- Amma (9/5): Superb - The bed and bathroom super
- Clemence (1/5): Dirty place (pee, hair, dust, rust), flooded shower, disrespectful host – STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! - NOTHING unfortunately. I had to leave the property after one night as it was just not fit for purpose. I booked myself into another property which knew how to treat guests with respect and offer clean and comfortable rooms. Firstly, when I arrived it had pee on the toilet lid which I had to clean myself, the sink had bits in it, at night there were mosquitos which meant I couldn’t sleep. There were lots of other things wrong with the place: long curly, dark hair on the furniture, a TV which hadn't been set up so I used my phone to stream, rusty shower tray, there was an unplugged table lamp next to the bed on the floor as there was no table for it to sit on, to reach the lamp was impossible as it was underneath a sloping roof. I expected there to be a hob as it said the room came with a kitchen (the reason I chose this more expensive room) but there wasn’t, I couldn’t cook a simple meal like I expected to. Despite all this I initially thought I wouldn’t complain as I don't usually make a fuss.
However, in the morning when I took a short 5 minute shower the whole bathroom flooded with water running into the bedroom and the "kitchen" area which meant I spent half an hour mopping up all the water, then putting on the fan to dry it. I tried to find the owners but both the back door and entrance to their downstairs restaurant was locked. I was running late for an event because of this palaver and so ended up rushing out without even having breakfast.
I returned after my event to find the owners and showed them the video I had taken of the flooding. I told them I wasn’t willing to stay the second night. Straightaway the owner said that there was no problem with the room, and that if I complained he would just say that I threw water onto the ground myself on purpose. What an outrageously obnoxious comment from a host!
I asked him to check the issue for himself and as expected the water started running out the shower shortly after it was turned on. He insisted that if I complained to Booking, he would tell them I just decided to leave without any reason and would refuse a refund. Also, the host seems to sleep in any of the rooms when they're not occupied.
