Nothing

• Pau (10/5): Best staycation I had so far! - Highly recommend this Elyu stay! Owners are super kind (even gave us pasalubong), budget-friendly yet complete, and just 2–3 mins from a quiet beach. They lent us chairs and let us pick malunggay for tinola. Truly a hidden gem—we’ll definitely be back! ❤️

The amenities are complete and thoughtfully provided, especially for longer stays. It’s located on the quieter side of San Juan, yet still conveniently close to the beach and the public market. The hosts are very accommodating and welcoming, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I would definitely book this place again. Nothing to dislike.

All the good restaurants are max 10 mins away. The house was furnished and supplied with in such a detailed way that you will not be lacking in anything.Edgar is a perfect host who sincerely wish to please his guests, and he delivers! The location is perfect, just 3 mins walk from the beach but away from the crowded portion of San Juan. I didn't like that we only stayed for 1 night, we should have stayed longer.
• Portento (10/5): Overwhelming. Home away from home. - I didnt have high expectations when I booked the place. I was just after its price for 7pax. But boy, when we arrives, I instantly liked it and thought of booking another night. The host was very accommodating. Did a tour of the property, dos and donts. Overall stay was bau as the set up was easy to get. The rooms were clean, we had indoor slippers, 3 aircons for the whole property. Really worth it. Come check out time, the host knocked and gave us free pasalubong! He even offered us a free ride to the hiway. I highly recommend this place for everyone especially big fam or groups.

The house is as comfortable as possible - everything is convenient and beautiful, 300-400 meters away are shops and a daily market with a great selection of fresh and delicious products👌💚. The ocean and the beach are 100 meters away from the house. We walked, ate, and enjoyed spending time with kind and sincere people. We will be happy to return, and we will certainly miss you🫶

• Nica Mia Mari (10/5): Felt Like Home Away From Home - Our stay at EspilliNorte was truly wonderful. The place was very comfortable, complete with dining tools that made our meals easy to prepare, and the air-conditioning was a huge relief during the hot weather. What really stood out were the hosts, who were incredibly warm and accommodating. They even waited for us despite our very late arrival at 12:30am, welcomed us with fresh bread, and treated us to delicious tinolang manok on our second day—such thoughtful gestures that made us feel at home. The only downside was that we booked for only two nights; the space was so cozy and inviting that we wished we had stayed for a whole week.

The beach is not crowded, sand is fine and the water is clear! Excellent customer service. Host went over and beyond. Edgar and Mirriam are very warm and hospitable. This is sure to be one of tge best short term rental on top of our list. My son who is very much of a crtique loves the place , even left note in the guest board! We plan to come back soon! Edgar was a fantastic host, he looked after us really well, made sure we were comfortable, and gave us plenty of helpful information on where to go. The rooms were spacious, with tidy and comfortable beds. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed. The outside area was perfect for relaxing in the afternoon. The location is also ideal, close to both the beach and the town. Restaurants, a 7-Eleven, and an ATM were all within walking distance. I highly recommend this place! Nothing! This accommodation and host helped make our experience in La Union very enjoyable.

Nothing to complain about — everything was amazing! Even though it rained the whole time and we had to cancel some of our plans, the place more than made up for it. It was cozy, relaxing, and beautifully maintained. Edgar was incredibly accommodating from check-in to check-out, always making sure we were comfortable. The accommodation itself was spotless, spacious (was able to fit 6 of us comfortably), and beautifully decorated with a relaxing coastal vibe. The house had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, if not, more. The location is unbeatable, just 3-5 minutes walk to the beach and a few minutes away to the famous local spots. Edgar and Miriam were very warm and welcoming which made us feel at home right away. It felt like we met our old friends. We appreciate the tour of the house upon our arrival was also gifted with a lovely bread basket. If you're looking for a peaceful beach escape with the kind of host who treats you like a friend, this is the place to stay. We’ll definitely be returning and recommending it to everyone I know! None. We all wished we could’ve stayed there during our first night and even extend a few more days if we could.

We were welcomed with a tour, a basket of bread, and good resto recommendations ✨ Also, everything was so clean when we arrived so we felt so welcome. The common areas were nice and had board games to use. They also had foldable chairs that we were able to take with us to the beach, which was a few mins away on foot. Edgar also very kindly drove us to Urbiztondo one time, and was quick to refill our water when the dispenser ran out. We experienced such amazing hospitality!!! But yes, if you can stay here on your next La Union trip you won't regret it :) Super vouch ✨

The location of the accommodation was very close to the beach around 2 mins walk, quiet and beautiful neighbourhood. The place looks very cozy and homy. The place even looks better in person plus there is a place where you can park. I would definitely go back to this accommodation again if I have to visit La union in the future . • Hagelstein (10/5): Speechless.... But not at all - If you think it's a shame to visit the Philippines without seeing La Union, it's a shame to visit La Union without staying at Espilli Norte. My biggest regret was not staying even longer. Even though the location is amazing for chill beach time (TWO minutes walking), 15 minutes by tricycle away from a surfing spot, with all sorts of amenities, like chilling spots including games, kitchen appliances, gorgeous renovated bathroom, the real gem and star of the show are the hosts. Really, I read the reviews and knew we were in good hands but Sir Edgar really went above and beyond and blew away our expectations. Even took us with his own car to the beach spot to help us save some pesos. Comments from the other house guests include: - the cleanliness was top notch, the sheets smelled amazing - Everyone had a towel and more than we could ever need - The ACs were silent so our sensitive sleepers had amazing peaceful sleep - Came in to give us house slippers, and ma'am Miriam came in like a gorgeous goddess with fruits for us. They really have a talent at hosting and any of their friends are extremely lucky. Thank you so much for your kindness to the beautiful couple, Sir Edgar and Miriam. Love from Anna & Friends You could use all sorts of modern torture methods on me, we would not be able to find one thing we didn't enjoy. Maybe for the smokers the ashtray offered to us was absolutely too beautiful to defile with our toxic cigarette butts 🤷‍♂️ The beds were too comfortable it was hard to leave them in the mornings for activities

Sheets smelled good (my mom even asked what detergent they used), no funky odors anywhere in the house. The hosts were very hands on in the up keep of the place, but we still got our privacy which was very appreciated. It’s like a 2 minute walk from the beach, and probably a 10 minute walk from the public market, and is accessible to public transport as well. Everything was very accessible and still we were in a quiet neighborhood which we liked. Honestly, nothing.

The atmosphere is cozy, making it great for spending quality time with family and friends. One of the best parts is that the beach is just a 2-minute walk away, so we could easily enjoy the sun, sand, and sea anytime. The overall experience was comfortable and enjoyable. The hous has a very nice layout with a good shower a relax garden and everything you can need is availeble. The Wifi is also strong so you can work online. The owners are very helpfull and always willing to help you out with anything. everything was good.

The entire house was spotless, and the rooms were so spacious and comfortable. Plus, it was just a short, easy stroll to the beach.
• Romina (10/5): Exceptional - The place is spotless, very clean, and smelled pleasant. The hosts are friendly, thoughtful, and helpful. The location is ideal because it's a one minute walk to the beach, and it's in a street where there's a wide road. The road is not a busy thoroughfare, in fact, only the residents use it. And since it is not beach front property, you get the benefit or mild weather. While it's hot near the beach, Espllinorte is very cool and comfortable. There's a garden at the back with a barbecue pit, while there's a play area in front with board ganes, chess, scrabble, jengga, etc. There's a good restaurant nearby, and it's just a five minute walk from the property. .

• Gab (10/5): Best place to stay for a family vacation :) - 2 minute walk to the beach. Quiet residential area. Best place to stay for a family. The property is equipped with essentials for cooking. They also have toiletries and towels. Quite far from surfing schools and food stops but it was a good trade off for a quiet and peaceful area.
• Raids (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were very accomodating and friendly. The place was superb, offering a relaxing and calm place to relax. The beach is accessible, about 3-5 mins walk. Thank you sir Edgar and maam Miriam for the wonderful experience! We will definetly go back.

So happy to receive a welcome basket of fruits and Karaoke machine was available which made our stay more very enjoyable. The place we stayed was very relaxing and cozy and free wifi Nothing to say.
• Thomas (10/5): Amazing hosts and accommodation close to the beach, and not too far from bars and restaurants either - I'd like to personally thanks Edgar and Miriam who were the best hosts, living the dream! Edgar is very helpful and has great communication skills, is full of useful recommendations in La Union (or Elyu!), and very kindly taught me the basics of paddle boarding over a couple of mornings - this was particularly great I really recommend it if you have the opportunity. The accommodation is a very short walk - maybe a few minutes max - to the beach, and is extremely well equipped with more than everything you need. We were only two so the space was plenty big enough. All the furniture and fittings are good quality, well thought out, and well explained by the hosts. I would definitely stay here again due to the hosts and because it is one of the best places I've stayed in the Philippines. Nothing really stood out that could be improved.

The house itself is amazing, quiet area, air conditioners which also help to sleep comfortably - you can leave one in the kitchen so that you don't get a draft. Also, we both worked all week and it was super comfortable. We will definitely come back here again, but for a longer period

There’s also a games/outdoor room to chill in Directions to the property were also clear. Nothing in particular. If you’re being pedantic, be aware there’s powercuts now and then that affect this area (not just the property)

• Noel (9/5): Superb - The property is near the beach without the beachgoers' traffic, so it's perfect if you want to get some beach action without the crowds getting in the way; the place is big, clean, everything works and the hosts are very helpful and accommodating. They keep the place in excellent condition and volunteer to help you in any way, plus, they suggest stuff you tend to overlook. They're so kind, they even cooked dinner for us and had us over at their place. They also opened a new section of the property to accommodate our friends and brought us to the bus station. How great is that? You'll hear animal noises from the neighboring property (giant frogs apparently), but that also adds to the ambiance of the place.

The fast internet was a pleasant surprise, making it easy to stay connected when needed. The attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness is impeccable—everything from the towels to the glasses and utensils was spotless and readily available. One of the highlights of EsplliNorte is its location. It’s just a 2-3 minute walk to the beach, making it incredibly convenient to enjoy the sun and sea. Additionally, it’s situated near some of the area’s most famous restaurants, like The Lair and Kabsat, which makes dining out a breeze. If you're in search of a serene, well-kept, and perfectly located staycation spot that’s also great for families and pets, I highly recommend EsplliNorte. Edgar and Miriam have created a haven that feels like a home away from home. We can’t wait to return! Nothing!
