- Nicole (9/5): Lovely hotel, a little out of the way, but we would stay there again - Lovely hotel, the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We paid extra and upgraded to a suite, which was lovely with sea views; we were really glad that we paid the extra. Evening meals were a mixture of buffet and à la carte. I enjoyed my meals, but my husband not as much. Breakfast was excellent. Bed was huge and very comfortable. Staff were lovely, with the exception of one. One waiter was superb and was training a young girl, I didn't catch his name but he was exceptional and I told him so! Pool was great and there are plenty of sunbeds. I saw a review mentioning getting sea shoes, so glad that we saw that, it's a must, the sand can have tiny sharp shells and there are spiky sea urchins in the sea that you definitely don't want to step on! Cheap and cheerful will do trick. We would absolutely stay here again, but it is a little out of the way. It is 90 minutes from the airport and Stone Town and a little out of the way, so everything requires a taxi.
- Sander (8/5): - Ligging aan het strand. De Afrikaanse sfeer.
- Tatyana (10/5): -
- M (9/5): Zeer relaxed allemaal - De rust
De wind
Het fruit Echt zwemmen in de oceaan was geen optie
- Martin (10/5): Wunderbarer Aufenthalt in einem erstklassigen Hotel - Tolles Hotel! Schöne Lage am Strand. Sehr ruhig. Extrem freundliches Personal.
- Stephen (9/5): Very relaxing in a beautiful resort - Very relaxed feel, beautiful location, attentive staff
Not pestered on the beach Due to the coral reef, you could only swim in the sea at high tide
Minor gripe about the standard coffee for breakfast.
- Rioolrat (8/5): - Big nice pool Prices of fingerfoods and drinks
- Rioolrat (8/5): Nice hotel. Recommendable👌 - Large nice swimming pool Not much choice in small bites at the pool and also expensive food.
- Yelena (9/5): - מלון יפה, שירות טוב, אוכל מצוין המזגן באחד החדרים לא עבד טוב
- David (9/5): very relaxing and a good place to recharge the batteries - Beautiful location and wonderful staff
- Rashda (10/5): Nice - Staff were so lovely especially Lucas at the restaurant who really went out of his way to check in on us every meal we had. Upon check in no brief was given as to where facilities were in the hotel or what was available to us. We didn’t know there was a happy hour or welcome drink. Disappointed that information about the hotel wasn’t shared. To do the reef walk we needed to hire water shoes and was told by a local who was walking past where the hut was.
- Philip (9/5): - Lunch time options limited and could be more varied

- Alex (10/5): Perfection. There for our honeymoon. Friendliest service, utterly beautiful setting, comfiest bed and big room, amazing - Absolutely beautiful setting, immaculately clean, incredibly comfy, hugely relaxing with amazing service Not one thing I would change
- Gweneth (9/5): A little corner of Paradise on the eastern coast of Zanzibar where time stands still! - The location, the gardens, the beach, and most of all the staff, who were fantastic! Nothing
- Louise (9/5): Would definitely recommend - Tidiness/Cleanliness - garden areas constantly being tended by staff.
Good size clean pool
Plenty sunloungers
Biggish property for number of rooms so plenty of room
Staff friendly/professional
Fortunate to receive free upgrade to 2 bed villa/suite
Food good
Beach cleared of seaweed
Security - no one hassling you on beach There’s nothing else around so pretty much stayed at resort, except for 5 minute trip away for snorkelling trip, which ok for 4 nights but wouldn’t want much longer. Found Zanzibar away from resort unattractive as so much rubbish esp plastic everywhere, that’s not hotels fault but disappointing.
- Aldin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aldin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - It was the perfect place to relax after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro - great hospitality and enough to do to keep us entertained NA
- Akwasi (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly staff Nothing in particular
- Myrthe (9/5): Very relaxed stay - Super friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere No restaurants or bars near the resort
- Enrique (7/5): Good - Great food The resort lacks facilities and entertainment for a 5 star resort. After dinner there is not much you can do
- Bonita (7/5): Every employee deserves recognition - Had a beautiful birthday cake
The Staff was the best and most Welcoming
Mtwana was so nice as well as all the other staff every time they saw me. Highly recommended for People of color. There wasn’t water working my first day and sometimes the power goes out across the island but usually is immediately restored within minutes. Be more forth coming during dinner about the cost of things regarding drinks.
- Stirling (8/5): A beautiful place to stay for a few days if your looking for white sand and sunshine with lovely service - Very friendly staff Music a little old fashioned
- Anthony (9/5): Superb -
- Haneen (9/5): Superb -
- Stella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diego (9/5): Premium stay - It is a super nice property , full of details
and good food It is not the cheapest but we think is a good value
- Nadia (10/5): A relaxing serene resort. With everything you need - Beautiful serene resort , beach access, big bedroom with porch. Spacious bathroom . I enjoyed my stay very much . And the staff , hotel manager and restaurant manager were very accommodating. I would definitely recommend if you ever plan a trip to Zanzibar. They provided live band entertainment nightly during dinner. & they offered a wide variety of options for food.
- Avalon (8/5): Recommend for quite romantic stay - Lovely staff and pool area with excellent food varied each night. The rooms have very small bathrooms and while the beach is lovely at high tide it does recede a long way. This is a very quiet stretch of coast with practically no hawkers or harassment but this also means limited restaurant and entertainment options See above
- Ergo (9/5): Satisfied! Staff was just super and all the experience very nice as allways. -
- Claes (8/5): Very good -
- Josefin (9/5): Wonderful getaway from the winter - Privacy, attentive staff, clean area, spacious beach, great room (best bed I’ve ever slept in) Although it’s illegal but there are people trying to sell you stuff at the beach (but the hotel’s security was always quick to send them away!)
- Gulamabbas (8/5): Very good -
- Sachin (9/5): Superb -
- Vandhana (5/5): Passable -
- Hards (10/5): An enjoyable escape to a tropical island paradise - We had a wonderful welcome. The food was tasty and plentiful considerably better than we expected. Beautiful beaches. Fun evening entertainment. Some of the musical instruments were out of tune.
- Etoilebrilliant (9/5): Superb -
- Betül (10/5): Great place to stay - Big clean rooms, great stuff, great architectural deslgn . Happy with the service I got as well
- Karen (9/5): Peaceful stay in a beautiful property on a wonderful beach - It is very well managed and maintained. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. Bedrooms are well equipped with everything I needed, huge comfy bed and serviced twice daily. The staff are very friendly and courteous. I loved the fact the beach is unspoiled and natural and the property is situated right beside the ocean. The swimming pool is lovely for when the tide is out, large enough to actually swim in. It feels very safe, with round the clock security. Food is plentiful with good variety. Nothing. An improvement for me would be black out curtains and a blackout blind over bedroom door.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were so lovely and always asking if they could do anything for us. Hotel a bit of a trek to anywhere although personally I quite liked this ...
- Paul (10/5): Place to loose yourself in - Already on arrival we were blown away by the staff and their amazing friendliness and attentivness. They made us feel very special.
The design and furnishing of all areas is a treat to all senses from the beautiful woodwork to the brass details capturing the light to the lush gardens. It's a place you can totally relax at and loose yourself in.
- Klemen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carolyn (9/5): Wonderful resort, very relaxing, high quality experience, great staff, lovely food and gorgeous beach - Beautiful gardens, lovely pool, great food and amazing staff No complaints
- Marilyn (8/5): Very good - Clean. Secure. Nice grounds. Comfortable bed. Pretty.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sabrina (9/5): Excellent hôtel with beautiful facilities and delightful food - The facilities were beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff was very helpful (especially Liz). I had an amazing massage and my husband was very pleased with the tennis class that he took with godfried. I was disappointed with the gym which is small, dark and with old equipments.
- Rayinz (8/5): Was a little paradise stay. Nice staff good food. - Cozy rooms and lovely staff
- Nicola (10/5): Relaxing resort in stunning location. Hotel cannot be faulted . - Location on beautiful beach. White sand. African style and in top notch condition. Variety of dinners and staff were super helpful. Not many other restaurant options nearby but really you don’t need to leave hotel. Road to hotel from airport is very bumpy.
- Mai (10/5): Exceptional -
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel turned out to be even better than in the description on booking.com. The staff was fantastic, very helpful, they took care of even the smallest request. On my birthday, I got a wonderful surprise from the staff, a cake and singing 🥹💓. Everything was perfect. The route from and to the airport is quite long and a bit tiring, it takes almost 2 hours
- Avb7481 (10/5): Exceptional - We had such an amazing time during our stay at this resort. The hotel manager, F&B manager, and all staff were welcoming and treated by so well. Celebrated my birthday at the resort, and they make me feel so special. Thank you so much! We are very grateful to everyone for going out of their way to make us feel at home while away from home. Your care and consideration were sincerely appreciated. It's definitely a wonderful place to stay. -
- Keith (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kristoffer (9/5): Superb -
- Dawn (7/5): Good -
- Josef (10/5): Five star stay! - Absolutely best staff ever, everybody supernice and professional. Thank you, Andrea, Eva, Lighting, Richard, Seth, MTuana and all others! All these people made the difference. Beautiful seaview room no 10, paradise gardens, lovely spa, early check in. Tasteful dinner entertainment. Food and drinks at pool bar (great grilled fish even on kids menu), dinners absolutely delicious (local, fish, bbq, salads, samosas, anything you can think of, all best quality). Everything perfect.
- Thato (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aziz (9/5): must stay if you’re going to east of Zanzibar - - Staff was very hospitable and are always on top of things to make my stay as comfortable as possible
- Great Spa and wellness center
- breakfast
- caught a mahi mahi during a fishing trip, went straight to the chef to ask him if he can cook it for me. within an hour, he made a three course meal out of the fish (compliments to the chef)
- Pool area was nice and comfy but wished the pool had pool bar to enjoy drinks while on the water.
- The hotel is well taken care of in terms of landscaping and cleanliness - The room seems to be a bit outdated
- No TV in the room
- Internet is a bit weak in some areas of the room
- Ming (1/5): It's really too bad - The service was terrible,
1)The phone number on Google Map didn't work.
2)Nobody told me I was not supposed to wear shorts for dinner when I checked in. While I wasn't aware of this, their staff yelled at me. The manager even scolded me. I was simply trying to enjoy my holiday!!! Zanzibar is very hot in December and I think it's totally reasonable to wear shorts. If you want to act like a three-star Michelin restaurant please improve your service at least.
3) There was a live band for dinner. The music was very good, but the sound system was so bad that it sounded like a disaster.
In short, poor accomodation, terrible management, a swaggering face as if we owe them money. Pls do not come and stay here. Other hotels at the same price will give you a much better service.
Unfriendly to Booking’s customers.
- Gaston (9/5): Our stay was memorable and I recommend it to everyone wishing to visit Zanzibar!. - The property is awesomely good, the food and staff were superb Delicious food and welcoming staff!.
- Lukasz (1/5): Disaster… :-( - I’m afraid nothing except the staff that tried their best. Seriously awful property for European middle class. The hotel had zero taste, lousy facility that did not work anyway. Extremely boring. Waste of money.
- Fiona (7/5): Good -
- Dawn (8/5): A relaxing get away from Dar - could not fault the property., staff, service, facilities if you are looking for crystal clear ocean on the shoreline Bwejuu is not the place for you. Thick seaweed can be found from the waters edge until the reef drop off.
- Russell (10/5): An amazing 3 night break - Ali and the resort manager personally welcomed me and all the staffs were polite and attentiv - Very welcoming - genuinely interested and cared that their guests were in a good place. Food was amazing. Nothing.
- Maeve (10/5): Exceptional - Super friendly staff. V clean. Huge comfy bed. Massive breakfast and dinner buffets - high quality food Nothing
- Joe (6/5): Pleasant -
- Fariba (10/5): we spent a magical week at Zanzibar in family and will remember it forever thanks to you. - - the ambience and decoration of the hotel
- the incredible staff and their organization, attention for details and efficiency to answer your needs, all the time. This made our stay special.
- the facilities and activities available at the hotel (water sport, tennis, soccer, basket, pétanque, reef walk, spice tour and Zanzibar city)
- The quality and variety of the food served (breakfast lunch and dinner), specially dinners with theme nights, sit menu, rarely ate so well at a resort ! - bring us more sunshine for next time !
